Calendar sharing with external organization
Hello,
Because of some questions in our organization I’m looking in calendar sharing with other organizations. Currently we have setup a relationship with some other organizations, where limited information is shared (time only).
For a group of users we want to share more information, also the subject has to be visible. Is it possible to configure this for a group of users? Or do we have to do that with individual sharing?
Another question from this group is to enable sharing calendars, so the external users can manage the calendar. Is this also possible? As I read the documentation, it is only possible to share information. And not that it is possible that someone outside the organization can manage the calendar. Is that correct?
Kind regards,
Arjan

Outlook adding a series of numbers @shadow.outlook.com to email
Hi,
I primarily use Outlook for Mac as my email client. Recently, it has started adding a long series of numbers and @shadow.outlook.com to the end of my emails, which I suspect affects deliverability and looks awful.
My emails are going to clients like this:
email address removed for privacy reasons
<email address removed for privacy reasons>
I use IMAP as my domain is hosted via Siteground.
I’ve found some advice online but it applies to Windows and I am on a Mac.
Do you have any idea how I can fix this?

My Website is not getting Indexed on Bing
I’ve been trying for the past month to get my website indexed by Bing, but nothing’s working. My site has a robots.txt, a sitemap, and it’s already indexed by Google. I’ve used IndexNow and followed the Webmaster Guidelines. Bing just says the URL is known but has issues preventing it from being indexed, and they suggest following their guidelines to improve my chances. I’ve reached out to support multiple times but only get automated replies. It’s really frustrating because others are facing the same problem, yet Microsoft seems to ignore it and shuts down threads on the issue. I’m raising this question again, hoping someone can help.

Generative AI with JavaScript FREE course
Generative AI has come a long way in just two years, revolutionizing industries and unlocking new possibilities for developers across the globe. What initially started as a niche field primarily dominated by research and Python-based machine learning has quickly become a mainstream technology that’s reshaping how we approach creativity, automation, and interaction. But what’s even more exciting is how accessible this technology has become for developers from all backgrounds—especially JavaScript developers! :party_popper:
Today, generative AI isn’t just about building complex models in Python. The real magic happens when these models are integrated into applications that users interact with every day, and that’s where JavaScript comes in. As the web’s most widely used programming language, JavaScript plays a pivotal role in how developers build and scale generative AI-powered apps for the browser, mobile, and even server-side environments.
Introducing Generative AI with JavaScript
We built our new content series, Generative AI with JavaScript, to help you harness this power. Whether you’re a web developer curious about AI or an experienced coder looking to leverage generative AI in your projects, this series will walk you through everything you need to know: from connecting to APIs and working with large language models (LLMs), to building sophisticated, AI-driven applications using popular tools like LangChain.js and Azure.
You can access the full series for free on our YouTube playlist, where you’ll find videos around 10 minutes long, each focusing on a specific topic.
Watch: Generative AI with JavaScript
We’ve made each video self-contained, so you can watch them in any order that suits your learning style, though we chose and ordered them to provide a smooth learning curve if you’re new to generative AI.
Learn, share & teach
The videos are only one part of the learning experience! 😉
We tried to pair each topic with interactive demos, code samples, and additional resources to help you dive deeper into the subject. You can find all these resources in the video descriptions but we also gathered everything in a dedicated GitHub repository: https://github.com/microsoft/generative-ai-with-javascript
In this repo, you’ll find:
Links to all the videos in the series
Slides and transcripts for all sessions, to use as foundation for your own talks
Demo and code samples to get hands-on experience
Project examples and starter kits to help you get use Gen AI in your projects
Additional resources to learn more about generative AI
We wanted to make sure you have everything you need to learn the concepts, share your knowledge with others, and even teach your own workshops or courses. Feel free to reuse any of the content in your own presentations, blog posts, or videos!

Announcement: Introducing the Logic Apps Hybrid Deployment Model (Public Preview)
Introducing the Logic Apps Hybrid Deployment Model
We are excited to announce the launch of the Logic Apps Hybrid Deployment Model, a new feature that empowers our customers with additional flexibility and control. This new offering allows you to build and deploy workflows that run on customer-managed infrastructure, providing you with the option to run Logic Apps on-premises, in a private cloud, or even in a third-party public cloud.
With the Logic Apps Hybrid Deployment Model, you can tailor your integration solutions to meet your specific needs, whether it’s for regulatory compliance, data privacy, or network restrictions. This model ensures that you have the freedom to choose the best environment for your workflows, while still leveraging the powerful capabilities of Azure Logic Apps.
The Hybrid Deployment Model supports a semi-connected architecture. What this means is that you get local processing of workflows, the data processed by the workflows remains in your local SQL Server and also provides you the ability to connect to local networks. Since the Hybrid Deployment Model is based upon Logic Apps Standard, the built-in connectors will execute in your local compute giving you access to local data sources and higher throughput.
In some scenarios, you will need connectivity to external resources such as SaaS based systems like Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Dataverse. For these use cases, you can leverage our large library of Azure connectors to fulfil this need. You will also require internet connectivity to manage your Logic App from the Azure Portal. But, the semi-connected nature of our platform allows you to absorb temporary internet connectivity issues.
Hybrid Deployment Model Use Cases
During our early access preview, we had the opportunity to work with many customers to better understand their needs. The usage patterns that we encountered typically fall into the following segments:
Billing Model Introduced
A billing model has been introduced to support the Hybrid Deployment Model. Since a customer is running these workloads on their managed infrastructure, customers are responsible for their Kubernetes infrastructure such as AKS or AKS-HCI (more distributions to come). A customer is also responsible for providing a SQL Server license for their runtime data storage needs. Beyond these pre-requisites, there is a charge per vCPU/hour charge of $0.18 (USD) to support the Logic Apps workloads. This allows customers to pay for just what they need and scale their resources as needed to support dynamic workloads, without the need to ‘buy for peak’ usage. For scenarios where customers need Azure/managed connectors (like Office 365, Microsoft Teams), existing usage billing applies for those executions.
Additional Resources

Working with Copilot Pages
Copilot Pages are part of the September 2024 Copilot Wave 2 announcement. They’re a good way to capture the text generated by Copilot in response to a prompt. Each Copilot page is a Loop component stored in a SharePoint Embedded container. Figuring out how to manage these containers will take a little time, especially as Microsoft hasn’t yet delivered the APIs needed to do the job.

Ever since I updated to Windows 11 Home Insider Preview Evaluation copy. Build 27723.rs_prerelease.241004-1602 my built in laptop speaker has been staticy and audio has been out of sync, such as lips not being synced up on YouTube videos for example. This hasn’t happened until this update and it’s not an internal hardware issue cuz I checked this is definitely just an issue with this update.

Issues with Flow – Inbox Triage (Check for list of codes from subject field > Actions)
Good morning, I’m hoping I can get some help on my flow.
Basically, I have a sharepoint list that contains 3 columns. A title, codes and a description.
When a new email arrives in shared inbox, I want to get the emails, get the sharepoint list items and then use a condition to check the subject line within the email for any matches within the items from the sharepoint list using the column titled ‘Code’ – The instruction is ‘Contains’ because in general, all of the emails have a lengthy subject line, however within that subject line will be the ‘Code’ (usually a 3 letter acronym, but always consistent with the codes within the list)
If one of the subject lines contains a ‘code’ within the list, then do the following actions –
Flag the email
Move the email to another folder within the inbox
Send a message via a group chat within teams with some basic information including the subject line of the email, the title, code and description columns of the item its matched against.
My current issue – Despite using the option ‘Contains’ within the condition, it appears the Condition will only trigger if an email is sent with just the 3 letter code in the subject line. If I were to have a subject such as ‘Hello my email is ABC’ (abc being the code) – the condition will not trigger. But if I just use a subject line of ‘ABC’ then it triggers. My flow is below –

SharePoint Migration Tool – File Server migration behavior
How much disk space do you need when using SPMT to migrate file server content to SharePoint Online? The documentation recommends 150 GB. However, my experience has been that the agents run out of disk space if the source exceeds the available disk space.
I would have expected content to be packaged and uploaded in batches, so that agents don’t need to store all of the migrated content. If I look into the MigrationToolStorage folder on an agent, I can see that it creates separate pack directories. However, it keeps doing this until it runs out of space. The migration job then fails with the error “Temporary storage on your local computer is too low”.
For the current migration job, I paused it just before the agent ran out of space. At that point, there were 30 separate pack folders on the agent, using 117 GB of storage. It took around 30 minutes after pausing for these folders to get processed and removed. My current plan is to keep pausing the migration job when disk space is low until all the data has been migrated. However, I would have expected SPMT to cater for this scenario automatically.
The ethernet connection on the agent is running at a steady 380 Mbps, so it doesn’t appear to be a bottleneck. I have configured two agents, but only one appears to be used. This may be because I am only executing a single migration job.

How to secure erase hard drive on Windows 10 computer before donation?
Hi,
I bought a new Windows 11 laptop and I’m planning to donate a Windows 10 device to a local church and want to make sure the hard drive is securely erased before handing it over. I understand that simply deleting files or formatting the drive may not be enough to fully protect my data from being recovered.
What is the best way to secure erase hard drive in Windows 10 so that no personal information can be retrieved? I’m looking for an easy-to-follow solution that ensures the data is irrecoverable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

STOP FORCING THE NEW OUTLOOK ON OUR DEVICES
I’m happy with the ORIGINAL Windows Mail having a simple UI and having no ads (unlike this new Outlook with ads that look like emails), and to rub salt in the wound, it doesn’t even give the option to migrate Mail settings and accounts over.
And Microsoft decides to force this on Windows users, every time you open Mail now it installs itself automatically, even after uninstalling it repeatedly. And on Windows 11 it UNPINS THE MAIL APP AND PINS ITSELF TO THE TASKBAR.
This is for all intents and purposes, malware. Either make it OPTIONAL to install, or completely remove this from existence.
This past year of Microsoft blatantly flipping off its users is making me move to Linux once Win10 is out the door. I’m sick of it.

How to get the data from other sheet based on the their corresponding names
Hi,
I am having an issue on how to formulate these on my excel file:
Ex
Sheet 1
Fruits Sold Remaining Delivery Total Vendor’s Name
apples 2 5 0 7 Mark
oranges 5 6 2 13 Angel
peaches 10 3 1 14 Mark
Sheet 2
Vendors Name: Mark
Fruits Sold Remaining Delivery Total
? ? ? ? ?
How can I formulate sheet 2 based on changing the Vendor’s name and it automatically gets the data from sheet 1 and fills the corresponding columns on sheet 2? I tried INDEX and MATCH but it only get the first item and when I drag it, it doesn’t get other data based on the name.
Thank you.
