Can this separator be only for thousands or can it be changed as it is done for Indian currency? For Indian currency, the numbers go in thousands up to 100,000 which is called one lakh. For example, 150,000 rupees becomes 1.5 lakh rupees, written as ₹1,50,000 or INR 1,50,000. Then 1,00,00,000 (one hundred lakhs) is one crore.
