windows update is hung during 21H2 to 22H2
I bought a used machine on ebay. It came yesterday and as I opened the cover, it started asking questions – “the progressive” I will call it.
At the end of the progressive, it said it was going to download some updates after it rebooted.
During the progressive I was only given the option to run WiFi, so that’s what it used to download what turned out to be a very large update. That was unfortunate, because this laptop has an Ethernet port, and I have the infrastructure to connect it.
The update turned out to be 21H2 -> 22H2. I didn’t check if the updates were done when it was time to go to bed. I assumed they were. I turned off the machine and retired for the evening.
When I turned it on again this morning, Windows Update said it had completed the Update – 100%, but that line was grayed out.
The remaining programs were grayed out stating they were waiting for the main update to complete.
I would like help to get everything running.
Another option would be to reset everything and start over. Actually that looks like the shortest option at the moment.
And is tempting, but I will wait for your input before proceeding.

protection.outlook.com holds the emails without any NDR

I hope you’re doing well. I have an issue and am asking you to help me to find a resolution. Any help is appreciated.
We are working with other companies and send emails every day to them with different types of attachments like .xlsx, PDF, etc.
Some of these companies are hosted by outlook.com for their email service and we have this issue there.
All of them that are hosted by protection.outlook.com can not receive our emails. Outlook.com holds our emails in the queue and doesn’t deliver our emails to the recipient. It happens just for emails with any type of attachments. All emails without attachments will be delivered. Also, outlook doesn’t send us any NDR email or answer with information, why it holds the emails in the qeue.
We use another smart spam service (ProofPoint) and all these emails are considered as clean and delivered to the destination. (protection.outlook.com).
All brands that are hosted by hosting services other than outlook.com receive the same emails without any issues.
Additional info is that we have all the necessary security items like DMARC, SPF records, etc and I checked our IPs in the Blacklist of spam checkers.
I appreciate any help or information which helps us to find the reason for this problem.

How do you clean dirty monitors and UPS?
I’m preparing to move a few monitors and a UPS from my old apartment, which are quite dusty and might have mold spores due to a mold issue there. Although the monitors themselves don’t seem to have visible mold, I want to ensure everything is thoroughly cleaned before bringing them into my new apartment.
To clean them, I plan to set up a 4-foot folding table and place all the items on it for easier access. The monitor screens are in good condition, but the cables, wires, and the UPS (which was on the floor) are very dirty.
For safety and to avoid transferring any mold or dust, I’ll wear nitrile gloves. But I’m trying to decide on the best cleaning tools and solutions. Should I use a microfiber cloth, sponge, or paper towels? And for the cleaning solution, would vinegar and water, 70% isopropyl alcohol, or something like Lysol wipes be more effective? How to open slots in bookings for time zone different from your account time zone?
I’m an HR intern trying to set-up Microsoft bookings for scheduling of round 1 and round 2 interviews.
For context, we do our round 1 interview every Thursday. We block certain time of the day to accommodate schedules from different regions. The local time zone of my MS Booking account (the recruitment account), is in UTC Singapore Time. We interview 3 regions: APAC, EU, and US.
Apac recruiters will interview Apac Candidates
EU/Apac recruiters will interview EU Candidates
EU recruiters will interview US Candidates (East and West Coast)
But for US timings, this is where I almost throw my laptop away due to frustration hahaha. I need to set-up interview slots for our interviewers from EU and their interviewees would be from the US (east and west coast). Here’s the timing that I want:
4PM to 7PM CEST (this is 10 AM to 1 PM Eastern Day Time, and 7AM to 10 AM Pacific Daylight).
How should I do this? I can’t change the time zone of the recruitment account because we have other services there that needs to be in SG time.
Another dilemma that I have is figuring our the timings for round 2. For context, the interviewer time zone is Sydney time and his interviewees would be from US east and west coast.
The timing that I want is 7AM to 11 AM Sydney time (that’s 5PM to 9PM Eastern Time, and 2PM to 6PM Pacific Daylight)

Lesson Learned #505: Verifying IP Resolution in Azure SQL Database in Private Link
This last week, I worked on two service requests that our customers got the following error message: (Reason: An instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Connection was denied since Deny Public Network Access is set to Yes (https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/azure-sql/database/connectivity-settings#deny-public-network-access). To connect to this server, use the Private Endpoint from inside your virtual network (https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/sql-database/sql-database-private-endpoint-overview#how-to-set-up-private-link-for-azure-sql-database).) using Private link connection.
In both situations, I have found that our customers are using custom DNS configurations. On rare occasions, the resolved IP is the public gateway IP instead of the private IP from the Private Link. While the root cause of this issue needs to be investigated, I would like to share this C# code that checks IP resolution before connecting to Azure SQL Database.
The idea is if the IP resolved is not the private one it tries to request again 5 time with a delay of 250 ms to be sure that the IP will be the expected one. If not, the application might be finished or reported an error. You can adapt this code according to your needs to improve the reliability of your connections.
This approach helps avoid unnecessary errors and ensures a reliable connection to the Azure SQL Database. Here is the C# script that implements this solution:

Flux notifications disappeared and can’t see missed calls logs
Hi , this is my first post here. Thank you so much in advance for reading the following request.
My organization started using Teams as a Phone service a few weeks ago.
Few days ago, we stopped recieving Flux notifications for missed calls (only reactions, messages or calendar organization).
Now, when a new caller times out without an answer, we have no logs of this call via Calls > History and we can’t even see a new red pin to tell us that someone called and missed the call.
Can you please suggest a solution ?

Formula calculation displayed wrongly (IF results)
Dear community,
I have a problem because first time I see something like this.
Formula IF with two logic AND criteria calculates correctly, but result is showing in Cell as 0 (zero).
In both marked Cells are Formulas like below. The calculation is correctly because Formula result show correct values (upper Cell should be =””, lower Cell should be =2), but as you see both are shown as =0.
Cell formating change is not helping to show the correct value.
Previously I had the same formula but second logic criteria was just checking one, direct, upper Cell and everything was showing correctly, but I need only one value in range Q15:Q35, so I had to change it.
Please help me to uderstand or give me some ideas for investigation.

can not remove managed private endpoint
Hi,
I created an Integration Runtime Virtual Network. Then I created a managed private endpoint with a blob storage. I approved the request on the Storage Account, so the connection was setup. Then I removed the endpoint on the Storage Acount side. And now I have a problem…
In my Data Factory the private endpoint was immediately published on creation (I created it in my feature branche). So the Endpoint is still in the Live Data Factory. If I want to create a new endpoint, I can not.
The following message is displayed: “Failed to save <endpoint name>. Error: Invalid resource request. Resource type: ‘ManagedPrivateEndpoint’, Resource name: ‘<endpoint name>’ ‘Error: A managed private endpoint to the data source already exist.’. Please switch to live mode and check whether there is an existing managed private endpoint to the data source.”
The private endpoint is still there, but i can not access it, neither delete it.
Does anyone know how I can delete the endpoint in the publish-branche?? Merging a new change won’t work. The endpoint is still there…

I am noticing a couple of new issues with New Outlook. All the above works with old Outlook.
-Auto Labelling not working(Based on Sensitive info type).
-Label requirement not working (i.e. Users can send without a label, in old OLK/OWA, they get a prompt to label the email)
-Label Inheritance not working (from attachment)
-Smime Signing/Viewing emails.
-If you set a dlp policy with an option to add certain label based on a detected sensitive info type on unlabelled emails, The policy tip is displayed but the label is not added.
All the above works with old Outlook and most work in OWA but all the above does not work in New Outlook. Any workarounds? are those functions not supported yet? Any help will be appreciated.

Windwos Server Default Administrative Shares (C$,D$) 2hr Lost

Handling Process:
1. GPO distributes registry entries for AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks with values set to 0.
2. Default system shares (C$, D$) disappear on all servers (2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and workstations (Win7) under AD (Server 2019).
3. After deleting GPO registry keys, changing AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks values to 1 in the server’s registry via regedit, and restarting the server, the issue persists (C$, D$ still not visible).
4. Deleting AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks registry entries from the server’s registry via regedit and restarting the server do not resolve the issue (C$, D$ still not visible).

Hi, i’m coming here for some help on the server manager. Handling Process:1. GPO distributes registry entries for AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks with values set to 0.2. Default system shares (C$, D$) disappear on all servers (2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and workstations (Win7) under AD (Server 2019).3. After deleting GPO registry keys, changing AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks values to 1 in the server’s registry via regedit, and restarting the server, the issue persists (C$, D$ still not visible).4. Deleting AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks registry entries from the server’s registry via regedit and restarting the server do not resolve the issue (C$, D$ still not visible).5.
