Always download PDF files forces open in edge as opposed to other default configured pdf software
This policy and its rule doesn’t appear to be working as expected.
settings > content > pdfDocuments
Download PDF files to your device. If Microsoft Edge is your default PDF reader, PDF files will open automatically without downloading.
On several devices within our estate they have alternative default pdf software (pdf xchange editor) despite all settings and configuration being correct and having tested this on/off it looks like this is the culprit.

Display Name Spoofing very often recently – how to prevent it
Hi experts,
recently, I have noticed increase in emails that tries to impersonate sender (Display Name Spoofing). The Display name shows a real user from our organization, however the sender email/domain is totally different.
I thought I had the protection configured properly but looks like that is not the case :/. I have anti-phish policy with Impersonation as below:
few critical users listed in “Enable users to protect”was going to enable it for all now, but there is no option like that, ..and it looks I need to manually add all internal usersEnable domains to protectInclude domains I own (does this include all domains I have registered in M365? See below). I would expect this will prevent these emailsInclude custom domains – I have nothing here, but I am not sure now whether my few domains created in M365 – including default domain, needs to be added here? As from what I know, the custom domains are the domains I create in M365.
Would like to check what is the proper way to configure protection against these email attacks.

Sharepoint connector in Power Automate can’t fetch all the users of the organization
I have 4 people in my organization, I have created a canvas app for approval, I am using Sharepoint list as data source.
While creating an approval flow I am able to add Nishan’t name ( 1 of the 4 user) (image attached)

Hi, I’m developing a SharePoint Intranet, one thing I’d like is to have a vertical section on a page that doesn’t scroll when you scroll the page, it would have things like quick links to different sections on the page, FAQ, or a quick instructional video on using the page, basically, things other than the site or global navigation that I want visible no matter where in the page they are. Not able to schedule meetings with MS Teams in Outlook

I recently left my company and have moved to my MS365 family subscription. My Word, Excel, PP, and Outlook are all working well. However MS Teams within Outlook is not working. I have done all that was suggested across various forums – a) add-ins on off, start-restart of MS Teams and Outlook – no change b) install, reinstall MS 365 and Teams for personal use – no change c) MS teams client app is available on my laptop and i can schedule meetings via that – but not via Outlook which i could do previously. Please help

What’s the actual difference between versions ‘a’ and ‘b’ of MATLAB, other than being 6 months apart?

I always thought the main difference between versions ‘a’ and ‘b’ of MATLAB was ‘b’ being 6 months "better" than version ‘a’ and, of course, this means that naturally the version ‘b’ is going to be a more up-to-date version, with more features as well – being the main intent to have new releases every semester. However, just the other day a friend of mine claimed something I wasn’t able to double-check elsewhere:
"Usually the ‘a’ versions are more stable (…) being ‘b’ more of a pre-release of version ‘a’ of the next year [rather than an actual release], having features that have past beta but still can be improved" (and supposedly will be improved and perfected at ‘a’). But isn’t this the story with just any release? Don’t you always implement new things and improve things of the past as necessary?
" ‘b’ will usually have more features than ‘a’, however the version ‘b’ is going to be something around 90% to 100% reliable, while ‘a’ will always be 100% reliable". Have someone ever come across these reliability concerns once?

Where do I download support package files, with the following name convention: [name]_[release_[version].zip?
I am trying to install the Image Acquisition Toolbox Support Package for OS Generic Video Interface onto a computer with no internet connection. My issue is finding the correct file to install. When I download the support package on an internet-connected computer the folder is named osgenericvideointerface_download, but the 2014b support package installer does not recognize the folder as a support package folder. Instead, when I select the folder in the installer I receive the error,
% osgenericvideointerface_download does not contain any support package files.
% Specify a folder or subfolder that contains support package files.
% These files use the following name convention: [name]_[release_[version].zip
Where do I get the folder with this specified naming convention such that the installer will recognize it?

Daily “Network Port Sweep detected on port x” but no Source IP
For a couple of months we have been getting “Network Port Sweep was detection by multiple IPs” with ports 135 and 445 mostly. The KQL attached lists a load of Destination IPs but no Source IP (see example below) All these are inside our network, and so not coming from outside the network where the firewall would block such scans. We suspect it is one of our network tools such as Solarwinds but without the Source IP it is difficult to prove anything.

Microsoft has announced the formal renaming of the Win32 version of Outlook to be Outlook (classic). It’s preparing for the general availability of the new Outlook for Windows, expected very soon into the new Microsoft fiscal year starting on July 1, 2024. The change doesn’t affect the status of Outlook (classic) or the commitment to support the client until at least 2029.
