Ever since group based licensing was moved from Entra to 365 admin, it’s no longer possible to apply licenses to to 365 groups. This is clearly broken and needs fixing. What’s the process to raise this with Microsoft? I tried using Graph but that’s also broken, even when following the MS doc.

I raised a support case but they guy that called back was absolutely useless, didn’t even know what I was talking about.

I am toying with the idea of preparing a comprehensive excel workbook for preparing a computation of income, adjustments, deductions, taxes and credits similar to a software helping to prepare 1040 return. My idea is not exactly to prepare a tax forms for submission but a computation summary of four to five pages which helps the tax payers to appreciate their income and taxes (as against 200+ pages of tax return). Technically it will be a full fledged software but will be also a very good review and visulation tool and mybe a tax planning tool later. Is excel a good place to do that? Will python with excel be able to handle? I am a tax professional but not a tech guy. I am only looking at Federal preparation as of now.

Hello, I am here to seek some advise regarding the architecture of an application. It is written in .net. The application has a part where tenants can upload fotos into their account (blob storage). They can do that either via Web UI or by connecting an uploader application (like Azure Storage Explorer). Each tenant basically has some kind of image-inbox. Those uploaded images need to be processed afterwards. It is worth to mention that we use Aspire and Azurite when developing.

My issue starts with the processing of those images. First I was using azure functions to process those images and they have been triggered by storage blob events. This worked but was kind of slow. When we installed Aspire it was even not possible to use Azure Functions anymore.

This was the time when we removed Azure Functions and created our own “Worker” application. This application polled the Azure Blob Storage and if there were images started a sub-worker per tenant to process those files. This was already much faster and more reliable. But after deploying to production we quickly found out, that the cost sky-rocketed due to the polling.

I then looked into then new GetChangeFeedClient approach which seems to be a less expensive version to get informed about new data in the blob storage. I developed that just to find out, that it is not supported in Azurite, thus we can not even run in locally. At this point I do not even understand why Azurite does not support all of the Azure features. How can anyone develop something without a simulator? Anyway this seems to be a dead end.

I also thought about Azure Event Grid but that is also not supported on Azurite.

At this point I am not sure what to do. Should I wait for .net 9 and go back to Azure Functions because they will be supported and will I live with the slow processing and overhead? Or should I ditch Azure Blob Storage and find another storage solution? 

Any advise is appreciated…

I wanted to start Asp.net core Angular training. I am a Macos M1 user. I installed the necessary plugins with Vscode and created a webapi. But the api does not work with the dotnet watch command. It says the reason is https certificate problem.

To generate a developer certificate run ‘dotnet dev-certs https’. To trust the certificate (Windows and macOS only) run ‘dotnet dev-certs https –trust’.

There is a long error like this. I enter the following commands in the terminal, in order:
1- dotnet dev-certs https
2- dotnet dev-certs https –trust
I approve the certificate.

When I say 3-dotnet dev-certs https –check, I get the error:
No valid certificate found.

I found the localhost certificates in Keychain Access and selected the always trust option. But I couldn’t find a solution.

Also: dotnet dev-certs https –trust Trusting the HTTPS development certificate was requested. If the certificate is not already trusted we will run the following command: ‘security add-trusted-cert -p basic -p ssl -k <<login-keychain>> <<certificate>>’ This command might prompt you for your password to install the certificate on the keychain. There is an addition process like To undo these changes: ‘security remove-trusted-cert <<certificate>>’ I didn’t know how to do it.
Can you help me with this?

Good evening

I need a formula to get item costs from a vender list. I have 2 tabs, in the first tab “worksheet”, the second tab is “venders”, with the items and prices. On the worksheet tab I created a drop down list with the venders names in cell A3, and a second drop down list in cell B3 with the names of the items. when I select a vender and an item I want cell C4 to show the cost of that item from that vender.
