IIS Anonymous settings question
Hi Gang,
When enabling the Anonymous Authentication, there is an Edit button to set a user. As well, there is also an option to specify a user in Basic Settings for a virtual folder/app in IIS.
What is the difference between these two?
Many thanks!

SSIS flat file destination, how to write line ending \x00\x00\x0d\x0a?
This is a question about Microsoft SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), and if necessary, please help us set it to the correct category. Thank you.
We have a required format of flat file, it’s a text file with multiple columns of fixed length, and each record corresponds to one line in the text file. In this format, the line ends with \x00\x00\x0d\x0a, which means two NUL characters followed by line breaker. See the screenshots below for a demonstration in text and Hex editors.
With SSIS (SQL Server Integration Service), we want to retrieve data from a query, e.g.:
select
*
, convert(varchar(4), ”+char(0)+char(0)+char(13)+char(10)) as end_tag
from source_table
;
Then we want to route the data flow into a Flat File Destination to export to a text file. However, as a result, the end_tag did not leave anything in the result text file.
Is it possible to get our expected line ending tag in SSIS package? If yes, how to do it?
We are new to this area of SSIS, so we highly appreciate any hints and suggestions.
The following screenshots shows our expected line ending:

Creating a logo in Word
Hello
I am trying to create a logo in Word and originally created what I wanted and then took a screenshot and saved as a picture, but it saved with the white background which does not help when trying to put the logo on other objects.
I saw a video on grouping and saving the new image as a picture, however it is only saving one image and not the grouped items. When I right click it also does not give the option to save as a picture.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hide a row if a textbox containing a subreport is blank
Error message: the hidden expression for the tablix “Details” contains an error. The expression references the report item “Textbox44” which does not exist in the ReportItems collection…
I have used this technique for hiding row based on field values, but in this case, I’m trying to hide the row if the textbox containing the subreport is blank.
TIA, Kevin
Hi!I am writing a report with a table that contains a column with a subreport in it. If the subreport returns a NULL, then I want to hide the row from the report when run. At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As part of that work, Tech for Social Impact (TSI), part of Microsoft Philanthropies, develops technology and skilling that help nonprofit organizations tackle the world’s biggest challenges. Last year, Microsoft provided more than $3.8 billion in technology discounts and donations to more than 377,000 nonprofits around the world. And this year we will provide more grants and discounts to more nonprofits than in any previous year.
Over the past two years, we have witnessed the rapid rise of AI innovation and adoption, inspiring us all with its promise and impact. Our goal in TSI is to ensure that AI’s promise can be realized by all nonprofits, and that means we must focus our resources on the Microsoft Cloud and AI. To do that, we are dedicating more AI resources to help nonprofits navigate their AI transformation.
We will be launching a new Azure Landing Zone for smaller nonprofits to help them secure their data and prepare for AI.
We will also be releasing new Power Platform-based template apps that are aligned to the Common Data Model for Nonprofits to help accelerate partner innovation in the areas of fundraising, grant management, and outcomes management.
These template apps will be available in Solution Center during the second half of calendar year 2024.
We will be retiring our first-party fundraising solution called Fundraising and Engagement. Microsoft will continue to fully support Fundraising and Engagement through December 31, 2026, providing a 2.5-year transition planning timeline. All standard Microsoft service and support levels will remain in place until that date.
This evolution represents an important change for our nonprofit and partner ecosystem, enabling us to offer more choice and more innovation to nonprofits of all sizes globally. For larger organizations, customers can utilize Microsoft partner solutions for fundraising and donor engagement built on Dynamics 365 that are designed for customers transitioning from Fundraising and Engagement – available on Microsoft AppSource. Smaller organizations can take advantage of the fundraising template app built on Power Platform.
Additionally, customers can leverage other best of breed industry-specific fundraising solutions on Microsoft AppSource built on our AI platforms, the Microsoft Cloud, and the Common Data Model for Nonprofits.
Customers should work with their partner to determine the best path forward for their organizational fundraising needs. If your organization does not have a Microsoft Partner, you can find a partner with knowledge of the Fundraising and Engagement solution at Microsoft.com/nonprofits.
To support your customers’ decision-making, Microsoft will provide a one-time assessment for customers spending over $5000 (USD) annually on Dynamics 365. This assessment, available in late August 2024, aims to help your customers’ organization determine the best path forward by evaluating the available alternatives for their fundraising needs.
Our mission remains steadfast – we are here to empower nonprofits around the globe with the technology and skilling they need to solve the world’s problems. We provide discounts and grants across the Microsoft Cloud including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Surface, Microsoft Azure, and Power Apps. Missing Categories in Microsoft To Do Apps: Any Updates?
Hello everyone,
I’ve been using the Microsoft To Do app and wanted to discuss an issue regarding the category/tag functionality in task lists. Recently, Microsoft introduced an update allowing the addition of customizable tags to each task within a list. I have successfully configured and assigned these categories via the web interface using a browser.
However, I noticed that the categories/tags assigned through the web do not appear in the Microsoft To Do apps for Android, iOS, and Microsoft Store. This makes it challenging to find specific tasks when using these apps.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there any update on when this functionality will be synchronized with the mobile and Microsoft Store apps?
Thanks in advance for your help!

How to Embed the Entire Copilot Service into a Customized UI in Dynamics CRM
I have two Copilots in my Dynamics CRM: one is the out-of-the-box product, and the other is a customized Copilot that we developed. I would like to keep both Copilots in the same side panel. Is there a way to embed the whole OOB Copilot for service into a tab within my customized side panel?

Apple Mail
Hello – I thought I had clicked on Tech support, but here I am in a discussion space?
Hopefully someone can help – the last few weeks has been a nightmare with my hotmail on Apple mail.
Am I going to need to change all the emails to outlook officially, and let everyone know (hundreds and hundreds???)?? Or does hotmail stay while the magic works in the background as outlook?
I’ve tried resolving this at least 6 times with Apple Support (which actually exists, unlike MS…….), but I wonder if I need to fully change my email handle before it will quit giving me grief and work with the Apple Mail??
Thanks

OneDrive corrupts computer storage
OneDrive has proven to be a frustrating and aggravating unreliable piece of junk..
Example 1:
Edited an Excel file.Saved file to Documents/(subfolder chain)/<filename>Closed Excel.Use Edge to access Gmail account.Created a new messageSelected to attach a fileBrowsed to Documents/(subfolder chain)/<filename>Selected InsertSent EmailChecked sent messages folder.Opened the sent EmailOpened the attached Excel fileThe file it attached was an old version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Using File browser, Opened <filename> following Documents/(subfolder chain)/<filename>It is the updated version of the file.Using File browser, Opened <filename> following the path OneDrive/Documents/(subfolder chain)/<filename> It is the updated version of the file.Went back to Gmail and created a new EmailSelected to attach a fileBrowsed to Documents/(subfolder chain)/<filename>Attached <filename>Double clicked the attachment to open fileThe file it attached was an old version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why didn’t OneDrive allow the local copy of the file to be physically updated when I saved it – at the time I saved it.????
Example 2:
With the computer off-line: open <filename>Edit Filename.Save filenameGet warning message that computer is offlineSelect to save the file, anyway.do other things off line.go online and handle other tasksnavigate to and open <filename> It is the unedited version of the file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sidebar comes up saying excel has a temporary backupWhy didn’t OneDrive allow the local copy of the edited <filename> to be saved as commanded in the first place?Open the temporary backupIt is the edited version of the fileSystem REFUSES to save the backup file to <filename>
Again: OneDrive is a pain to use. Working with documents is unreliable, you never know which version you are going to get. When you use File Explorer to navigate to and open the file, it will show the correct version, when you select the file from other applications for it to be inserted, it pulls a previous version of the file.
What is physically written in the Local Copy is unreliable.

Conversation Styles Missing
Hello, I have a Copilot 365 license along with a small group of other test users. We all noticed on Friday that suddenly the conversation styles (Precise, Balanced, Creative) are no longer there. The rest of our people are using Copilot with Commercial Data Protection only, and they still have them. Our region is set to United States and always has been. I’m wondering if this is an intentional update to remove those conversational styles for 365 users and/or if this will soon disappear for our non 365 users? We have done a lot of training and included using these styles, so we’ll need to inform our users if this is going away. Thanks for any insight!

CHANGE OWNERSHIP OF A SPREADSHEET
Hi
I’m about to handover a membership list which is held on a spreadsheet in Dropbox. I’ve shared the File with the new admin, and her name is appearing as ‘Able to Edit’ but she can’t Edit the file. Do I need to change her to Owner? If so, how do I do that?
Thanks for any help.
