MCAS Access Policy not applying to Slack/Google Workspace
Hello,
I am testing conditional access controls for all of our corporate apps, in this case the scope is limited to MS365 apps, Slack and Google Workspace. The exact scenario I am trying to address is, when a non compliant device (managed through Intune + compliance policies) attempts to access any corporate application, I want to restrict access until the device is compliant again.
I have created a AD conditional access policy that will “grant access” requiring one of the selected controls to be checked off as “device to be marked as compliant”, and the Session condition is set to “Use Conditional Access App Control” with the drop down on Use Custom Policy. I have an access policy in MCAS with the following conditions:
Device Tag != Intune Compliant
App – Manual Onboarding = M365, Google Cloud, Slack
if those conditions check off then the action is set to Block and Alert. In my testing I was able to get these controls to work only for the M365 apps, but I am still able to access and use Google and Slack on the non compliant device. Any feedback on if I am doing anything wrong, or if this is a known limitation would be great. Thanks!

Azure DevOps sometimes doesn’t trigger build for GitHub PRs
Hello Community,
I have an Azure Pipelines plugin installed on my application’s GitHub repo. We should have a CI build trigger for each PR and when those PR merged into specific branches. The issue is that sometimes the build is getting triggered for the PR commits, but when merging this PR to the branch, the build is not triggered, and I have to run it manually.

Microsoft To Do App Not Working on macOS Ventura 13.6.9 Since January 2024
Hello Community,
I’ve been encountering an issue with the Microsoft To-Do app on my Mac, running macOS Ventura 13.6.9, and I’m seeking advice or a possible solution.
Since January 2024, the app has not been functioning correctly. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue—including deleting and reinstalling the app several times—it still fails to open or crashes shortly after launching. Additionally, I cannot sign back in after signing out of the app, as the pinwheel keeps spinning endlessly.
Here are the steps I’ve already taken:
Deleted and reinstalled Microsoft To Do multiple times.
Checked for updates on both the app and macOS.
Restarted my Mac after each installation.
I signed out and attempted to sign back in, only to be stuck with an endlessly spinning pinwheel.
None of these actions have resolved the issue. I rely heavily on Microsoft To Do for my daily organization, and this ongoing problem has been quite disruptive.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems, or does anyone have any troubleshooting tips or solutions to recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Bookings Calendar Not Showing
When I click on the Bookings icon in Outlook Web I get this and not my bookings page.
After I click Get Started I get this. After I click on Existing Booking Calendar my calendar is not listed.
There’s nothing in the Message Center about issues with Bookings and the Road Map doesn’t have anything to explain this behavior.
So, is my Booking Calendar now gone?

Known issue: New apps not added in APP when targeting “All Apps” or “All Microsoft Apps”
We recently identified an issue where newly added apps aren’t targeted automatically in Microsoft Intune app protection policies (APP) when the policy is targeted to app groups such as “All Apps” or “All Microsoft Apps”. While we’re working on a fix, we recommend updating existing policies that target app groups to ensure all apps within an app group are included and receive APP.
Workaround
Use the steps below to ensure all apps within the app groups are correctly targeted for policy:
Navigate to Microsoft Intune admin center > Apps > App protection policies.
Select the policy that targets the app group “All apps” or “All Microsoft Apps”.
In the Intune App Protection pane, select Properties.
Under Apps, select Edit.
Change the targeted app group. For example, if the policy was targeted to “All apps”, change it to “All Microsoft Apps” and vice versa.
Click Review + create.
When you’re done, click Save to update the app protection policy.
Repeat steps 4-7 by changing the app group in step 5 to the originally targeted app group.
While these steps should only take a few minutes and shouldn’t disrupt your users, we recommend making the changes outside of your normal business hours and completing both targeting changes in a single session.
We’ll continue to update this post as new information becomes available. If you have questions or comments for the Intune team, reply to this post or reach out on X @IntuneSuppTeam.

High Scale log collection in Azure Monitor – Container Insights
Container Insights is Azure Monitor’s solution for collecting logs from your Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters. As adoption of AKS continues to grow, we are seeing an increasing number of customers with log scaling needs that hit the limits of log collection in Container Insights.
We are happy to announce High Scale mode in Container Insights to help customers achieve a higher log collection throughput from their AKS clusters.
When High Scale mode is enabled, Container Insights does multiple configuration changes leading to a higher overall throughput. These include using a more powerful agent setup, using a different data pipeline, allocating more memory for agent, and more. All these changes are made in the background by the service and do not require input or configuration from customers.
High Scale mode impacts only the data collection layer (with a new DCR) – the rest of the experience remains the same. Data flows to our existing tables, your queries and alerts work as before too. High Scale mode is available to all customers but requires customers to opt-in to use.
To get started with High Scale mode, please see our documentation at https://aka.ms/cihsmode.

Error using webwrite: “Recv failure: Connection was reset”
I am using webwrite and get the following error:
"Error connecting to [targeturl]: Recv failure: Connection was reset"
This is the matlab code:
options = weboptions(‘MediaType’,’application/x-www-form-urlencoded’,’Timeout’,Inf);
response = webwrite(url,data,options);
When I execute my equivalent url/data call from Chrome, it works just fine.
It’s knowingly a semi-long wait time for the response. (I’m requesting my target server to build a large CSV dataset then respond with the URL for the CSV). ‘response’ is simply a text string of the CSV url. (Separate code to fetch the CSV works just fine)
The url/data call used to work fine with a Timeout of 900s, then I increased my request to ask for a dataset about 10%-15% larger. Now I keep getting the above error, even though the Timeout upper limit should actually be a little over 2000s. I’ve also tried manual Timeout thesholds at 1000, 1200, 1800, etc to no avail.
It seems like even thought the Timeout is 2000+… something is still timing out…I am using webwrite and get the following error:

How to fit a nonparametric distribution to a sample of known percentile values
Hello everyone
I have a sample of percentile values that describe the distribution of possible earthquake acceleration levels that lead to the failure of a building component. I would like to fit a nonparametric model to these data. I know that, for a random sample of these earthquake acceleration levels, I coiuld fit a nonparametric density using the the ksdensity function but is there a way to do a similar fit for the cumulative distribution function of this function?
Many thanks
Example data:
percentiles = [3 11 27 33 52 66 75 87 92];
acc = [0.3339 0.3595 0.4209 0.4283 0.4645 0.5010 0.5080 0.5713 0.6025];Hello everyone

Introduction
Container binary drift refers to the phenomenon where a running container deviates from its original image over time. This can happen due to various reasons, such as manual updates, automated processes, or security vulnerabilities. Essentially, the container starts to differ from the static snapshot it was created from, leading to potential inconsistencies and security risks.
When thinking of container image drifts, it is important to understand the following:
Security Risks: Image drift can introduce security risks, as the container may run software or processes that were not part of the original image. This can create a security blind spot, as traditional image scanning may not detect these changes
Detection: Detecting image drift involves monitoring the container for changes that deviate from the original image. This can be done using tools that compare the running container’s state with its original image.
Prevention: To prevent image drift, it is recommended to implement image immutability, regularly update base images, and use image scanning tools. Monitoring and alerting for image drift can also help in identifying and addressing any deviations.

Freezing Pane Protection Requirement Shared Drive
Hi all,
Current Situation:
I am currently working with a team collaboratively on an Excel sheet. The creator of the shared file has set and communicated a standard freeze pane on a particular column & row.
Issue:
Since it is a shared file on OneDrive, there are instances where users are tampering with the freeze panes that have been communicated to stay as is. This causes formatting errors, hence affecting the whole data set as a whole.
Query:
Is there a way to protect the file as such that cells can be updated (input can be added), BUT the freeze panes set should stay permanently where no one can format this.
I have tried locking cells with the sheet protection, however I still can unfreeze and freeze panes still.

Log Reader Agent throwing errors on Azure SQL Managed Instance
I configured Azure SQL Managed Instance for transactional replication, it is a publisher with local distributor. I got it set up and the snapshot agent runs successfully, but the log reader agent is throwing errors:
The last step did not log any message! (Source: MSSQL_REPL, Error number: MSSQL_REPL22037)
Get help: http://help/MSSQL_REPL22037
I tried setting up with TSQL script as well as via replication wizard. Still no luck with the logreader agent.
Note – this instance of MI was migrated from on-premise. I verified that the replAgentUser was created and does exist.

Hello everybody,
I am looking for help with saving my excel files on Mac.
I am using excel files with macros, but when I open it on OneDrive Windows and save it and after that I want open it on OneDrive Mac, it automatically turns off autosaving and shows two problems.
– An unexpected error occurred. Automatic refresh has been disabled for this Excel session.
and after that, when I want save file

It looks like file is broken, but every file I have cannot be broken.
I can’t save it. This problem is with every macro file on Mac.

None of the staff, services, or other changes we made are displaying on the Shared Booking page.
The Shared Booking “Admininstrator” shows black and it looks like it is loading for about a minute to load and then disappears.
I’ve tried accessing it using different browsers, in incognito mode, and through Teams and the web app.
When I access the shared booking configuration, it doesn’t display all staff or services and the link is missing.
I have already submitted a support ticket with Microsoft, but they are still working on identifying the issue.
I need help troubleshooting this problem. Looking forward to see some suggestions.

Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group Malta Virtual Meetup
This is a great learning and networking opportunity, whether you are in Dynamics 365 CE, Finance and Operations, Business Central/NAV, or Microsoft Power Platform or an enthusiast of any of these platforms.
In this session, we’ll explore the capabilities of Power BI Embed, covering what it is, how it works, and the benefits it offers for organizations. We’ll discuss the necessary Power BI licensing and then dive into practical tasks, such as embedding Power BI into platforms like SharePoint Online, MS Teams, PowerPoint, Jupyter Notebook, and more. We’ll also cover using Power BI Authentication, iframe code in Python, and embedding on organizational websites both public and secure. Finally, we’ll introduce novyPro, a platform for Power BI developers to showcase their work. This session will provide both the knowledge and hands-on techniques needed to effectively embed Power BI in various environments.

Outlook and Gmail
I use Outlook but it’s linked to Gmail when I use Android devices. Gmail empties the bin folder every 30 days. But it never seems to empty the “imap trash” folder at all. What is the difference between these two folders, and can I set autodeletion on the imap trash folders so that I don’t have to remember to do it?

What is the difference between these two folders, and can I set autodeletion on the imap trash folders so that I don’t have to remember to do it? I’ve stored up hundreds of emails accidentally that I thought were being deleted!!! Someone in the Google Community suggested that I look at settings in Outlook rather than Gmail itself so that any deleted items go to the bin instead of being stored. Anyone any (simple) ideas please? Read More
