Microsoft Graph API returns no data or unexpected errors for Viva Learning
Hello,
I’m exploring options to create a custom learning management system for my company. The first thing I would like to do is to pull data from Microsoft Viva Learning via the Microsoft Graph API, for example to see which courses the employees have completed. The next step will be to write that data on a SharePoint site.
I’m using the C# Microsoft Graph quick start example as a base, so I can make use of the Microsoft Graph SDK for C#. This is a .NET 7 project, so I upgraded it to a .NET 8 project with the latest versions of the packages:
Azure.Identity version 1.11.2Microsoft.Graph version 5.49.0
For authentication, I have 2 different clients in my code:
ApplicationGraphClient which is using a ClientSecretCredential with a client secret provided by my administratorUserGraphClient which is using an InteractiveBrowserCredential, so that I can log in with my own account
The following permissions have been given to the app by the administrator:
application permissionsUser.Read.AllLearningAssignedCourse.Read.AllLearningContent.ReadWrite.AllLearningSelfInitiatedCourse.Read.AllSites.ReadWrite.Alldelegated user permissionsUser.Readoffline_accessLearningAssignedCourse.ReadLearningContent.ReadWrite.AllLearningSelfInitiatedCourse.ReadLearningProvider.ReadWriteSites.ReadWrite.All
According to the docs, it’s possible to list the learning course activities both for the signed-in user, but also for any user by ID. However, in both cases, I’m getting an empty collection as a result, despite the facts that I’ve completed several courses in Viva Learning. There is no error or exception.
in UserGraphClient:await graphClient.Me.EmployeeExperience.LearningCourseActivities.GetAsync(); // returns an empty collectionin `ApplicationGraphClient:await graphClient.Users[myUser.Id].EmployeeExperience.LearningCourseActivities.GetAsync(); // returns an empty collection
My administrator also made me a knowledge admin, so I have access to the admin tab of Viva Learning in Teams, and I’m able to export the course activity data for my user. The exported Excel file does contain the expected completed courses.
I’ve also tried to get all the learning activities for all the employees, with a top 10 limit, but this fail with an unknown error and code 404, so I suppose it’s implemented in the SDK but not supported by the API.
In ApplicationGraphClient:
await graphClient.EmployeeExperience.LearningCourseActivities.GetAsync(config =>
{
config.QueryParameters.Top = 10;
});
Lastly, I’ve tried to list the learning providers using both the UserGraphClient and ApplicationGraphClient, and in both cases I get the error message “Insufficient privileges to complete the operation.“. As you could see above, I do have the delegated LearningProvider.ReadWrite permission, so it should at least work for my signed-in user.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Electronic Signatures in Excel
Hi, Having difficulties — and looking for a proper fix please.
I have an Excel workbook saves as a template. It uses multiple calculations and conditional formatting to ensure that the spreadsheet is completed properly. Within this, on one sheet, is a ‘Signature Line’, which will (or should) indicate that the final saved document has been completed and “signed off”.
In practice, this is not working for the end-user. We have the following issues:
The Electronic Signature is calculated for the whole workbook, rather than the individual sheet. Whilst this is really annoying, I can ‘fudge’ a workaround for this (although it is a really ugly ‘kludge’).The standard, default, method of opening a spreadsheet involves the automatic recalculation of all formulas (and thus destroying integrity), irrespective of whether the cell contents have changed. This has the effect of invalidating any previously applied signature. To counter the problems in (2), I have tried changing the template Calculation Options to ‘Manual’, and re-saving the template. Re-opening either the template or a .xlsx workbook saved from the template appears to remember the ‘Manual Calculation’ setting — however, this (currently) does not fix the problem, and I still am getting an ‘Invalid signature’ message — despite being mentioned as a fix in multiple online support pages.I don’t know why, but occasionally this setting to ‘Manual’ appears to revert to ‘Automatic’ on occasions. I have not discovered what causes this.I cannot use any VBA code to ‘fix’ this problem, because VBA is declared by my organisation to be a security issue, and is globally disabled.Likewise, I cannot disable the full internal recalculation behaviour with a registry key change (eg: FullCalcOnLoadOldFile = 0)As a side issue (but currently unable to test), I also need a solution to the problem described here: Excel digital signatures – Microsoft Community Whilst a certificate may expire, and not be valid for signing new documents, it should still verify that a signature on an historical document has a valid signature based upon the date it was originally signed (and not today’s date).
Some of the community posts documenting this problem are many years old — and none appear to have been properly and comprehensively answered anywhere.
Is there a “fix” that I can apply that will actually work (for users other than me)?Are there plans to properly patch Excel so that Electronic Signatures will work and validate as expected in future?
Many thanks.

How capable is CoPilot really
I am 1 week into using Copilot.
I got ambitious and asked it to do the following.
After defining 5 projects in detail including Name, Due Dates, Effort; I asked copilot to find all the relevant information on these projects which were all very recent and then perform the following tasks.
1. Create OneNote pages for each project with detailed notes, links, images and ideas for each project.
2. Block out my calendar in 2 hour blocks with some other restraints to complete the projects on time.
CoPilot managed to impressively fail in all of this.
All I got was a reworded, rehash of what I had already told it basically so I can go and do the work myself.
I then thought it was the way I had written the prompt and trying both CoPilot and then ChatGPT 4 to write me a suitable prompt, I generally got even worse results.
I then simply tried to get a summary of information on one of my projects written into a OneNote page, I did this through Copilot in OneNote and I got the following response…
“I’m sorry, but I am not able to access your emails or SharePoint. I am a chat-based AI Assistant and my capabilities are limited to the chat box. Is there something specific you are looking for that I can help you with.”
Right now, CoPilot seems about as useful as Siri!! Apart from word salad it cannot seem to produce anything of use?
I really hope it is just me, as I really want to get the most out of it, but already feeling like I spent $500+ on 12 months of frustration.

How fix QuickBooks 2024 keeps crashing after update windows 11/10?
Troubleshooting Solutions: QuickBooks 2024 keeps crashing
Experiencing frequent crashes in QuickBooks 2024 can be frustrating. Here are some troubleshooting steps to address this issue:
Update QuickBooks: Ensure that your QuickBooks software is updated to the latest version. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements that can resolve crashing issues.
Check System Requirements: Verify that your computer meets the system requirements for running QuickBooks 2024. Inadequate hardware or outdated drivers may lead to instability and crashes.
Run QuickBooks in Compatibility Mode: Try running QuickBooks in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows. Right-click the QuickBooks shortcut, go to Properties > Compatibility, and select a compatible operating system.
Check for Software Conflicts: Identify any conflicting software that may be causing QuickBooks to crash. Temporarily disable antivirus, firewall, or other security software, as well as any third-party applications running in the background.
Review Event Viewer Logs: Check the Windows Event Viewer for error messages related to QuickBooks crashes. This can provide insights into the underlying cause of the issue, such as faulty modules or system errors.
Repair QuickBooks Installation: If QuickBooks continues to crash, repair the installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select QuickBooks, and choose Repair. This can fix any corrupted files or settings that may be causing the crashes.
Disable Hardware Acceleration: Disable hardware acceleration within QuickBooks settings. Go to Edit > Preferences > Desktop View and uncheck the option for “Enable hardware acceleration.”
Test in Safe Mode: Boot your computer into Safe Mode and see if QuickBooks still crashes. If it doesn’t, the issue may be caused by a third-party application or driver. Restart your computer normally after testing.
Check for Data Corruption: Verify the integrity of your company file using the built-in Verify Data utility in QuickBooks. If errors are detected, use the Rebuild Data tool to repair them.
Contact QuickBooks Support: If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, contact QuickBooks customer support for further assistance. They can provide advanced troubleshooting steps or escalate the issue to their technical team for investigation.
By following these troubleshooting solutions, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the QuickBooks 2024 keeps crashing issue. Remember to regularly backup your company file to prevent data loss in case of unexpected crashes.

Since few days I am observing an issue when I am accessing a Sharepoint list (in this case UserManagement). Like when I navigate to that specific Sharepoint site I get the following issue:
Some of my colleagues are also facing the same issue while accessing the sharepoint list:
So what might be the problem and the cause for this issue.
In some cases after refreshing the page I was able to see the records again, but sometimes it tends to fail as well.

SUM Employees using condition formula
HI
I have an issue with one formula. I created a formula to know the number of projects i have within a FY
Definition of project:
IF SAME CUSTOMER, IF SAME COUNTRY and Same GO Live Date = 1, otherwise 0
I custom sorted my file with Customer, Country and Go lIve Date and used the formula below comparing previous row.
=IF(B2<>B3,1,IF(AND(B2=B3,BE2<>BE3),1,IF(AND(B2=B3,D2=D3,BE2=BE3),0,1)))
I have a column called Contract EE (Employees) and I have been asked to filter projects with max 50employees, 100 employees and + 100 employees but I am struggling to add this SUM in my formula. Any help? What I need is the image below showing number of employees for every count of “1” using the formula with the 3 conditions.

Microsoft Cloud Exceeds 50% of Microsoft Total Revenues
The Microsoft FY24 Q3 results didn’t contain any new user numbers for Office 365 or Teams. However, we did learn that Copilot and Azure are popular words in the Microsoft lexicon. As usual, statistics were introduced without context, but investors won’t really care too much as Microsoft continues to generate tons of revenue at a healthy margin, especially from its cloud business.

Viva Learning as an activity source
Hello,I’m exploring options to create a custom learning management system for my company. The first thing I would like to do is to pull data from Microsoft Viva Learning via the Microsoft Graph API, for example to see which courses the employees have completed. The next step will be to write that data on a SharePoint site. However, the use cases described in the docs seem to implicate that the data should only flow from the LMS to Viva, and not in the opposite direction. Since Viva Learning has a UI for searching for and completing courses, I would like to use that activity data into my custom LMS. Is this use case possible and does it make sense?Thank you in advance Read More

Dynamic Approval Workflow based on Serial Number
Generated a form for disposing of scrap in Power Apps, indicating that I wish to develop a dynamic approval flow in power automate.
Integrated with SharePoint .
Approval Levels are dependent on departments; for example, RS D4 two level set, for RS D1 one level permission set, and similarly levels are set to departments in department table.
In that form, the serial number is generated by Power Apps . For a single serial number, multiple items can be added, and the department should remain constant since only one department can be selected.
for example if i made entry generated serial number is 1 then for 1 multiple items can added like for 1 we cab add 4 items for RS D1 department .
Department should not fluctuate after a department is chosen; we cant add multiple department for a single serial number . new department entry should be created with new serial number .
Based on each serial number, the approval request should be sent to the appropriate approver. Instead of triggering for every item or record, the approval request should only be sent to the approver once for each item created for that serial number.
Thus, what can we do in this scenario and what kind of condition and action can we apply?
