synapse using tables instead?
Dears,
Hope this message finds you well
In my company (for which I was now contracted as IT architect) I can across something which seems unusual to me
I see the following architecture:
1 – Sources
2 – Datahub layer (theobald pulls information from SAP into this layer which sits in azure storage. The files generated by aecorsoft are CSV files)
3 – Raw layer (using data factory, files are moved into azure datalake gen 2)
4 – Standardized layer ( Inside , using data factory, files are converted to parquet into azure datalake gen 2)
5 – Historized layer ( triggered by data factory, using synapse sparks, the files are transformaed to have history using Delta file)
6 – Curated ( by data factory triggering, using synapse sparks, the files are transformed again into parquet files )
7 – Core ( by data factory triggering, using views in Azure SQL Server Managed Instance that have as source this parquet files , data is imported into tables).
There are more layers on top of this (after the core)..
But the reason why I am writting is not related with it.
Its instead related with movement from layer 5 (historized) into 6 (Curated).
As opposite to the others, this one does a full load, meaning, it gets the entire information which is on the deltas and , on a daily basis transforms it again into parquet.
There are some files which have 2B rows.. and many with 200M
This is a lot of information to be moved from one layer to the other and it does not seems reasonable to me.
I believe we should promote the incremental load for a daily basis. not this..
Now , what the team states is that this is because the views in use (on core layer) connect directly into parquet files and the parquet files and to generate this parquet files, it needs to be from the total …
I don’t think that we need to do this. We can for example, use synapse tables instead? to do the incremental load from historized to curated and then connect the views (which are in Core MI SQL Azure) into this tables, instead of having them connected into this parquet files.
What is your opinion and suggestions? can you please advice?

XLM Macros no longer able to edit at all?
After a lengthy Microsoft update today, I am unable to update an old XLM macro which has been working quite happily once a month up until now. I followed the instructions on the help as best I could ( there was no checkbox of ‘Enable Excel 4.0 macros when VBA macros are enabled) selected Enable all Macros and allow Editing. The macro still won’t run! I recorded this macro step be step many years ago and doubt if I can recreate it. HELP!!!

Upload a file/folder into a Loop page
Good morning, I have been reffered to this forum by a MS administrator in the Community forum.
My question is the following: I have read in some replies posted a year ago that it is possible to upload files in a page in a workspace in Loop. In theory, there is a button to do it, and you can also drag and drop.
But right now I don’t see how to do it, if that button were there I don’t see it. Is it possible now what I explained? How can I do it? I know I can add a link to my onedrive/sharepoint files, but it would be great if I just could have direct access to them insode the workspace.

Conditional Colour Formatting for cells in a coloum depending on match in another sheet

I am looking for advice on how to conditionally colour format multiple cells in a colomn depending on if they match with entries in another sheet.
I have two sheets where tags have been given to different papers. Each is assigned a colour (blue and green).
Sheet 1 (colour assigend: blue)
TitelTagsPaper 1Irrigation, water, agriculturePaper 2Precipitation, flood
Sheet 2 (colour assigned: green)
TitleTagsPaper 3Groundwater, agriculturePaper 4Precipitation, agriculture, drought
In a third sheet, I want to
(1) Combine the entries in both sheets, which I did with the VSTACK formula;
(2) Filter through the results according to the tags, which I did with the ISNUMBER and SEARCH formula;
(3) Have the title row in the resulting entries highlighted with fill colour, depending on the origin sheets’ colour (i.e., if entry(ies)( from sheet 1 = title cell(s) blue; entry(ies) from sheet 2 = title cell(s) green).
For (3), I tried to use Conditional Formatting -> Use formula … with different formulas, but do not manage to achieve what I am looking for. Either only one or all cells are coloured.
Has anyone a suggestion how to achieve (3), i.e., what formula to be used in conditional formating?
The result should look like this (example with agriculture as tag search term):
Search tag:agricultureTitleTagsPaper 1Irrigation, water, agriculturePaper 3Groundwater, agriculturePaper 4Precipitation, agriculture, drought
(where font colour is a substitute for fill color since fill colour seems not be supported in tables here).

Working in a column 1 where applying SUMIFS formula from another sheet having 51 different values. Among those 51 values I just need to see in Column1 upto sum 100 values.
For examples 1st,2nd and 3rd value which are 50,25,25 respectively make sum of 100 which is fine
but in some case 1st,2nd and 3rd value which are 50,35,35 respectively make sum of 110 so in this case how I can restrict sum to limit upto 100 only ?

Controlling chat with external consumer accounts, while still allowing meetings
The Teams admin centre has a switch for “People in my organization can communicate with Teams users whose accounts aren’t managed by an organization”.
I am expecting that if I disable this then my org users will no longer be able to chat with external consumer accounts like outlook, live, hotmail etc.
…but what is the implication for meetings? If I disable this setting and then try to invite a gmail or outlook consumer user to a scheduled Teams meeting… will that still work? I want to block the chat but not the scheduled meetings.
Also, I assume this does not affect chatting with consumer users (eg. gmail) who are already added as guests in a team… ? Can anyone confirm on that point? Thanks!

What is the right settings on a shared document (from OneDrive for businnes) to allow the someone outside the orcanisation to open and edit the document in his local Office app?

I’m looking for a way to export a Custom Web Part in SharePoint Online.
A old IT employee created a SharePoint Communication site with a lot of Custom Web Parts. This employee doesn’t work for the company anymore and i got the task to make some changes to the SharePoint Site/create a new site.
So i hope there is a way to export the custom webparts.
Does anyone know?
