Thingspeak – how to reboot a LORA node if it stops sending data?
I have a LORA node up-linking data to a Thingspeak channel via The Things Network (TTN). Sometimes it stops sending data and I reboot it by logging into my conmsole on TTN and sending a re-boot down-link message to the node. Is there any way I can transmit a downlink message to the node direct from Thinkspeak?

Simulate single precision arithmetic in Matlab?
Hi! I’m trying to replicate, in Matlab, compiled algorithms implemented in C using single-precision arithmetic; I have the C source code, and an executable which is reputed to implement said C source, but no convenient means to compile and link said source myself. (Yes, I know I can download the Microsoft C compiler, incl. a no-frills version of Visual Studio, for free, but that’s hardly "convenient.") I’ve implemented the algorithms and I’m 99% sure they’re right because the "residuals" (the difference between my results and those of the original C implementations) are more-or-less randomly distributed around zero, and about 85% of them are within half of the precision of the C implementations’ output (which varies, but, for example, when it’s 1e-4, 85% of my residuals satisfy abs(res)<5e-5). It’s the other 15% that leave me 1% uncertain, and my attempts to explain the discrepancy have brought me to the single/double precision issue: I have good cause to suspect that the C implementations are using single-precision arithmetic, and I’ve been led to believe that Matlab always performs double-precision arithmetic, even on single precision "data," yes? (I tried making ‘single’ all the data in my implementation, and confirmed after each "gross" calculation that the output remained so, but that only reduced the number of bad residuals by 3 out of 4118 total input points.) So, I’m wondering if there’s either a "convenient" way to simulate single-precision arithmetic in Matlab (I searched File Exchange for relevant functions, but found none) or to estimate/bound the "error" introduced by using single-precision arithmetic (including power/root and exponential/log functions) instead of double. Question: ReFS as bootable OS volume – Would it help to reduce CPU load and IOPS for servicing?
Hi everyone,
just thinking out loud:
IF Windows (Server or Client) would support ReFS as a Bootable Filesystem for the OS drive, do you think this could be help reducing CPU and IOPS required to patch the Windows Server fleet?
Azure Update Manager in action, brings my lab rig to sweat 🙂
I imagine that ReFS could be more efficient for servicing actions, like applying LCU, modifying or applying WIM images etc.
Given there was a vivid experimental discussion in this thread

b26085 – Windows Server 2025 Domain Controller fail to deploy via DSC
Hi there,
I am trying to deploy mslab using Windows Server 2025 preview.
I believe Jaromir as maintainer of mslab opened an SR. In result he updated the code some PS DSC Modules.
Still the deployment of the domain controller template will fail during first boot.
This is not specific to b26085, this one is troubling for since WS2025 insider, so it never worked with this branch.
Repro steps
Install Windows Server 2025 b26085.1 on a physical machine and enable Hyper-V
Download and extract mslab
https://github.com/microsoft/MSLab/releases/tag/v24.04.1
run the mslab scripts in order
1_Prereq
2_CreateParentDisks
> select Windows Server 2025 ISO b26085 (WS 2022 ISO will work)
> skip the MSU dialogue
Domain Controller VM gets created from parent disk image
First boot will fail with following error
Question:
What could be reasons it keeps failing. We have no clue / pointers and imho it would be expected and necessary that mslab works with WS2025, too.
Who at Microsoft could afford time to repro and looking into that?
As mslab is also used by Microsoft, I hope anyone could spare time to investigate (with Jaromir and/or me). I personally can spare time for that investigation.
Thank you very much in advance!

I keep getting an email that says “We recently received a request to recover your Microsoft account a****@hotmail.com. Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership.”
Please, I can’t keep getting this automated response all the time.
For your kind information:
1. I created this account a long time ago in the late 90s – maybe between 1996 to 1999, I really cant remember because it was so long ago.
2. The account has been my primary account since then until October 2023 when i lost access due to key-in the wrong password due to a lapse in memory & judgement.
3. The problem during the initial recover is further compounded due to me not having access to the following:
a. Phone number in use during the Hotmail account registration/creation
b. alternate email in use during Hotmail registration/creation
I don’t have access to these anymore.
4. As I mentioned earlier, the online account recovery request process is really not helping me at all. When filling the form, apart from my birthdate and email, there are other information i cannot remember as it has been a very very very long time since I created this account.
5. The only thing i can do prove that this Hotmail account was actively used as my primary account is probably quote a list of emails received and sent out:
a. The last email received is 16 October 2023; timestamped at 8:52 PM
b. The last email sent out is date 13 October 2023; time stamped 5:10 PM
I really need some help with this. Microsoft’s automated process is not helping – it’s swiftly shutting me down in my process to secure my access to my Hotmail account.
Please, I really help as this account is linked to some key services and social platforms.
Please, somebody, please tell me how I can get some proper support beyond the automated process.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Angela

Warning: Variable appears to change size on every loop iteration (within a script). Consider preallocating for speed.
Hello. I am working on a project where I’ve created a while-loop to calculate 3 power values and 4 cost values. I need to run this loop 60 times. I receive the warning shown in the summary and 3×4 double for my cst variable and 4×3 double in my power variable. I’m trying to store the values in a table so I can see all 60 values of P1, P2, P3, F1, F2, F3, and Ft. I’m very new to MATLAB and I cannot figure out how to get past the fact that I can apparently only get to 12 values each for cost and power. Here is my code:

How can i put the values in gradient of a function obtained through the gradient command?
TT=[1 1 1 1];
syms p0 p1 p2 p3 p4;
f_function = log(noise+p1*TT(1)+p2*TT(2)+p3*TT(3)+p4*TT(4));
f_gradient = gradient(f_function,[p0, p1, p2, p3, p4]);
f_gradient = f_gradient.’
Here I got f_gradient function of p1,p2,p3, p4.
now i want to evaluate it by putting p0=2, p1=2,..likewise…

Radially Symmetric Heatmap in a Sphere
I’m doing a project on the neutron diffusion equation in a spherical coordinate system. I’m looking to make an animation of what is essentially just a heatmap showing heat (representing flux) radiating outward from the center of the sphere, and I would like to be able to change paramaters like the absorption cross-section and the fission cross-section to show differing intensities of diffusion. I’m pretty new to MatLab and I don’t really know how I would go about doing this. Is this feasible to do in MatLab?I’m doing a project on the neutron diffusion equation in a spherical coordinate system. COM – Feval() passing a table as a Double[,] is as expected, nonetheless c# Dictionary.ToArray() returns a Double[][] (what is called a jagged array)
What would a best practice be in passing a Dictionary like structure into a matlab function such as "cov" using COM’s Feval() … take the below example:
SortedDictionary<DateTime, Double[]> tableTT;
…
matlab.Feval("cov", 1, out result, tableTT.Values.ToArray());
will fail, as ToArray() returns a jagged array.
Is there a way to avoid using a "conversion" function, such as:
static double[,] ImperativeConvert(double[][] source)
{
double[,] result = new double[source.Length, source[0].Length];
for (int i = 0; i < source.Length; i++)
{
for (int k = 0; k < source[0].Length; k++)
{
result[i, k] = source[i][k];
}
}
return result;
}
