Bode Plot and resonant peaks
Hello,
I’m trying to fit these points to get a bode plot and possible transfer function
w = [0.1 0.2 0.3 0.5 0.8 1 2 3 5 8 10 20 30 50 80 100 200 300 500 800 1000 2000 3000 5000 8000];
G = [0 0 0 0 0 0 0 10 22 28 33 38 35 33 30 28 20 14 8 0 0 0 0 0 0];
I know there is a zero at 2 and the increasing is steeper so started with
"s^2+4*s+4" on the numerator
I know there is a resonant peak at x = 20 but I’m unable to do it.

Benefit of self-hosted API gateway in AKS
Hi everyone,
I am currently evaluating the benefit of using the self-hosted API gateway with our APIs hosted in AKS.
One thing I am wondering is if there is a benefit in terms of network latency compared to using a managed API gateway, especially if it is hosted in the same VNet as the cluster?
We are thinking of having service-to-service communication go through the API gateway (and not only calls from external clients), so it might be beneficial to use the self-hosted gateway so the calls don’t leave the cluster. But maybe there is actually no real benefit if they the managed gateway is deployed to the same VNet!?

Shared Folder with Internal User, User getting Message, “You need permission to access this item”.
I have shared a folder (not a document library) with an internal user, but that user keeps getting the message, ” You need permission to access this item. Inheritance is broken and the folder has unique permissions. This user doesn’t have access to the root site.
Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be here?

Is there a method to insert contact details from my contact list directly into the body of an email, similar to how you can share a contact in a WhatsApp chat? Just to clarify, I’m not looking for instructions on how to add a contact to my phonebook or email book; rather, I want to include the contact details for the recipient of the email within the message.

XLookup/Vlookup autopopulating
I am creating a database for Genelogical purposes and I have someone that would like to use my database to allow searching for people in their cemetary.
I would like to take the first tab (Search), where at the top I have fields marked Last, Maiden, First, Middle, AKA, DOB and DOD. I wish to have these cells where people would type information they know.
Then below that there is a table with more fields. I wish to have this table populated off of my A-Peterson, & Petree-Z tabs based off what the user will input into the search cells.
I am somewhat familiar with formulas though not entirely positive how I would build these formulas.
Please Help.
P.S. If I can figure out how to attach a copy of the database to aid in getting assistance I will.

Strip back Fundraising & Engagement
Our approved Dynamics providers were not familiar with Fundraising & Engagement and despite managing to install the app into our environment, it’s not something we’ve been able to use.
Is it wanting to connect to our banking system via Azure?
It’s got far more than we need so I’d like to strip it back and remove what I assume are scripts that are causing the current issues with adding donation records.
Our Microsoft Partner have suggested that they build what we require from scratch as fresh entities but this seems unnecessary as 1) I think I can do this and 2) It feels like what we want is already there, we just need to scale it back and remove whatever connections it’s looking for.
Have we missed something obvious?
It seems daft to me to rebuild it all when I actually just want to strip it back.
Separate to this – the Fundraising & Engagement app shows that setup has not been complete and on the cloud solution it shows that we need to buy licenses but we have bought the 5 free ones so I’m very confused with it. Could this be causing the error when trying to record a donation?

Keep files option missing from Windows 11 install 24h2?
I’ve always been able to install Windows and keep files in Windows old folder. Now trying to install 24h2 preview I see only these options. Does this mean it will really delete ALL files and not move to the Windows old folder?

SQLServer Auditing and Alerts
We have enabled SQL Server Query auditing with ‘On Audit Log Failure’ set to Continue, so not to lock up the system. I would like to setup a SQL Server Agent Alert that would fire when the Drive is full and it is not able to write the audit to the file.

Project Sites & Site Templates
I have tried searching but not found advice on avoiding creating a new project site template from an existing site linked to an existing project. I recall advice from many years ago not to do this but cannot remember the reasons. Is my memory playing tricks with me or were/are there genuine reasons as to why this is not advisable?
In a similar vein I am working with an instance of Project Server where a large number of Site Templates and associated solutions have emerged over the past 8 years and I am concerned that different Site Templates have evolved from the original single source and that in turn new templates based upon earlier templates have had changes made that mean lists with the same name may not be configured the same. We are getting regular queue errors that columns cannot be found in site lists which suggests this is the case.
Would there be any way to correct this divergence across a population of sites?
Trying to understand where the divergence may have occurred is not helped by the fact that it is not possible to know the “parentage” of existing sites when viewing the sites and workspaces list – _layouts/15/mngsubwebs.aspx – as the majority of sites have no description which they would have from the template name or description provided when using the Save as Template options on the /_layouts/savetmpl.aspx page

Unable to open custom file while building model in Linux
I’m trying to build a model in Linux environment. But it throws error as unable to open source file. This error is for a custom header file, which is verified to be present in the path (not current path).
I have tried to build the same model in Windows environment, where is builds without any issues.
Does anyone have solution to this problem? Thanks in advance.

fminunc is producing a Hessian matrix such that, when I take its Cholesky factor:
[CF,pp]=chol(Hessian);
I get that pp>0. Is there a way to force the algorithm to produce a Hessian such that pp=0?

Why do I get “Ignoring extra legend entries” evein in such trivial case?

MATLAB never misses on destroying any confidence you have in you coding skills.
I am coding a relatively easy script for data analysis, where I would plot data with a legend. In the code, I loop a plot() function to stack lines and then I ask to display a legend. However, I get the classic error from MATLAB:
Warning: Ignoring extra legend entries.
> In legend>process_inputs (line 590)
In legend>make_legend (line 319)
In legend (line 263)
Without dumping here the entire code, which is redundant, I get the same warning in an analogous and much simpler case:

x = 1:10;
y = randn(5, 10);
Labs = ["1", "2", "3", "4", "5"];
for i = 1:5
plot(x, y(i,:)); hold on
end
legend(Labs)
The result is 5 lines in the plot, but MATLAB throws the warning above, displaying an empty legend in the figure.

I am coding a relatively easy script for data analysis, where I would plot data with a legend. In the code, I loop a plot() function to stack lines and then I ask to display a legend. However, I get the classic error from MATLAB:
Warning: Ignoring extra legend entries.

In legend (line 263)
Without dumping here the entire code, which is redundant, I get the same warning in an analogous and much simpler case:

x = 1:10;
y = randn(5, 10);
Labs = ["1", "2", "3", "4", "5"];
for i = 1:5
plot(x, y(i,:)); hold on
end
legend(Labs)
The result is 5 lines in the plot, but MATLAB throws the warning above, displaying an empty legend in the figure.
If I try instead the "DislayName" method, the warning disappears, but the legend doesn’t even show up.

How to cancel Microsoft Defender free trial, when GoDaddy is my Tenant?
I signed up for a 3-month free trial of Microsoft Defender through https://security.microsoft.com/ a few months ago while exploring security options for my domain, which is hosted by GoDaddy. However, GoDaddy informed me that they are not authorized to sell me the product directly, as I need to migrate away from them and have Microsoft to be my tenant to make the purchase.
Now, as the trial period is coming to an end, I’ve been trying to cancel it through https://security.microsoft.com/ (The option is there), but it redirects me to GoDaddy instead. GoDaddy, in turn, advised me to contact Microsoft directly for assistance, but I’ve had difficulty reaching a real person through their support line.
I’m unsure about what happens after the trial period ends. Will it cancel automatically? Will GoDaddy be charged? I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to proceed as the trial deadline approaches.

The Age of Copilots continues…
Second, on the heels of the Microsoft 365 Community Conference arose Microsoft Build. Build highlighted a new capability in this age of copilots, the ability to create custom copilots – in SharePoint. And this time Jeff joined Satya Nadella, Kevin Scott, and Rajesh Jha within the Build opening keynote (KEY01).
Jeff introduced the ability for anyone to create custom copilots from SharePoint. In just a few clicks, you— whether an admin or business user— can create and share a copilot from SharePoint that’s grounded in the curated, authoritative content you choose. Since you rarely work alone, you can also easily share your copilots with others in Teams chat, email, and more. It’s like a subject matter expert ready to help you, your team, department, or even the whole company while respecting all your existing security settings and permissions.
