Reset guest redemption status not possible after creating Multitenant Organization (MTO)
Hi all, we’re on the path to creating a Multitenant Organization (MTO) for our global organization.
We already have a relationship with one partner tenant which has B2B Collaboration and B2B Direct Connect set-up and is working well.
We took the step of creating a Multitenant Organization in our 365 admin center and started testing with a sandbox tenant, which has since been removed.
The issue we are having now, is that guest users which are not part of B2B Collaboration or an MTO cannot have their redemption status reset.
I first found this wasn’t possible from the error in a Power Automate workflow using Microsoft Graph, then confirmed I got the same error in Entra ID.
The documentation for MTO was updated a few days ago and includes this, saying that as part of a multitenant organization, reset redemption for an already redeemed B2B user is currently disabled.
But should this be the case for guest users not part of B2B Collaboration or Multitenant? Is this an error or expected behaviour, I wonder?
Thanks!

Updating multiple Bookings Apps at the same time
We are exploring the possibility of using Microsoft Bookings to manage some appointments and one particular scenario we may end up with is where we need multiple (30+) identical bookings forms, with different users associated with each.
If we go down this route, which isn’t definite yet, is there a way to update all of the forms at the same time? From what I can see each “instance” of Bookings is separate, but I was wondering if there was some way, possibly using PowerShell, of updating the details/settings of multiple forms together, instead of updating multiple forms independently?
An example of this might be if we had a standard appointment for 30 minutes, and we want to extend this to 45 minutes. Instead of updating each page individually, is it possible to run a command to update all at the same time?

Outlook – Unable to forward emails
Hi
Over the last few days I have been advised by friends/colleagues that emails that I have received and then forwarded to them have not arrived. I have not changed any settings, I can see them in my sent box but they’re not being forwarded on. Tried many test emails, it does work if I use my BT account on my phone so thinking it must be an issue with Outlook (365).
Anyone else experienced this issue?

Moving files from SharePoint online to a mapped network drive
So I have been asked to move over 1,000 files from SPO to a mapped Network Drive hosted in Azure. I was looking to try and configure this using PowerShell if it’s possible. I have a csv that holds the server relative URL to each file, a destination (m:folderfolder) format, what’s the best way to achieve this, PNP, Graph SDK?
If anyone has done this or has a **bleep** good idea, please let me know as banging my head so far trying to get this moving.

SharePoint Roadmap Pitstop: May 2024
Built & Build, May 2024.
May 2024 brought some great new offerings and insights on future ones: OneDrive file cards for Viva Connections dashboard, Updated file viewer for non-office file, Link files from SharePoint in Teams mobile, SharePoint: Advanced tenant rename, SharePoint + Stream: Video page templates, Teams + Loop workspaces in meetings, improved version history controls for SharePoint document libraries, Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint pages (GA), and more. Plus, we highlight some of the SharePoint and Teams news from Microsoft Build 2024.
Details and screenshots below, including our audible companion: The Intrazone Roadmap Pitstop: May 2024 podcast episode – all to help answer, “What’s rolling out now for SharePoint and related technologies into Microsoft 365?”
All features listed below began rolling out to Targeted Release customers in Microsoft 365 as of May 2024 (possibly early June 2024).
Inform and engage with dynamic employee experiences
Build your intelligent intranet on SharePoint in Microsoft 365 and get the benefits of investing in business outcomes – reducing IT and development costs, increasing business speed and agility, and up-leveling the dynamic, personalized, and welcoming nature of your intranet.
Microsoft Viva: OneDrive File Cards on Viva Connections dashboard
This helps organizations add a view of Microsoft OneDrive files that were recently accessed, shared, or marked favorite by a person. It’s an easy window into OneDrive – giving a personalized view into a file of importance, with the ability to click “View more files” like you’re clicking on “see more like this” – in the flow of the Viva Connections Dashboard – where you can program a great experience for your employees – and it adheres to making it personalized and dynamic.
You can now add the OneDrive Files Card to your Viva Connections dashboard if you have the dashboard feature on. It will appear out-of-box (OOB) on the dashboard if no configuration is specified, of which you can remove it to customize your dashboard to your own preference.

Updates to the file viewer when opening non-Office files in OneDrive and SharePoint
The enhanced file viewer for Microsoft 365 now offers a quick and easy way to view your files in OneDrive for the web and SharePoint in Microsoft 365. It’s now more useful and intuitive – with a new toolbar, new panes, and collaboration features. And we support more than 300 file types.
After the rollout: The new file viewer has a dark mode background, an updated command bar, and file navigation arrows positioned in the middle of the page.

Link to files from OneDrive and SharePoint sites from within the Teams mobile app (iOS and Android)
Linking to a file when on the go must be one of my favorite time savers – to not having to crack open the full desktop to simply add a link to a file in a chat or channel. Now, In Teams for iOS and Android, you can browse, multiselect and link files from SharePoint sites within a chat or channel conversation.
You simply tap on the ‘+’ icon to open the compose tray and then tap on the paperclip ‘Attach’ icon to link to files. Boom, what do you link about that final files-related item.
I link it’s great. And it will save you time, in Teams.

SharePoint: Advanced tenant rename
For organizations that need to change their Microsoft SharePoint domain name due to rebranding, mergers, acquisitions, or consolidations, Advanced Tenant Rename is now available with SharePoint Advanced Management. With Advanced Tenant Rename, organizations with up to 100,000 total sites can change their domain name. This also offers greater control with the ability to prioritize up to 4,000 sites for early execution within the rename.
If you choose to use Advanced Tenant Rename, this will result in all SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business URLs showing the new domain name. Some workloads may need additional actions after a rename. For those not intending to perform a rename, there will be no change.

Teamwork updates across SharePoint team sites, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams
Microsoft 365 is designed to be a universal toolkit for teamwork – to give you the right tools for the right task, along with common services to help you seamlessly work across applications. SharePoint is the intelligent content service that powers teamwork – to better collaborate on proposals, projects, and campaigns throughout your organization – with integration across Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Yammer, Stream, Planner and much more.
SharePoint + Stream: New video page templates
Get ready to create video pages and news posts directly from the Stream web app. For the first time ever, you can create a page outside of SharePoint for videos stored on a SharePoint site.
How, you ask? In the Stream web app, if you have editing access, you select the new ‘Create video news post’ button under the video’s Share dropdown menu. Then, review the new templates and select the page template you prefer. Eh voila, you’re on your way – creating a new SharePoint page or news post, with desired video(s), and the ability to add further context to include related documents and design the page to your liking before publishing it.
It’s a unique way to create a page, and a natural amplification method when looking at it from amplifying the impact of a video – boosting its visibility and refining its context.

Microsoft Teams: Auto-create Microsoft Loop workspaces to share meeting content
Microsoft Teams meeting organizers of recurring meetings will be prompted in the chat to create a Microsoft Loop workspace after their meetings end – which leverages your instance of SharePoint Embedded to store the new Loop workspace.
The Loop workspace helps gather shared meeting content into a central, durable Loop workspace to enable ongoing collaboration over time. As a recurring meeting series continues, additional content shared in the meeting chat will be added automatically to the initial Loop workspace. Over time, the content in the chat accrues with meeting recordings, Microsoft 365 content (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Whiteboards), Loop meeting notes, Loop pages, and other shared content. And Microsoft will support additional content types over time.
NOTE: For this initial rollout, this feature will be enabled for meeting series with 3-50 invitees. Later, we will release support for greater than 50 invitees and for Modern Groups.

SharePoint document libraries: Improved Version history controls (Preview)
Version history is a critical part of SharePoint’s built-in data protection, providing visibility on how a file has evolved over time. Users can easily revert to an older version if business needs change or if files are damaged by user error or malware.
Version storage controls allow you as admins to set an appropriate level of recoverability and auditability for your organization. And, based on strong customer feedback, we will release enhanced version storage controls so you can meet your needs efficiently and at scale. We are introducing new version controls that help admins and content owners reduce storage footprint driven by low value file versions. Previously, document library owners could set count-based version limits at the library level.
New Version history limit options to meet your organization’s recovery objectives and version storage targets. Set version limits to:
Automatically optimize version recovery and storage without estimating limits or Manually limit versions by count or version age.
Set default organization Version history limits on new document libraries and Microsoft OneDrive accounts for consistent version storage setting on all new libraries and OneDrive accounts created through the organization.
Set Site or Library level Version history limits to meet specific content needs by breaking inheritance from organization defaults.
Report on version storage use of a site or library by generating a CSV report to analyze current usage trends or impact analysis.
Delete versions from a site or library to reduce existing version storage footprint or align with new limits.

Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint pages is now generally available (GA)
We are pleased to announce the GA of the Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint pages, in all cloud instances—a significant milestone in our commitment to providing useful and flexible tools for SharePoint developers.
The new API allows developers to programmatically interact with SharePoint Pages and News posts, offering capabilities such as listing, getting, creating, editing, publishing, and deleting pages. With the v1.0 release, we are introducing a targeted scope of features based on comprehensive research, use case analysis, and product scoping. Which also means there is more to come beyond v1.

Outlook and Teams: Respond to meetings with Follow
We are introducing a new meeting response option called Follow that allows people invited to a meeting to let the organizer know they can’t attend but would like to stay informed. Follow goes beyond the traditional Accept, Tentative, and Decline responses. Follow is for busy individuals with high meeting loads and conflicting meetings. Follow is the ideal meeting response option when you can’t attend a meeting but still want to stay engaged and have access to post-meeting information in Teams.
Follow responses will:
Inform organizers: letting the meeting organizer know you can’t attend but want to stay engaged and have access to post-meeting information.
Free up time: marking the meeting on your calendar as free so you can better prioritize your time. You will still retain access to the meeting and chat.
Stay informed: Reminding meeting organizers to record and take collaborative notes during the meeting. You will receive a notification that the recap is available after the meeting.
After rollout, invitation response options will be Yes, No, and Follow. The Maybe reply will be accessible through the three-dot menu. I know a lot of you have been follow’ing this one on the roadmap, and now it’s time to follow it to fruition – aka, now. Follow a meeting in Outlook or Teams – you’ll be glad you did.

Organizational messages (Preview) in the Microsoft 365 admin center
Effective communication plays a crucial role in empowering every person in your organization to achieve more. We’re excited to announce the public preview of organizational messages in the Microsoft 365 admin center – so you can reach others in your organization through native, branded, and customized experiences right within the Microsoft products they use every day; for example, to send messages to the Windows Spotlight location. It’s a great way to inform others and reach them where it’s most visible.

There were a lot of advancements across Hardware, Developer Tools and Apps, and Mental Health — all powered by AI. There’s a nice summary blog from our Chief Accessibility Officer, Jenny Lay-Flurrie. It includes a fascinating video about how AI-powered tools are creating new possibilities for people with disabilities. Event Grid Trigger: Validation handshake Failed on Event subscription deployment
Symptom:
In logic app standard, you might face the issue of being unable to create the event grid subscription with endpoint type=webhook where the URL refers to logic app workflow that has event grid trigger When a resource event occurs, below error on saving event subscription will appear:
Deployment has failed with the following error: {“code”:”Url validation”,”message”:”Webhook validation handshake failed Http POST request retuned 2XX response with response body . When a validation request is accepted without validation code in the response body, Http GET is expected on the validation url included in the validation event(within 10 minutes). For troubleshooting, visit
Cause:
If you work from outside logic app designer on creating event grid subscription or editing it such as adding a filter or advanced filter to the event subscription, a validation request is sent to the configured event subscription web hook URL but logic app standard workflow with event grid trigger fails to respond back by invoking validation URL, and the event subscription will fail to be deployed.
However, if you try the same through logic app designer, logic app workflow with this event grid trigger is able to create the event subscription and complete the validation on saving the workflow with this trigger and using the values inside the trigger parameters for event subscription name and basic subject filters
Resolution:
Adding below condition in the workflow to check if the received event is subscription validation by checking the existence of validation URL in the incoming event body and invoking this validation URL
code:
{
“type”: “If”,
“expression”: {
“and”: [

Note:
Another recommended option is to user When http request is received trigger to set the event grid subscription web hook URL to the trigger URL. When http request is received trigger is in-app trigger, so its run cost is included by the app service plan fees while when a resource event grid trigger is shared trigger whose usage fees depends on the number of its calls. please refer to the link below for more information of how to use When http request is received trigger with event grid subscription:

Microsoft Teams for SMBs at M365 Community Conference
It was wonderful to be a part of the M365 Community Conference that took place in Orlando, FL from Apr 30 to May 02, 2024. The event was a great success with over 3000 attendees. However, the highlight for the Teams SMB product team was the engaging discussions we got to have with small and medium businesses (SMBs) and partners who support SMBs.
Hearing directly from SMBs was incredibly valuable, as was receiving validation on how effective Teams already is for several of them. We also recognized the need to raise awareness of scenarios that are already supported, such as the ability to connect with customers and partners in different ways. We will take the insights from these discussions to guide our product roadmap.
We held several Teams SMB-focused sessions at the conference, including a breakout session (PDF available here) on how Microsoft Teams can be an ally for small businesses, aiding in business growth and operational efficiency. Here are some of the topics we discussed during this breakout session:
Meetings: Enhancements to the meeting experience for external participants and the several meeting options available, including Microsoft Bookings and Virtual Appointments.
Chats: The ability for an SMB to chat with customers and partners, and how attendees in an external meeting can continue the conversation via chat even after the meeting.
Shared channels: The ability to create shared workspaces with partners and customers for structured, long-term project collaboration.
Multiple accounts: The new Teams feature that allows staying signed into various organizations and accounts for seamless collaboration with several customers and partners.
Teams Phone: Various telephony capabilities allowing SMB users to communicate from anywhere with a myriad of smart features.
Teams-certified devices: The option to easily acquire Teams-certified devices directly from the Store within the Teams app.
Google Workspace integration: How Teams can be used by Google Workspace users without the need to migrate their e-mail and calendar from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.
Setup simplification: Admin app in Teams that makes setup even more straightforward for very small businesses.
M365 Copilot in Teams: How Copilot in Teams can supercharge productivity and save time. Copilot was covered in a lot more detail in the conference keynote – The Age of Copilots.
A video recording of the session will be shared within the coming month. Meanwhile, the keynotes and general sessions from the conference are already accessible on YouTube.
We are committed to supporting the growth of small and medium businesses, and eager to continue these dialogues. So, if you’re interested in a deeper connection with the Teams SMB product team, please refer to this post for more information.
Thanks

Can you specify a save location for the Stream Recorder? e.g. as a a parameter?
I’d like to integrate the SharePoint Stream recorder with our own bug reporting system, so users can easily add a video to an issue.
Currently, the recorded video shows up in the user’s OneDrive folder which then has to be moved to a non personal SharePoint area or downloaded and re-uploaded. This is a pain.
It would greatly help the adoption of the stream recorder if we could specify the location of where the video is to be stored in the form of a SharePoint site/folder.
Thank you.

Needing help with the TEXT function
Objective: create a date counter to add 1 day to previous cell and return day of month (number 1 to 31). I also need to be able to reference every cells’ date (where the day’s number is listed) for other formulas, so it must contain the correct date.
I have tried a few things but come up with issues:
formatting cells does not have a “D” option
a regular number counter will not know when to start at “1” for a new month
the DATE() and EOMONTH() functions are not really suitable, etc.
The one I have most success with is the TEXT() function, but notice that it does not recognize or change the month if only day is returned (it automatically thinks Jan as the month).
e.g. :
C4 = June 26th, 2024
=TEXT(C4, “mmmm d”) output: June 26 date noted: June 26
=TEXT(C4,”d”) output: 26 date noted: January 26 <— this is the issue
Any help??

Unable to move Hero Tiles
Update a 5-tile Hero with new images and links and recently have been unable to move tiles around to re-order them. Today was able to edit like normal, but when the page was published it reverted back. Only way to get the order you want is to start over. The purpose of being able to move the tiles is to determine which order works best. It’s a pain to have to start over when it won’t stick or won’t even move … hoping a temporary glitch, but we’re going on week 2 now …

I have tried many different ways but can not figure out how to change the following formula to work with a filter. I want to count cells in row DM if the name in column A matches “sample1″ and the cell is >0, but I need to only count visible cells when using filters on other columns. How do I add the filter criteria? =COUNTIFS($A$12:$A$400,”sample1″,DM$12:DM$400,”>0″)
