Quick Tips / Sensivity Label Content Marking
Hello everyone,
I’m going to share with you some very important information that might be useful about Microsoft Purview Information Protection.
As you know, when you create labeling policies, you can apply content marking based on your preference. This could be a header, footer, or a watermark.
So, did you know that within a single policy, you can apply different markings for different types of documents and content (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)?
Let’s look at some examples with the variables below:
For instance, if you want the marking to appear only in Word documents, it’s enough to enter the following variable text in the customize field:
${If.App.Word}This Word document is sensitive ${If.End}
If you want to apply different markings for Word, Excel, and Outlook content, and separate markings for PowerPoint documents within the same policy, you can use the following variable:
${If.App.WXO}This content is confidential. ${If.End}${If.App.PowerPoint}This presentation is confidential. ${If.End}
These variable parameters can be expanded and further examples can be provided. You can increase the variables and apply them according to document types.
Best Regards
Ali Koc
