Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Caused by NTFS Error Following Fresh Windows Installation
Could someone please assist me in analyzing a DMP file? I am struggling with this problem and it has been very frustrating. I have reinstalled Windows four times already, with the most recent installation involving the use of a secure erase program to completely wipe the drive before installation.

How to Turn Off Tooltip Popups
Is there a way to turn off the annoying tooltip popups or extend the delay before they appear? I frequently use notepad for quick notes, and I find it frustrating when the settings button pops up and obstructs my view every time I try to close the notepad. I know there are other notepad tools available, but this particular issue is most bothersome to me and illustrates the challenge I’m facing.

I wanted to share how helpful this forum has been in setting up a new computer for a friend. I encountered an issue but the community here provided the perfect solution. Thank you all!
For those facing a similar problem where hitting fn/f10 takes you to windows/system32 instead of the command prompt, here’s what you can do:
1. Change directories by typing “cd oobe”.
2. Run the bypass command.
I accidentally connected to wifi before running these steps, but afterwards, I was able to sign in without needing internet access. This tip was a lifesaver as I was working on a client’s computer late at night and couldn’t get all their email info. The workaround allowed me to proceed with my work without internet interruption.

Unable to enter Hardware Program to submit HLK package
Hi,
we are currently trying to submit HLK package and attempted to access Hardware program, which we registered quite some time ago. Unfortunately, we are getting error “Your organization already has an account. The Microsoft Entra tenant you are signed in to (email) is already associated with a Windows Hardware Developer Program account. If you need access to this account, contact your administrator.”, which makes sense, since I am not the the administrator. The problem is, that the person who initially registered us and is presumably the administrator left our company few years ago and we can’t really access his account.
We tried creating ticket with partner support, but the response we got back was “This account XXX has been suspended due to non-compliance with the hardware program. All partners are required to accept our current agreements and complete Account Verification successfully to be compliant. If you believe your account was suspended in error or can demonstrate your account is compliant, please provide evidence.”
When we asked for clarification what evidence we should present (and all the 4 consequent responses we sent), we got the identical message back basically getting us nowhere.
AFAIK, the “agreements” can be accepted only from the Hardware program interface, which we obviously can’t get into. Our Account Verification seems to be correct, because I can see we are authorized in all categories in our Account settings > Legal info.
Do you have any idea what any of this means and what do we actually need to do?
Best regards,
David

meeting registration: transcription starts everyway
Hello,
On the new Teams (educational) I can choose to start only the meeting registration but sadly also the transcription starts everyway and so I must manually stop it (if undesired).
In this case I obtain also a bothersome void file of the “stopped” transcription.
Is it a Teams bug or can I configure my Teams app for avoiding the transcriptions?
Thanks a lot in advance for the reply,
Fabiano

XDR Critical asset management – Custom classifications not picking up assets
Hi community,
I tried creating a number of Custom classifications. For example, by creating a filter on Identity -> AD Roles, or Cloud resource -> Category -> virtual_machine.
When previewing the filter during creation, it displays the desired results. The classifications are created without any errors.
But when I go back after refreshing the page, the Custom classifications I just created contain “0” resources. Clicking any classification , on the Assets tab, they show zero members (assets).
What did I do wrong?
Best Regards,
Andy

script to delete specific versions of files under a specic location folder (and all subfolders)
I’m searching for a solution to point out to our SysAdmins for a script that does the following in bulk for a specific folder, all sub folders and all files within that folder in a Sharepoint location:
1 – Evaluate version date/hour of all files listed;
2 – Delete all duplicate versions with the same timestamp (a copy batch on a desktop synced hundreds of version copies with the exact same date/hour size for thousands of files and populated hundreds of equal versions per file of some file types for MS apps);
3 – While keeping always the 1st version and the later version of each day until a specific predefined date for each run, delete all version in between.
Is this possible to implement in a script and run regularly to a different threshold date each time?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Can’t open Settings app in Win11 24H2 without disabling UAC
I tried upgrading one of our test computers here from Win11 23H2 to 24H2 yesterday. Install ran normally, but when I tried to open the settings app afterwards, it just sits there with the gear icon in the middle of the window and eventually disappears. Found the error in the screen shot in the event log. Tried the same upgrade on another test computer with the same result. Ran all the usual DI_SM (why is that command not permitted in here!!!) and SFC checks which found no problems or if they did, the fixes had no effect on the problem. Also ran a few Powershell commands to reset/reinstall the windows.immersivecontrolpanel package, still no changes.
At this point I wanted to narrow down exactly what was causing the problem, so I wiped one of the test computers and reinstalled 24H2 from scratch on it. After doing so, the settings app worked fine. Ran through my usual new computer setup process, testing the settings app after each step. It stopped working as soon as I joined the computer to our local domain. With this new piece of information, I did some more Googling and found someone that had run into the exact same problem back in 2023. The “fix” they found was to disable UAC by using RegEdit to set HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystemEnableLUA to 0. I tried that and the settings app now works. Obviously, that’s not a real solution for the problem.
I’ve also tried removing all GPOs that I can (meaning all except domain-wide ones) and that didn’t help. I’m in the midst of looking at the domain-wide policies now, but I don’t even know if I should be looking at an existing policy, or a policy that isn’t being set. Kinda like looking for a needle in a haystack. Also tried it with a local computer admin account and that had the same problem.
Has anyone else seen this and if so, have you found a resolution that doesn’t involve completely disabling an important security feature?

Vulnerabilities Introduced in CNAB after using cpa buildbundle
Hi, this is my first post here. I am following the instructions in the article Prepare your Azure container technical assets for a Kubernetes application – Marketplace publisher |…
I used the command cpa buildbundle to build and upload the CNAB to my Azure Container Registry (ACR), but the Defender scan shows vulnerabilities in the CNAB bundle, even though my solution image is free of vulnerabilities. I also scanned the image with Trivy and found Critical and high vulnerabilities in Helm 3, kubectl, and the Docker Engine (Moby).
The approach mentioned in the technical asset mounts the Docker engine of the host machine to the Microsoft’s image mcr.microsoft.com/container-package-app:latest. My host machine has the Community Edition of Docker Engine, yet the Moby issue persists
.
Inside the container, I tried running `tdnf clean all && tdnf update`, which updated Moby, but I was unable to update kubectl and Helm.
Should I be concerned about these vulnerabilities? I believe they may have been introduced by the CPA tool. The documentation states that for marketplace listings, the repository must be free of vulnerabilities. Additionally, it mentions in the limitations section that single containers are not supported, and my current offering contains only single image.
Any tips on how I can address this issue or any remediation steps would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Asif

SharePoint Roadmap Pitstop: September 2024
If you’re into the whole fiscal thing, know that the SharePoint and partner teams are kicking off FY25-Q2 with feature enhancements, AI milestones, and roadmap announcements. That’s what is called, “Being tech-fiscally responsible.”
September 2024 brought a few nice updates and some key disclosures—SharePoint: Brand center, Copilot in OneDrive (GA), Copilot in SharePoint: Text web part, Microsoft 365 Copilot: Wave 2 news, Bing Generative Search news, Microsoft Delve retirement, Microsoft AI Tour Live updates, completion of the Microsoft Loop Learning Series, and more. Details and screenshots below, including our audible companion: The Intrazone Roadmap Pitstop: Month 2024 podcast episode – all to help answer, “What’s rolling out now for SharePoint and related technologies into Microsoft 365?”
All features listed below began rolling out to Targeted Release customers in Microsoft 365 as of September 2024 (possibly early October 2024).
Inform and engage with dynamic employee experiences
Build your intelligent intranet on SharePoint in Microsoft 365 and get the benefits of investing in business outcomes – reducing IT and development costs, increasing business speed and agility, and up-leveling the dynamic, personalized, and welcoming nature of your intranet.
SharePoint: Manage your organization’s brand in the new Brand center
The SharePoint brand center introduces a central location for your organization to manage and create brand assets for Microsoft 365. The new Brand center brings together the power of your organization asset libraries and your organization’s brand assets to create and manage product application of your brand into Microsoft 365 products. And it happens in one location while also providing a location to create product specific brand application scenarios.
Our goal is to empower brand managers or designated users to create and manage the brand assets needed to customize SharePoint and Viva Connections starting with custom fonts, colors & themes, and brand images. Once you have completed the setup of your SharePoint Brand center, you can manage access to the Brand center app by customizing the site permissions of the Brand center site. Site owners will have access to the Brand center app.

Microsoft 365 Copilot | Wave 2
On Sept. 16, Microsoft hosted a special event with two Microsoft leaders, Satya Nadella and Jared Spataro, to focus on the next phase of Microsoft 365 Copilot innovation. Copilot is rapidly becoming an organizing layer for work, how work gets done, transforming the work, workflow, and work artifacts for more than 400 million people who use Microsoft 365.
To quote Satya, “You can think of Copilot as the UI for AI. It helps you break down these silos between your work artifacts, your communications, and your business processes. And we are just getting started.”

Copilot Pages | These are dynamic, persistent canvas designed for multiplayer AI collaboration. You and your team can work collaboratively in a page with Copilot, seeing everyone’s work in real time and iterating with Copilot like a partner, adding more content from your data, files, and the web to your Page. This is an entirely new work pattern—multiplayer, human-to-AI-to-human collaboration. Copilot Pages are .loop files. Copilot Pages are stored in a new user-owned SharePoint Embedded container, one per user. For a full IT perspective on Copilot Pages, I’ll direct your attention to my peer, Dan Costenaro’s in-depth blog: Copilot pages for IT Admins – Sep 2024 update
Copilot in Excel | Now you can work with data that hasn’t been formatted as a table. We’ve added new skills to tap into the full power of Excel with support for more formulas like XLOOKUP and SUMIF; conditional formatting; and the ability to iterate with Copilot on visualizations like charts and PivotTables to fit your needs. And Copilot in Excel can now work with text, in addition to numerical, data. This, too, combines the power of Python—one of the world’s most popular programming languages for working with data—within the Copilot in Excel experience. Now, anyone can work with Copilot to conduct advanced analysis like forecasting, risk analysis, machine learning, and visualizing complex data—all using natural language, no coding required.
Copilot in PowerPoint | Narrative builder in Microsoft PowerPoint helps you work with Copilot like a partner, iterating together to build a great first draft in minutes while keeping you in control of the creative process. There will be integration with what I highlighted earlier, with Brand manager; where Copilot can leverage your company’s branded template, so your presentations are enterprise-ready and on-brand. And soon, Copilot will pull in company-approved images from your SharePoint Organization Asset Library.
Copilot agents in SharePoint | A new experience that enables any user to quickly create and share agents right from within SharePoint for specific purposes. With a few clicks, you can create and share a Copilot agent in SharePoint―no coding skills required, all while respecting the organization’s security policies. These agents can work on your behalf answering questions about source material, reasoning over that material, and acting like a well-informed teammate.
Copilot agents in SharePoint will enter public preview in early October; learn more.

Bing Generative Search (disclosure)
Bing utilizes AI to deliver a truly unique experience by not only optimizing the search results but also how those results appear in a cohesive layout. You can explore the look, feel, and capabilities of generative search in Bing in the US by simply typing “Bing generative search” into the search bar. You’ll be met with a carousel of queries to select and demo, allowing you to experience how generative search can deliver more relevant and comprehensive answers for a wide range of topics.
Microsoft Loop Learning Series | All six sessions now on demand, including the most recent addition: “Microsoft Loop IT governance and management controls”
This webinar featured Dan Costenaro, Abi Suresh, and Akanksha Rakesh – Covering the latest admin capabilities for managing Microsoft Loop – sharing and showing more of what IT Pros need to know about Loop + SharePoint: That’s clarity on where loops are stored, details about data lifecycle governance, auditing, eDiscovery, DLP, sensitivity labels, PowerShell commands, and more.
Note: We’ve updated Ron Pessner’s blog with all embedded, “NOW ON DEMAND | Microsoft Loop Learning Series [Six webinars]”; Ron is our Loop CVP and this blog post now represents a wealth of knowledge sharing from the whole Loop product team.
Delve retirement | December 16, 2024
On December 16, 2024, Delve will be retired. When we say we’re retiring Delve, it’s important to note that we’re not changing or retiring anything on the services side. Both documents and people data that are surfaced in Delve will continue to be stored and managed as today. And much of the value carries forward in the broad People profile experience, aka, people cards, throughout Microsoft 365 – including upcoming people card updates to enable some of the specific profile editing that was previously done in Delve profiles.
Microsoft has been working on new technologies like Microsoft Search, people cards, interacting with Copilot, favorites in OneDrive, and more – all live on beyond Delve, often closer to where you are working. Any Delve-specific data lists – such as list of users recently viewed in Delve, Delve favorite documents, Delve favorite tags – can be exported before December 16, 2024, in Delve by going to Select settings > Feature settings > Export data.
So, after Dec. 16, 2024, Delve will no longer be included in Microsoft 365 and will no longer be supported. Until then, support for Delve will continue and users can expect the same experience as today.

perfctl: A Stealthy Malware Targeting Millions of Linux Servers
In this blog post, Aqua Nautilus researchers aim to shed light on a Linux malware that, over the past 3-4 years, has actively sought more than 20,000 types of misconfigurations in order to target and exploit Linux servers. If you have a Linux server connected to the internet, you could be at risk. In fact, given the scale, we strongly believe the attackers targeted millions worldwide with a potential number of victims of thousands, it appears that with this malware any Linux server could be at risk.

Make an offset on a stl file like with the multicuboid function
Hello eveyrone,
I have this stl file below and I would like to do a layer of a different material as with the offset of the multicuboid function.
I don’t know if it is possible to do it with an stl file.
I also made a canteliver with the multicuboid function with a layer on top of a different material but I don’t succeed to make "holes" to reproduce this structure. I tried with the addVoid function but it doesn’t work.
Here is the beginning of the code with the multicuboid function :
clc
clear vars
close all
% Create a PDE model for a modal analysis
modelModal_TP2 = createpde("structural","modal-solid");
% Dimensions of the canteliver
L = 75e-6;
l = 9e-6;
h = 1.2e-6;
% Geometry of the canteliver
gm1 = multicuboid(L,l,h);
% Geometry to do the hole in the first geometry
gm2 = multicuboid(45e-6,3e-6,h);
translate(gm2,[-15e-6 0 0]);
% g3 = addVoid(gm,gm1);
figure;
pdegplot(gm1)
hold on
pdegplot(gm2)
% figure;
% pdegplot(g3,"FaceLabels","on")

Thank you in advance Hello eveyrone,
I have this stl file below and I would like to do a layer of a different material as with the offset of the multicuboid function.
I don’t know if it is possible to do it with an stl file.
I also made a canteliver with the multicuboid function with a layer on top of a different material but I don’t succeed to make "holes" to reproduce this structure. I tried with the addVoid function but it doesn’t work.
Here is the beginning of the code with the multicuboid function :
clc
clear vars
close all
% Create a PDE model for a modal analysis
modelModal_TP2 = createpde("structural","modal-solid");
% Dimensions of the canteliver
L = 75e-6;
l = 9e-6;
h = 1.2e-6;
% Geometry of the canteliver
gm1 = multicuboid(L,l,h);
% Geometry to do the hole in the first geometry
gm2 = multicuboid(45e-6,3e-6,h);
translate(gm2,[-15e-6 0 0]);
% g3 = addVoid(gm,gm1);
figure;
pdegplot(gm1)

pdegplot(gm2)
% figure;
% pdegplot(g3,"FaceLabels","on")

Variables Window – Table / TimeTable Wrap, no horizontal scroll Option?
As you can see from a screen shot below, if you make a time table (or table) that has a high number of rows and columbs and open that table in the variales window it is very difficult to read due to Matlab wrapping the columbs.
I havn’t been able to find anywhere in the settings where I can enable/disable this wapping feature from happening, where when disabled there the variables window would show a horizontal scroll when a table was opened with more columbs that could be displayed in the window.
Just imagine for a min if you had a table with 100+ columbs, and 1000+ rows, that would be near imposible to read using Matlab’s built in variables window, you would need to save it off to view it in excel. This doesn’t seem very friendly for debugging.
A second note, I found that the tables will only show a limited number of rows. In this example the variables window only goes up to the 54th row. Is there a way to view a table in the matlab variables window, and be able to scrow down through all the rows. The only way I can think to see what is in the table visually is by creating a new table with only 54 user selected rows (doesn’t seem very clean).
If there is any existing features that would adress some of these issues which I am missing, please let me know.As you can see from a screen shot below, if you make a time table (or table) that has a high number of rows and columbs and open that table in the variales window it is very difficult to read due to Matlab wrapping the columbs.

Converting symbolic ODE solution to function … Warnings

cond = y(x0)==y0;
