Excel cell format whole number accounting with negatives in brackets
When I had windows 10 I could put negative numbers in an excel cell into brackets quite easily using the accounting format provided. Not so in windows 11, it appears I have to use custom settings. I successfully arrived at a setting that allowed me to show (for example) negative ten pounds with no £ sign to show as (10.00). I am having difficulty however with showing it as (10) i.e. as a whole number.
I have tried _(*###0_);_(*(#,##0);_(*”-“_);_(@_) but Microsoft tells me that it is not a permitted format, even though it appears to have worked on excel copies previously saved on windows 10. I need to work in whole numbers and put negative numbers into brackets, so I would appreciate some assistance in finding the right formula. In windows 1 you could do it through the regional setting in my PC Settings.
Thank you
