I am having an issue where my word doc (set to autosave to OneDrive business desktop app) on my PC is suddenly saved in a “.tmp.driveupload” folder online under a different file name (random numbers), with autosave switched off. 

If I do not notice this happening, the change to the document is not saved under the expected folder and file name, resulting in no change made to the file I opened. 

The only workaround I’ve found is to “save a copy” and overwrite the file I opened in the original folder. This only works if I notice the sudden name change and file save in the tmp folder. If I don’t, the changes are lost because the tmp file is deleted (to recycle bin) on exit and the tmp folder is not synced to my PC. I have to go online to the OneDrive business website, guess which file it may be, restore that from the OneDrive recycle bin, and hope it is the file I was looking for. The frequency of this happening means that there are numerous tmp files under pseudo file names to scour through. 

One-hour plus on the phone with MS Office subscription support is of no help.

Hi, I was hoping to post this here to maybe get some more visibility about an outstanding issue regarding the built-in Intune Microsoft 365 apps for macOS package as documented here: ( Microsoft 365 apps for macOS close and reinstall without notification – Intune | Microsoft Learn ) 

We are still seeing this issue occurring where it appears that Intune is unable to correctly detect that the Office Suite for macOS was deployed. This causes the application to display as “Pending Install” and causes all M365 apps (Outlook, Teams (work or school), OneNote, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to reinstall when device syncs, causing user loss of data and productivity. I’ve seen posts about this issue as far back as 2022. Is there any current work being done to address this issue? The current suggested resolution is to change the app assignment from “Required” to “Available for Enrolled Devices” which is not really ideal. We are using ABM with ADE (w/ user affinity). Mac OS Sonoma 14.5

Issue Description

Until recently, this logic correctly loaded data based on the historical depth parameters. However, it now seems to be malfunctioning, leading to incorrect date calculations and always selecting today dates. (utcnow)

My Investigation and Changes

To address this issue, I simplified the logic, assuming the problem might be due to redundant checks and over-complication. Here’s the updated version of the code:

Could anyone provide insights into why the original code might have stopped functioning correctly? Have there been any updates or changes in ADF that might affect string comparison logic? Any guidance or suggestions to ensure reliable date calculations would be greatly appreciated.

Filtering MDE Alerts by Detection Source: In Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), is it possible to filter alerts based on their detection source? Specifically, if we want to view only those alerts generated by MDE itself, how can we achieve that? Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Quarantine Location in MDE: According to a Google search, the quarantine location for MDE is specified as “/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows Defender/Quarantine”.
