Tab autocompletion worse/broken in Matlab 2026b command window for loops?

I have recently switched from Matlab 2024b to 2026a – and I have come across an issue that seems significantly worse on 2026a – this has to do with tab-autocompletions, specifically in a for loops on the command window.
I ran the following code:
a = {};
for i = 1:10
a{i}.i = i;
end
for i = 1:10
a{i}.<—tab complete here
end
%Note: ‘a{i}.’ autocompletes fine outside of the for loop in both 2024b and
%2026a
In Matlab 2024b that tab autocompletes succesfully to ‘a{i}.i’ but in 2026a that doesn’t tab-autocomplete at all (no suggestions of any kind). This makes using the command window way worse for the type of data that I work with which typically contains nested structures several levels deep – in the current implementation if I want to work with a for loop (which, obviously is very often) I have to memorize and type out that entire tree structure.
I have tried to research this issue online and have not found an actual solution. My tab autocomplete settings are also included below:
