DSO count back method
Hi all,
I’m in need of a formula for calculating the DSO (daily sales outstanding) with the use of the count back method.
Calculation:
Substract periodic sales (p5->P4 etc.) from outstanding money -> for every substraction count 28 days (1 period)
Do this until it cant be substracted without going negative
Divide remaining Outstanding by Periodic sales
P5 Outstanding : 12 000 000
P5 Sales : 5 000 000
= 12 000 000 – 5 000 000 = 7 000 000 (28 days)
P4 sales : 6 000 000
= 7 000 000 – 6 000 000 = 1 000 000 (28 days)
P3 Sales = 6 000 000
= 1 000 000 / 6 000 000 * 28 = 4,66… days = 5 days
28 + 28 + 5 = 61 days
Is it possible to fit this in one formula

FAQ: Making private plans available to tenants + sub-tenants
Q: I have some questions about private plans. A customer has a main tenant and a number of sub-tenants that tree from the main, and wants to make the private plan available to tenant + sub-tenants.
1) When configuring a private plan using tenant ID (for SaaS or VM) all customers in that tenant will be eligible to purchase it. Will customers in sub-tenants that branch from the main tenant also be eligible to purchase?
2) For Azure Apps which require using subscription ID, is there a way to make these available to an entire tenant + sub-tenants without adding however many subscription IDs from each tenant?
A few additional thoughts on this –
a) private offers have end dates and we would like “permanent” availability of the offer with bespoke prices. We know that private offer end dates can be extended far out into the future but we cannot change these to end early like we can with a private plan.
b) We do not want to create a public plan since the price structure is completely different than all their other public plans and do not want to signal that alternative prices are available.
A:
1) There is not a sub-tenant concept in Azure. Tenant is a security boundary, and there is no implicit trust between tenants. You can have cross-tenant access, but from private plans perspective you need to add every tenant you want to provide their subscription with access to the private plan.
2) No – right now, this is not available.
(a) – partners can always request cancelation of private offers if these are no longer eligible. This is a support-led flow right now.
(b) – partners can always create new plans within a private offer (using the non-pricing attribute flow).
Also please note that if a partner is not tied to Private Plans – when using Private Offers instead, you can specify the customer’s billing ID which could include all tenants / subscriptions under that specific Billing ID

Disable email notifications for a document in Sharepoint
Is there a way to turn off email notifications for a specific document or documents in a library? I have documents that I created but I am no longer a part of and I continue to receive email alerts anytime the document changes by someone else. I do not have “alert me” set up in the document library or on the document(s) themselves. It seems to be a default thing that I would like to be able to remove.

Tips/resources on managing Shared Mailboxes in New Outlook?
Hello
In the New Outlook Shared categories are no longer available on a Shared mailbox. At each and every client I have they rely quite heavily on shared mailboxes for client interactions.
Shared categories are used to distribute work in the team and reach consensus on who follows up. This is no longer working in the New Outlook. This makes centralized external communications via Outlook impossible. For small organisations, other software used by corporates is often seen as overkill. Teams is not an option given the fact that there are known external users and unkown users that you want to enable to reach the organisation in a simple and friendly way (Forms are not seen as customer friendly, nor Chatbots)
What solutions would you suggest?

How can I make windows 11 as private as possible?
I’m trying to make my Windows 11 setup as private as possible. I’m concerned about online security and don’t want my personal data to be compromised. I’ve heard that Windows 11 has some built-in features that can help protect my privacy, but I’m not sure where to start or how to configure them effectively.
I’d like to know how to set up my Windows 11 installation to minimize the amount of data that’s being shared with third-party services, and how to prevent unauthorized access to my device and personal information.

Teams: adding users through teams or groups
Hi there,
I’m in the progress of making a coupling between our SIS (school information system) and Teams us MS Graph. In the past we used SDS for that, but that is going into a direction we don’t like. Not the discussion for now. This is:
Currently at the point where I have to make a decision on how to add owners/members to the teams I create. Teams being specialized groups I seem to have 2 options:
– with the groups add member/owner option (Add members – Microsoft Graph v1.0 | Microsoft Learn)
– with the teams add member/owner option (Add member to team – Microsoft Graph v1.0 | Microsoft Learn)
It seems that by adding them through the groups option there can be a 24 hour delay before the user is actually added to the team, and one of the team users will have to have been online in the Teams desktop app. A bit of a hazzle it seems.
Reading that I’m inclined to add them using the teams method.
But are there other consideration that I’m missing?
Peter

Is pirating windows 11 worth it? Which version is the least BS loaded?
I’m considering purchasing a Windows 11 license, but I’ve been tempted to pirate the operating system instead. I’ve heard that some versions of Windows 11 are more prone to being loaded with bloatware, and I’m not sure which one to get. I’ve also heard that pirating Windows 11 can be risky, as it may not receive updates or security patches. I want to know if pirating Windows 11 is worth it, and if so, which version is the least bloated.
Are there any specific versions of Windows 11 that are more likely to be free from unwanted software and add-ons?

MpCmdRun.exe Cannot Display Chinese
Hi,all.
I use command-line tools to perform virus scanning, and my scanning command is “MpCmdRunexe – scan – scan type 3- file {path} – disableremediation “.
But I found that if my virus file name contains Chinese, the console output result cannot be displayed (not garbled). How should I solve this problem? And why does this phenomenon occur?
The picture is an example. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could reply to my question.

Better Copilot Audit Records and Copilot Chat Appears in Classic Outlook
Copilot audit records generated for the Microsoft 365 audit log capture details of the resources (files, emails, and documents) used by Copilot in its answers. This doesn’t sound very exciting, but it is important for forensic investigators who need to understand what information is consumed to generate AI answers. In another development, the Copilot for Microsoft 365 chat app is now available in Outlook classic.

Help with format formula
Hi.
I hope there is a simple solution to my use case. I have an excel sheet where column G, H, J contains numbers, and row 2 cell J2:AB2 contains “priority” e.g 1,2,3,4,5 etc.
If G2 is >0 i need a fomula that sets either “some text” or a color on the cell and the subseqvent cells that corrosponds to the number in cell G7,H7,J7.
Example: G7=3 i need cells J7,J8,J9 to format either “text” or color and the rest of the cells nothing in the order from left to right/from lowest priority # to higher.
Thanks
Leif
Does this make sense?

Migration of file Server data on Share Point online.
Hi Guys,
We are planning to move our file server data to SharePoint Online. Since I am new to SharePoint, I need your assistance in transferring the file server data to SharePoint. Currently, the file server VM is hosted on Azure, and data is stored in department folders such as Sales, HR & Admin, Account, Finance, Operations, Audit, and others folders.
The IT manager has assigned us the task of moving the file server data to a newly created SharePoint site with appropriate permissions.
If anyone has a step-by-step procedure, please share it with me.

Lesson Learned #498:Understanding the Role of STATMAN in SQL Server and Its Resource Consumption
Today, I worked on a service request that our customer reported a performance issue and they reported that this query: SELECT StatMan([SC0], [LC0], [SB0000]) FROM (SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT [SC0], [LC0], step_direction([SC0]) over (order by NULL) AS [SB0000] FROM .. TABLESAMPLE SYSTEM (@samplePercent PERCENT) WITH (READUNCOMMITTED) ) AS _MS_UPDSTATS_TBL_HELPER ORDER BY [SC0], [SB0000] ) AS _MS_UPDSTATS_TBL OPTION (MAXDOP 16, RECOMPILE). I would like to share my lessons learned here.
It is important to mention that STATMAN is not a function that you can directly call in our queries. Instead, it refers to an internal process within SQL Server that is responsible for updating statistics on data distribution.
When we execute UPDATE STATISTICS TableExample WITH FULLSCAN or the statistics are automatically updated by SQL Server engine we could see this type of query:
DECLARE @samplePercent FLOAT;
SELECT StatMan([SC0], [LC0], [SB0000])
FROM (
SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT [SC0], [LC0], step_direction([SC0]) OVER (ORDER BY NULL) AS [SB0000]
FROM [YourTable]
TABLESAMPLE SYSTEM (@samplePercent PERCENT)
WITH (READUNCOMMITTED)
) AS _MS_UPDSTATS_TBL_HELPER
ORDER BY [SC0], [SB0000]
) AS _MS_UPDSTATS_TBL
OPTION (MAXDOP 16, RECOMPILE);
Data Scanning: The TABLESAMPLE SYSTEM (@samplePercent PERCENT) clause indicates that a sample of the data is being scanned. Depending on the value of @samplePercent, this could involve a significant portion of the table’s data.
Sorting and Window Functions: The use of step_direction and the ORDER BY clause introduces sorting and window functions that can be resource-intensive, especially on large datasets.
Parallel Execution: The OPTION (MAXDOP 16) part of the query allows the operation to use up to 16 processors in parallel. While parallelism can speed up the operation, it also increases CPU usage and can lead to contention for resources.
Recompilation: The RECOMPILE option forces the query to be recompiled each time.

Surface Hub 2S setup with Microsoft Azure Active Directory has no admin permissions
We setup a new Surface Hub 2S with a Microsoft Entra ID admin:
We have the following settings in place in Entra > All Devices > Device Settings (which prevents Global Admins from being admin on devices):
Does that interfere with having admin rights on the surface hub? When I assign the Global Admin role to a user this user cannot access the Settings app as an admin on the Surface Hub.

Any truly free screen recorder for Windows 10? Online choices are preferred!
Hi everyone, can you help me? I’ve found myself in a bit of a pickle recently—I’m on the hunt for a truly free screen recorder that’s compatible with Windows 10 and ideally works online, without the need for a heavy software installation. I have an old PC and want to record screen sometimes. You know, something that won’t cost me a dime and won’t bog down my system with unnecessary downloads or subscriptions.
With so many options out there claiming to be “free” but then sneaking in watermarks, time limits, or constant upgrade prompts, it’s like navigating through a minefield! I’m sure many of you can relate to the frustration when you just want to quickly record a tutorial, a gaming session, or a webinar without any strings attached.
Here’s what I’m envisioning: A user-friendly, web-based tool that allows me to capture my screen activities with decent video and audio quality. It would be fantastic if it offers basic editing features like trimming the recording right after capturing it, and of course, the ability to save or share the recording directly from the browser. Bonus points if it doesn’t impose any pesky watermark or length restrictions.

Server 2025 – GPUpdate triggers immediate LAPS reset
So we’re currently testing out the Public preview of Windows 2025 and have noticed some new behaviour when testing out joining the OS to our domain. Initially all works well, the system joins the domain and our LAPS GPOs take over managing the local administrator password, allowing some of our automation to retrieve the password and start running tasks against the system.
However one thing we’ve noticed is that as soon as a gpupdate is triggered on Server 2025 it causes LAPS to immediately reset the password again, something that doesn’t occur on Server 2019 or 2022. This in turn causes our ansible automation to immediately begin failing because the credentials are now incorrect.
Does anyone know if this is intended behaviour? Or just a quirk of the Preview version? If it is intended behaviour is this something we can change? Given that it only seems to be happening for Server 2025 I’m hoping there might be some OS config we can change to stop it happening, but I’m not sure if we might need to make changes to our GPO instead.
