I recently conducted a Site Scan on my WordPress blog that was deindexed, indexed, and now deindexed again.
One issue is telling me…
Blocked by Robots.txt ***Red Error with 99 pages affected.
This points to all my affiliate URLs used as redirects stored in my /goto/ directory.
For example: https://mywebsite(dot)com/goto/articlepost
The 99 affiliate URL redirects like the above are blocked from the search engines. I made sure of this.

Use Conditional Formatting to Highlight Cell Past the Date
Hello! I have a spreadsheet with task assignments for my team. It is a table.
Column A is the name of the person assigned, header is Marketing Advisor.
Column B is the date they were assigned, column title is Assigned Date.
Column C is a formula of =[@[Assigned Date]]+7. Column title is Due Date.
Column D is the date it was completed, titled Completed Date
I would like to use conditional formatting to highlight the Due Date in red if it is past the due date and no completed date is entered. Is this something I can do? If so, can you please provide the formula?

How to automatically change a number format of a new document inserted into the existing document?
Let’s say both document 1 & 2 has a list of steps numbered in the 1.1, 1.2, 1.3… format each.
Now I want to merge document 2 in doc 1 such that the numbering format of doc 2 automatically changes to 2.1, 2.2, 2.3….
The merged doc should look something like:
DOC1
1.1
1.2
1.3
…
DOC2
2.1
2.2
2.3
….
(and if I want to merge more docs)
(Optional) DOC3
3.1
3.2
3.3
etc.
Is there a way to automatically change the numbering of the inserted docs from the 1. to the 2. format? A Microsoft agent mentioned that I may need to automate this using VBAcode, but I have never used it before. Please guide me with this.

PowerShell script for permissions
Hello Folks,
My team came across a situation where we need to fix/assign permissions to folders and subfolders beneath.
Problem statement: There are number of shared folders on servers which are going to migrate to SharePoint soon. We have been asked to assign permissions to users who will be doing the migration. We tried it with PowerShell but sooner faced a blocker. On multiple folders (cannot count as there are so many) we do not have access.
Our requirement: We are looking for a readymade script or directions using PowerShell where we should be able to identify folders on which our group do not have access and grant us access to those folders. Same script should be able to assign permissions for other users and groups who will be doing the migration.
Note: My team members are part of Local Admin group and can do this manually. But number of folders and in thousands. So doing it manually is not advisable.
Any quick help in this regard will be much appreciated.

Get-EXO cmdlets all cause errors.
When connecting to Exchange Online and running an EXO command I am seeing some strange errors which cause the connection to Exchange online to fail.

Change the subject of a Booking
I have an educational situation where they Instructors need the ability to change the subject of the booking to include some custom answers. I’ve already tried to automate this but no luck. The Instructor has been making duplicate copies of the bookings in her calendar so she can update, but this is not ideal. Any suggestions?

HPC databases service broker requirements
Hello,
Working as an OPS engineer on our off the shelf application which also uses HPC. Our security team found that service broker is enabled on all HPC databases. I’ve looked into it and to me it doesn’t seem to need this service to be enabled. There are no queues, services, messages etc. setup except for the system provided stuff.
Is it required for HPC to have service broker enabled on the databases?

News copy – Date
If I copy news, I get a new publication date, which is fine, but the new article may not appear in the news web part because the first publication date is too long ago. Can I change the first publication date for the copy or set the news web part to sort chronologically by publication date and not by creation date? (But that would also mean that it would be re-sorted with each new publication…that wouldn’t be a solution either) Does anyone have any advice? 🙂 Thanks!

Improve operational efficiency with Cross-Location Open Shifts
We’re excited to introduce the cross-location shifts feature in Microsoft Shifts app, designed to enhance flexibility and efficiency for both frontline managers and workers. Currently in public preview, this feature empowers businesses to better manage staffing across multiple locations while giving employees more control over their schedules.
For Frontline Managers
With cross-location shifts, managers can offer open shifts across various teams and locations, helping to balance workforce needs, fill last-minute gaps, and improve customer satisfaction. By turning on the cross-location feature in Shifts settings, managers can post open shifts that employees from other locations can request, ensuring their store or site is always fully staffed.
Managers will be notified when employees from other locations request shifts and can easily approve or decline requests. Once approved, workers from other locations will appear in your schedule as external employees, making it seamless to track staff across locations.
For Frontline Workers
The cross-location feature provides more flexibility for employees, allowing them to pick up open shifts at different locations that suit their schedules. Workers can view open shifts at other sites and submit a request to pick up the shift. Once approved by the manager at that location, the shift will appear in their schedule.

SharePoint List is invalid

Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated.
Several users on our tenant (over the past couple of weeks) have complained about receiving the error, ‘SharePoint List is invalid’, when attempting to open a folder.
Now first off, they’re not actually in a list, in each documented case, the user has always been attempting to open a folder.
This issue can be remedied by refreshing (or selecting ‘Retry’) on the page itself, although this can take several minutes to remedy.
It’s by no means major issue but users are worrying regarding the time it make ‘strike’ as a few minutes of wiating mid-meeting could feel like forever.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has encountered this.
Some potentially important information:
– There are 45,000 files on that site (read about there being a 5,000 view limit on lists, but this is a doc library).
– The view used is the default (All Documents).
– The folders users have been attempting to access have contained as few as one file in it.
– Refreshing generally fixes the issue quite quickly.

Setting server roles in Azure SQL
I am setting up a new Azure SQL database server with Entra security. I am having trouble adding a user to the database manager server role.
I add the login in the master database like this:
CREATE LOGIN [email address removed for privacy reasons] FROM EXTERNAL PROVIDER
I then add the login to the server roles like this:
ALTER SERVER ROLE ##MS_DatabaseConnector## ADD MEMBER [email address removed for privacy reasons]
ALTER SERVER ROLE ##MS_DatabaseManager## ADD MEMBER [email address removed for privacy reasons]
ALTER SERVER ROLE ##MS_DefinitionReader## ADD MEMBER [email address removed for privacy reasons]
ALTER SERVER ROLE ##MS_LoginManager## ADD MEMBER [email address removed for privacy reasons]

(I am creating a sysadmin login, hence all of the roles.)
There are no errors reported.
When a CREATE DATABASE is run when logged in email address removed for privacy reasons the following error is reported:
Msg 262, Level 14, State 1, Line 1
CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database ‘master’.
I have obviously left a step out, but in looking at MS and other documents, I can’t see what it is.

wof compression not working on Server 2019, compact /exe:lzx
Hi!
Got this oddity where it works on some 2019 but not others.
It’s volumes that support compression.
compact /c .textfile.txt
Compressing files in E:test
textfile.txt 80510 : 20480 = 3,9 to 1 [OK]
Works.
But this doesn’t
compact /c /exe:lzx .textfile.txt
Compressing files in E:test
textfile.txt [ERR]
textfile.txt: The file system does not support compression.
Found another tool that gives a little bit more / other info.

Hi! Got this oddity where it works on some 2019 but not others.It’s volumes that support compression. compact /c .textfile.txt
Compressing files in E:test
textfile.txt 80510 : 20480 = 3,9 to 1 [OK] Works. But this doesn’t compact /c /exe:lzx .textfile.txt

Addon for Outlook 365 which opens the contact on a call
Hello, I am looking for an addon that accesses the phone numbers of the FritzBox and recognizes when a call is signaled.
Then it should look for the customer under contacts. If this was found, it should open it and offer me a function to store information about the call in the note field. At the beginning it should enter the abbreviated name of the user + date and time. This used to work with Fritzbox DingBums but was unfortunately discontinued. Is there an alternative?

Introduce use of paths and wildcards in Edge automatic profile switching
Having users with work accounts in different tenants I like to opt for the following feature requests on the automatic profile switching list in Edge:
Give users the ability to use wildcards for website hosts. Any host within a domain will open the selected profile so it is not necessary to create and manage multiple websites on that listOn the list allow paths in the website like login.microsoftonline.com/{tenantId} to automatically switch to the profile of the user that the tenant belongs to
