OpenAI’s GPT-4o mini Now Available in API with Vision Capabilities on Azure AI
We recently launched OpenAI’s fastest model, GPT-4o mini, in the Azure OpenAI Studio Playground, simultaneously with OpenAI. The response from our customers has been phenomenal. Today, we are excited to bring this powerful model to even more developers by releasing the GPT-4o mini API with vision support for Global and East US Regional Standard Deployments.
From Playground to API: Expanding Accessibility
Launching GPT-4o mini in the Azure OpenAI Studio Playground provided our customers with the opportunity to experiment and innovate with the latest AI technology. Now, by extending its availability to the API with global and regional pricing, we are empowering developers to seamlessly integrate GPT-4o mini into their applications, leveraging its incredible speed and versatility for a wide range of tasks.
Unlocking New Possibilities with Vision and Text Capabilities
With the addition of vision input capabilities, GPT-4o mini expands its versatility and opens new horizons for developers and businesses. This enhancement allows users to process and analyze visual data, extracting valuable insights and generating comprehensive text outputs. Highlighting and grouping rows that share a value
I have a very large report that is distributed daily that requires thousands of rows of data that need to be reviewed. I’m trying to make it easier for the user to read the rows in groups by highlighting the alternate groups. Similar to when you use the Format as Table feature and every other row alternates color. But in this instance, I want to group a number of rows together in the same color based on a shared value and alternate the color for each grouped set of rows. Any idea on how to manage this and what conditional formatting formulas or other features I could use to accomplish this?
Example to keep it simple: if I wanted to alternate rows between different Objects in the below so that it would be grey for Apple, white for Orange and grey again for Watermelon, how would I do this:
AisleObjectAttribute1AppleRed1AppleRound1AppleSmall1OrangeOrange1OrangeRound1OrangeSmall2WatermelonGreen2WatermelonLarge

New onboarding flow to managing Android Enterprise devices with Microsoft Intune
By: Priya Ravichandran – Principal Product Manager | Microsoft Intune
A prerequisite to managing Android Enterprise devices with Microsoft Intune is that organizations must first complete a one-time onboarding process which requires admins to create and manage a consumer Gmail account. Starting in August 2024, this process will no longer require Gmail accounts. Instead, we’re happy to announce that admins will be able to use their existing Microsoft Entra credentials to complete this one-time onboarding.
Streamlined flow for new tenants
For tenants connecting or reconnecting your Microsoft Intune tenant to Managed Google Play, you can now use your Microsoft Entra credentials to complete the onboarding process. Let’s walk through the new flow.
As you work through the Prerequisites tab under Android enrollment, the new flow is invoked when you select “Launch Google to connect now”. At this point, a new tab is launched with the following screen. The Microsoft Entra credentials used to sign into the Microsoft Intune admin center will be pre-filled.
We recommend continuing with the prefilled identity and selecting the “Sign in with Microsoft” option that will follow.
The process may require email verification so if the identity or credentials used to sign in doesn’t have an email inbox, we recommend that you use a corporate email address with a mailbox to complete the onboarding. Once the onboarding flow is complete, you can add other Microsoft Intune administrators into the Google Admin console and grant them the right level of access to manage Google resources for your organization.
The Google Admin console wizard will guide you through the steps to create and set up your Google Admin account and allow Intune to manage your Android Enterprise devices.
At this point, the step to connect your Microsoft tenant to Google is complete and you can start enrolling and managing Android Enterprise devices with Microsoft Intune.
Migration for current Intune tenants
For Microsoft Intune customers who have already onboarded using a Gmail account, no changes are required, and you will continue to be supported.
If you decide to disconnect your Android Enterprise administrative account and reconnect, you will now have the option of using this new flow.
Important note: Disconnecting your Android Enterprise account will remove all your Managed Google Play apps and all managed Android Enterprise devices from your tenant.
We’re working with Google to finalize a process to migrate from your Gmail account to your Microsoft Entra credentials in a way that won’t interrupt how these devices are managed. We expect this migration process to be defined in Q1CY25, and we’ll share more information closer to that date.
What is this new Google Account?
As you may have noticed, the onboarding flow creates a Google account using your corporate email address. Admins can use their Microsoft Entra credentials to log in and manage the connection between Google and Microsoft Intune, as well as other Google features. Message submission rate – Avoid spam sending
Hello everyone!
I am looking for a way to set a limit on the number of messages sent per hour (or per minute) in Exchange 2016/2019. Analyzing the documentation below, I configured the Message rate limit per user, but it had no effect.
Ref: Message rate limits and throttling | Microsoft Learn
When sending a number of messages greater than the configured limit, we receive the message “4.4.2 Message submission rate for this client has exceeded the configured limit,” but all the messages are sent normally.
I would like to know if there is any way to limit the number of messages per account in order to prevent spam from being sent through our environment.
Any suggestions?
Tks!

Message Extension as Plugin for Copilot in Teams
Hi,
I’m creating a Message Extension as Plugin for Copilot in Teams and for the most part, it is working. But, I am facing an issue with parameter persistence. Here’s the example scenario:
I query, “What are the totals sale for Account X in 2022?” The parameters X and 2022 are successfully passed to the plugin (account and year)Copilot responds correctly and then asks if I want data for another year, asking, “Would you want another year?”I reply, “Yes, give me 2023.” Copilot acknowledges with, “Looking for total sales for Account X in 2023.”However, only 2023 is passed to the message plugin this time. Since the plugin requires both an account and a month to the function properly, it fails to return any data because the account parameter (X) isn’t passed again.
It seems like the issue is that subsequent queries do not retain the initially provided parameters. Does anyone have suggestions on how to ensure that both parameters are passed consistently, or is there a way to modify the plugin to retain the initial parameters for follow-up queries?
Thank you for your help!

Guest user can not edit message
I have guest user that is not able to edit their own message on Teams throughout https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/chats/ API.
This user can post/delete/add reaction to messages, but when trying to edit the message we are getting this error:
{“error”:{“code”:”Forbidden”,”message”:”AclCheckFailed”,”innerError”:{“code”:”60004″,”message”:”AclCheckFailed-Edit Message: Initiator (8:orgid:31a8f324-20b3-4105-a528-c2e555f16dd4) is is not allowed to edit message”,”date”:”2024-07-31T15:32:14″,”request-id”:”3834c83a-fbee-4e3d-880b-d067374759c9″,”client-request-id”:”3834c83a-fbee-4e3d-880b-d067374759c9″}}}
I used the exact same authentication token to create and edit the message, and this token has the right scopes granted:
ChannelMessage.ReadWrite ChannelMessage.Send Chat.ReadWrite Files.ReadWrite Team.ReadBasic.All User.Read
Is it possible that it could be caused by an specific setting for guest users? (eg: not alow guest user to edit message?) If so, where can I check this?
What other possible reasons can cause this? I couldn’t found anything related to this error on Microsoft docs.

Synapse Link Cosmos db – hierarchical partition key
Hi,
We are trying to implement the Synapse Link to Cosmos db. All has gone well until one container. We set the process off for this container about 7 hours ago, it still has not finished and the progress bar at the bottom has disappeared.
On the Azure Synapse Link blade, the container in question is greyed out.
The container is quite large – about 2 million documents with about 10 top level attributes which would become columns in Synapse but hundreds more attributes in complex objects.
The only other detail that I think is significant is that it has a hierarchical partition key. This has caused all sorts of issues already which is why I suspect that this is the reason that the link is either taking a very long time to enable or is going to not complete at all.
Firstly, is there any way to view the progress information other than the Azure Synapse Link blade?
Secondly, is the hierarchical nature of the partition key going to prevent us enabling the Synapse link on this container?
Finally, if the answer to my second point is no, then how long should I expect it to take to enable the link on a container of the size I have outlined?
(The container is displayed in the Synapse workspace but if I try to query it, I get the following message:
“Resolving CosmosDB path has failed with error ‘The analytical storage of collection ‘ServiceQuotes’ is pending migration at 0% completion. Please try again once the migration is complete.’.”
this is after 7 hours! I do know that progress bars can be notoriously inaccurate, but no progress at all in 7 hours!)
Any help would be much appreciated because this container is the most important of all the containers. In fact, it is the main reason we are enabling the link – so that we can view the financial information that it holds in near real-time.
Regards,
Chris
