How to track my screen time on Windows 11?
I’m trying to find a way to track and monitor my screen time on my Windows 11 desktop. I want to know how much time I’ve spent using my computer, which apps and websites I’ve been using, and maybe even set some limits or goals for myself. The thing is, I’m not sure where to find this information or how to set it up. I’ve tried searching online and looking through my settings, but I can’t seem to find anything that does what I’m looking for. Can someone help me figure out how to track my screen time on Windows 11?

Pivot table filters not offering text format options like Begins with
I have 3 columns of data, as set of system names, the versions they are at and who’s responsible for them. I create a pivot table counting the number of systems at each version.
I then want to filter to only see the the systems that begin with “PRD”. I select the filter next to the Systems column, Select field=Machine and Filter > By Label, but rather than the text options I expect, like Begins with, Does Not Begins with, but I only see date related filters (Before, After, Between etc).
Likewise Filter > By Value only shows number related filters (Equals, Greater than etc).
I’ve tried making sure that column of data is formatted as Text (in the data and the pivot table) – though I didn’t do this previously when it was working. I’m using Excel Version 16.84 (24041420).
Any suggestions?

Lesson Learned #486: Snapshot Isolation Transaction Failed Due to a Concurrent DDL Statement
Today, we worked on a service request that our customer faced the following error message: Msg 3961, Level 16, State 1, Line 4 Snapshot isolation transaction failed in database ‘DbName’ because the object accessed by the statement has been modified by a DDL statement in another concurrent transaction since the start of this transaction. It is disallowed because the metadata is not versioned. A concurrent update to metadata can lead to inconsistency if mixed with snapshot isolation.
What is Snapshot Isolation?
Snapshot isolation allows transactions to read consistent versions of the data without blocking other transactions. However, this isolation level does not version metadata changes, such as table definitions, indexes, etc. Therefore, if a snapshot isolation transaction encounters a metadata change, it can lead to inconsistencies.
Example
First, let’s enable snapshot isolation in our database.
ALTER DATABASE DbName SET ALLOW_SNAPSHOT_ISOLATION ON;
ALTER DATABASE DBName SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON;
Then, let’s create a sample table.
CREATE TABLE Employees (
EmployeeID INT PRIMARY KEY,
Name NVARCHAR(50)
);
Let’s create two different transactions:
Transaction #1:
SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL SNAPSHOT;
BEGIN TRANSACTION;
SELECT * FROM Employees;
— Transaction A remains open
Transaction #2:
BEGIN TRANSACTION;
ALTER TABLE Employees ADD Email NVARCHAR(100);
COMMIT;
When trying to access the Employees table again in Transaction #1, the mentioned error will occur. Msg 3961, Level 16, State 1, Line 4
Snapshot isolation transaction failed in database ‘DbName’ because the object accessed by the statement has been modified by a DDL statement in another concurrent transaction since the start of this transaction. It is disallowed because the metadata is not versioned. A concurrent update to metadata can lead to inconsistency if mixed with snapshot isolation.
Solution and Best Practice
To avoid this error, it is recommended to avoid performing DDL operations in transactions that use snapshot isolation. If DDL operations are unavoidable, consider using a different isolation level or designing your application to minimize concurrency between DDL operations and long-running transactions.

How to Apply Easy Auth on Web App under a High-security policy environment
With increasing emphasis on security issues, enterprises are imposing significant restrictions on internal resources and operations accessible to employees. If your Azure account does not have sufficient AAD (i.e., of Microsoft Entra) permissions, you will be unable to swiftly create easy auth in a web app. This article serves as a simple guide to walk you through the process of setting up easy authentication for your web app.
Step 1: Create a Web App
You may choose any combination of region/sku/stack/OS, as it does not affect the overall process.
After this step, we will obtain a callback URL for use in the next step, with the following format:
https://<my-web-app-name>.azurewebsites.net/.auth/login/aad/callback
Here is my example.
https://easyauth-myapp.azurewebsites.net/.auth/login/aad/callback
Step 2: Create an App Registration
Input
Value
Who can use this application or access this API?
Accounts in this organizational directory only (Microsoft Non-Production only – Single tenant)
Redirect URI (optional)
Platform
Web
Redirect URI (optional)
URL
The callback URL you’ve setup in Step 1
Example: https://easyauth-myapp.azurewebsites.net/.auth/login/aad/callback
After this step, we will obtain an Application ID and a Tenant ID for use in the next step.
Meanwhile, we will obtain a issuer URL for use in the next step, with the following format:
https://sts.windows.net/<my-tenant-id>/v2.0
Step 3: Setup ID Token from App Registration
Go to Authentication page and check the “ID tokens (used for implicit and hybrid flows)” and save.
Step 4: Setup Easy Auth from Web App
Go to Authentication page, create a new authentication.
Input
Value
Identity provider
Microsoft
App registration type
Provide the details of an existing app registration
Application (client) ID
The Application (client) ID you’ve setup in Step 2
Issuer URL
The Issuer URL you’ve setup in Step 2
Allowed token audiences
It’s done!
Step 5: Try to use it.
If it’s your first time using it, you’ll see this authorization screen. Just click “Accept.”

Building symbolic expression with vars from vector
Is it possible, to build a symbolic expression with symbolic parameters/variables like in the minimal example below?
syms x y
syms j % index var
m = 10 % max index
p_j = sym(‘p’, [m 2]) % symbolic parameter vector
phi = sym(‘phi’, [m,1]) % symbolic vars
syms J_j(j) % helper expression
J_j(j) = sqrt((x-p_j(j,1))^2+(y-p_j(j,1))^2)*phi(j); % <-fails
J = symsum(J_j(j), j, 1, m) % final expression
The error is probably due to accessing a matrix.
I very much appreciate any response.

How do I implement a one-second buffer for incoming UDP data?
In my current UDP code, I receive data called "dataset" with five columns. However, I face an issue with manually specifying the array size as 6610, which is impractical for real-time applications. I need to modify the code to continuously read data for one second. For instance, while receiving data, I aim to wait for one second and then save the dataset. This should replace the static array size declaration, such as data = read(u2, 6610, "double").

Convert the Simulink model into C language code and port it to the Zyqn SDK platform
I used the Simulink function in Matlab to build a model of the power system as simple as possible, because I wanted to avoid the uncertainty factors generated by complex systems in the process of converting the model into C language code as much as possible. Firstly, ensure that there are no issues with model conversion before gradually optimizing and upgrading the model to achieve more complex functions. I hope to port the generated C code to the ZYQN platform, which means that full source code is required and there should be no other encapsulated parts that may cause incomplete porting. However, when setting code generation now, the option of Non reusable does not seem to guarantee that encapsulated parts will not be generated during the conversion process. How can I quickly and effectively check if there are any encapsulated parts in the generated code, or how can I avoid the generation of encapsulated parts。(All models need to be converted to source code. c. h, without any encapsulated parts)I used the Simulink function in Matlab to build a model of the power system as simple as possible, because I wanted to avoid the uncertainty factors generated by complex systems in the process of converting the model into C language code as much as possible. Invalid Matlab Runtime error
I am testing out matlab compiler by trying to install a compiled app on another PC. When I run the app I get a dos style popup with this error message:
MCR:mclmcr:MCLMCR_Invalid_Matlab_Runtime
It appears for less than a second then vanishes. These are the steps I followed:
Compile a dummy app with one line of code. Tick the "Runtime included in package" option. Link to where I have downloaded the appropriate version. Copy the mcr install executable to target PC and run it. This part seems to work fine. I am running R2023a update 3 (9.14.0.2286388) 64-bit (win64). The MCR download version is MATLAB_Runtime_R2023a_Update_3_win64. The target PC is a windows 64 bit ystem.
Then use the mcc command to compile my app. Copy that executable over to the other PC and run it.

The Extremely Useful Meeting Follow Response
The Follow response is a new option for people invited to a meeting to indicate that they can’t attend but are interested in what happens. Replying with a Follow response means that the user gains access to the meeting artifacts (like the chat and recap). It also means that the allotted time is not blocked in their calendar. The feature will be most valuable to people who have heavily-used calendars.

Why is my Win 11 slower than Win 10?
When I upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11 on my laptop, I noticed a significant decrease in performance. Tasks that used to be swift now take noticeably longer, and overall system responsiveness has decreased. From boot times to opening applications and navigating the interface. Despite my laptop meeting the system requirements for Win11, the transition has resulted in a frustrating experience where productivity is hampered by sluggish performance.

iOS distribution pipeline issue
Hello, I have two pipelines for development and distribution to testflight of my ios app. There are development/distribution certificate and provisioning profile for both the setup. My Development pipeline is working fine, but in distribution pipeline, on dotnet publish I’m getting the below error:
error : No valid iOS code signing keys found in keychain. You need to request a codesigning certificate from https://developer.apple.com.
Upon debugging, I found the following log
The certificate ‘Apple Distribution: ****** Limited (*******)’ does not match any of the prefixes ‘iPhone Developer’, ‘iOS Development’, ‘Apple Development’.
Do any of you know why it is looking for developer and development prefixes while this is for distribution. Is it any issue related to the task, if so can any of you suggest some alternate ways to sign. I’m using Azure DevOps pipeline.

Auto fill data in adjacent cells
Hello,
I am trying to automate filling in of data in a column based on the data in the adjacent column. Specifically, I have two columns in a sheet relating to Habitat code (column A [I.e g3c]) and Habitat name (Column B [i.e. [Other neutral grassland]) in a separate sheet (Sheet 2). I want the habitat name to auto fill based on the habitat code when entered in the column to the left for quickness instead of typing everything every time when in the field surveying. All functions I have seen have been either for numbers or are not working in my case. If there is a way I can auto fill data on my first sheet, that would be amazing and save time in the field.
Many thanks!

What are common causes for QuickBooks Data Migration Service and how can it be resolved?
Troubleshooting Solutions: QuickBooks Data Migration Service
QuickBooks Data Migration Service can be a complex process, but ensuring a smooth transition is essential for uninterrupted business operations. Several common issues may arise during the migration process, but with the right troubleshooting solutions, you can overcome these challenges effectively.
1. Data Mapping Errors:
Issue: Incorrect mapping of data fields can lead to discrepancies and errors in the migrated data.Solution: Before initiating the migration process, carefully review and map the source data fields to the corresponding fields in QuickBooks. Ensure that data formats and structures align correctly to prevent mapping errors.
2. Data Integrity Concerns:
Issue: Data integrity issues, such as missing or duplicated records, can occur during migration, leading to inaccurate financial reporting.Solution: Conduct thorough data cleansing and validation processes before migration. Verify data consistency, eliminate duplicates, and rectify any discrepancies to maintain data integrity. Utilize data validation tools or seek assistance from QuickBooks experts if needed.
3. Software Compatibility Issues:
Issue: Compatibility issues between the source system and QuickBooks software may arise, causing data migration failures.Solution: Ensure that both the source system and QuickBooks versions are compatible with each other. Update software versions if necessary and install any required patches or updates to avoid compatibility issues.
4. Large Data Volumes:
Issue: Migrating large volumes of data can slow down the migration process and overwhelm system resources.Solution: Break down the data migration process into smaller, manageable batches. Prioritize data based on relevance and importance, and migrate it in stages to minimize system overload and optimize performance.
5. Data Loss or Corruption:
Issue: Data loss or corruption can occur due to technical glitches or errors during the migration process.Solution: Implement robust data backup procedures before initiating the migration. Backup all source data to prevent loss and ensure quick recovery in case of any unforeseen issues. Verify data integrity post-migration to confirm successful transfer without any loss or corruption.
