Autoupdate for Mac – infinite loop – wrongly claims background tasks not allowed
When I choose “Check for Updates” in Word or Excel Autoupdate opens looking like this:
After a while, it looks like this:
I click on “Settings” and find that all 3 Microsoft background tasks are allowed. When I click on the Autoupdate dialog it redisplays the open Settings dialog. There is no way to dismiss that dialog. Only choice is to force quit Autoupdate.
I have:
downloaded and installed Autoupdate v4.75 (I think the lastest);followed advice here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365/autoupdate-for-mac-is-not-working/m-p/2396203/highlight/true#M42902.
Still, Autoupdate does not see that the background tasks are allowed. What else can I do to get Autoupdate working ?
