How to obtain time-averaged wavelet spectral density by the new version of CWT?
I know how to obtain time-averaged wavelet spectral density by the old version of CWT, and the result is similar to the power spectral density (PSD) by function PWELCH. But how to obtain wavelet spectral density by the new version of CWT? Given that the old version is no longger recommended. Thank you. Here is the code and signal I used.

Hey, I’m of the impression that Excel is stuck in a old accountant dinosaur tech world.
The addition of “let” and js- like scripting is a small step forward..
But real improvement for humanity comes when you’re able to right-click and declare a “sheet” and/or “column” to be strongly typed, and support collections framework in formulas.
I.e [signedDisclosure].contains({“yes”;”maybe”})
I don’t even know if the lamda => operator is supported, but if, it should be readily available in common usecases, autocomplete etc.
Also:
I’d like som sort of primary key, to text imports i.e (“pete1″;{60;”washington”;”student”}) stored like a dictionary or complex object, without the hefty datamodel memory footprint.

I would like some help. I have made a Microsoft Forms. In this form I got 15 questions. One of the first questions is to give a name. My first question is that I would like to know how I can this Entire Form automatically to this person whose name is written in this question of the form. In other words: I would like to know how to make the person whose name is provided in the first question the recipient of the filled-out form. My second question is how I can save this Micrososft Forms responses in PDF or Word after all the questions are answered. Do I need the assistence of Power Automate for this? If so how do I incorperate them in this. Can someone please help me with this?

Retention Policies – Emails
Hello.
I need help automating my email retention policy.
The goal is to create 4 security groups and create adaptive scopes for each security group and apply retention policies depending on the security group. For example SG-1year members of this group will apply 1 year retention policies, I need to know if anyone already does this and how they implemented this solution.
I’ve thought about creating policies depending on departments and functions, but there are members with different policies
Does anyone have another solution for implementing retention policies?
Yours sincerely

Forward the message for approval to specific approvers not working
Hi,
I’ve created some DLP Policies and all is working with the exception of the “Forward the message for approval to specific approvers” Action.
When sending an email which is caught by the DLP Policy, the email is blocked, however the user that I have specified to be notified doesn’t receive anything.
My policy is applied only to Exchange email.
The Advanced rule conditions are:
Content is shared from Microsoft 365 with people outside my organization

Inspiring ways video can elevate your small business
Digital audiences are fluid and ever-changing, which means that your content needs to adapt to capture their interests and needs. Using video to communicate messaging and content from your small business is an innovative way to capture attention and drive engagement. No matter if you are a legacy business, a team wanting to make internal learning content, a startup looking to scale, or a newly launched brand looking to make it big on social media, video is a powerful force to communicate with your team and growing audience.
This helpful list will highlight a variety of video use cases where video and Microsoft Clipchamp can assist with boosting your online visibility and effectively connect with your audience.
Five video types that can propel your small business forward
1. Social Media Videos: Boost engagement and visibility
Social media can be a primary channel for small businesses to engage with a diverse audience. Creative and engaging social media videos allow your brand to resonate with customers and in turn increase engagement. Being present on social media whether it’s Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or other platforms, boosts your visibility and helps tell your story. A brand that customers can recognize is important for driving traffic and conversion and most importantly creates brand loyalty.
2. Promo Videos: Create hype and emotional connections
People love it when they are the first to know about something. Whether it’s the latest deal on a product or an announcement coming soon, promotional videos build hype for your business and a sense of exclusivity. As a result, this creates memorable moments for your brand that customers won’t forget. Promo videos allow your brand to have an emotional connection with your audience and these types of campaigns tend to go viral. For your next sale or announcement, consider the value of promo videos to elevate your brand narrative and start creating today with Clipchamp.
3. Product Demo Videos: Educate and clarify
Product demos are simple yet effective ways to educate your audience about a new feature or service. As a business, you cater to both old and new customers and it’s always safe to assume that your audience doesn’t know the latest developments in your business. A great product demo video allows your audience to know more about your business’ specific offerings and explains why the product is valuable to them. Furthermore, it avoids any confusion your customers may have when going through the customer buying experience. Product demo videos illustrate the depth of your product and provide a relatable story for your customers.
4. How-To Videos: Simplify processes and aid learning
Product demos and how-to videos are similar. However, how-to videos provide more specific guidance on how a product or service is used. How-to videos can also help your internal team. How-to videos break down what may seem complicated processes into digestible steps that members of your small business can follow. Onboarding, training, and tutorials around customer service will prepare your employees for the next problem they may face. And the great part about these visual step-by-step guides is that customers and employees can always refer to them whenever they need a refresher on a process. Whether it’s an external ecommerce process a user must go through or an internal guide on privacy, how-to videos are a great way to get your message across. Take the first step in creating How-to videos today with Clipchamp.
5. Business Culture Videos: Build trust and attract talent
Business culture videos are important for future talent looking to join your team or for a conscious-led audience looking to buy from businesses that share the same value as they do. These value-based videos highlight the integrity of your business, creating trust with both employees and customers. A business that is transparent and trustworthy not only attracts new people but also retains employees because of a shared sense of purpose and belonging. A small business that has highly engaged employees is a small business that strengthens brand love.

Deploy and manage Shifts to your Frontline teams in Teams Admin Center
Schedule and shift management are a foundational driver of productivity for frontline workforces. Shifts app offers a simple and effective way for managers and workers to manage their schedules with Microsoft Teams.
Previously, IT admins did not have the ability to control and standardize schedule management across frontline locations: only frontline managers managed both the set up and deployment of Shifts across their workforce.
What’s new?
We are thrilled to announce that IT admins can preconfigure Shifts settings in the Teams Admin Center and deploy to their frontline locations. This will standardize Shifts app settings across all locations, as admins will be able to uniformly set Shifts app settings, time-off reasons, and schedule groups across all frontline teams to avoid discrepancies between teams.
Key advantages included:
Frontline managers can skip setup and immediately start building their shift schedules out-of-the-box.
Shifts capabilities can be centrally managed across all locations by IT admins, and frontline managers can’t override them in Shifts.
How does it work?
In the Teams Admin Center, we’ve created a new entry point, “Manage frontline experiences”, for frontline app deployment and management.
On this page, admins click “Set up” across “Deploy Shifts to your teams” to launch the wizard to:
1. Configure Shifts settings : This will be set across all frontline teams. During this process, Admins define the following:
The Shifts requests capabilities are available for their frontline employees
The time-off reasons used when workers create time-off requests
Whether they allow time clock to be used in Shifts.
Here is an example:
2. Admins proceed to Create schedule groups. They start of by defining who will be granted the schedule owner permission across all frontline teams by creating a group on Microsoft Entra of all frontline managers. Schedule owners are managers on the ground who can create and assign shifts to their frontline workforce. To minimize manual updates to this group, it is recommended that admins create a dynamic group for schedule owners that will automatically update based on user attributes.
After defining the schedule owners, the admin can decide whether to delegate the creation and management of schedule groups to schedule owners or define schedule groups themselves. If the latter is chosen, these groups will be created across all frontline teams.
What are schedule groups in Shifts?
They are sub-divisions within a particular frontline team that will allow frontline managers to organize their workers accordingly. For example, the job is permitted for that location.
Now that the admin has completed setup of Shifts, frontline managers will not have to complete all these steps, and admins can continue to manage these settings for frontline managers in the future.
Admins will return to the “Manage frontline apps” landing page and can click on “Deploy”.
Admins will choose their desired frontline teams. Any frontline team that has been deployed through the deploy frontline dynamic teams experience in the Teams admin center will appear here. The admin can set the time zones for each location and deploy.
Need to make changes? No problem. You can modify Shifts app settings, like shift request capabilities, time-off reasons, time clock, schedule groups, and schedule owners by clicking “Deploy Shifts to your teams” again on the “Manage frontline apps” page. Any modifications you make will impact frontline teams where you have already deployed Shifts and any new teams you may deploy to in the future.
What’s the impact in Shifts?
In Shifts, frontline managers won’t have the ability to edit the pre-configured settings provided in Teams Admin Center. Only Admin can manage those settings centrally.
1. In the Settings page, Frontline Managers will be displayed with the following:
2. Additionally, if Admins selected to centrally manage schedule groups for the frontline teams, the frontline managers won’t be able to add, edit or delete the schedule groups created by the Admin. The following will be displayed to your frontline managers:
As a result, frontline managers do not have to spend time completing and managing Shifts settings. These settings will be managed by the admin to create a seamless experience for all frontline workers that ensures managers and workers at all locations can maximize productivity and facilitate their day-to-day workflows.
Experience it and provide us with your feedback!
Deploy Pre-configured Shifts to your frontline teams is now generally available. Try it out in the Teams Admin Center.

Lesson Learned #483: Optimizing Performance in Azure SQL Database ReadScale Out Databases
Introduction:
Today, I worked on a service request that our customer has a Business Critical database with 4 vCores and Read-Scale Out enabled. Our customer noticed several performance issues using Read-Scale Out database and I would like to explain several lessons learned found during the troubleshooting steps.
Initial Script Execution and Synchronization:
The investigation began with the execution of a script on the primary database, which populated approximately 7,864,320 rows. Synchronization between the primary and secondary databases was successfully completed, ensuring consistency in data distribution.
DROP TABLE IF EXISTS [dbo].[Notes]
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Notes](
[ID] [int] NULL,
[NAME] [varchar](200) NULL,
[id2] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT [PK_Notes] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ([id2] ASC))
————————————————-
— Create the store procedure
————————————————–
CREATE OR ALTER PROCEDURE dbo.GiveNotes
@N AS INT = null
AS
SELECT count(Name),name FROM Notes where ID<@n group by Name
————————————————–
— Insert data
————————————————–
INSERT INTO Notes (ID,Name) SELECT RAND()*(100000 – 1) + 1, ‘Info:’+convert(varchar(200),RAND()*(100000 – 1) + 1)
————————————————–
— Execute this query several times –
————————————————–
INSERT INTO Notes (ID,Name) SELECT RAND()*(100000 – 1) + 1, ‘Info:’+convert(varchar(200),RAND()*(100000 – 1) + 1) FROM Notes
Observations on Secondary Database:
Running the following script (we never executed this query previously in the primary) it was observed that temporary automatic statistics were created (sys.stats (Transact-SQL) – SQL Server | Microsoft Learn ) , indicating potential areas for optimization and needed for this workload and will be deleted in case of any reconfiguration/failover. You could see them using the column is_temporary in sys.stats.
Analysis of the execution plan highlighted a recommendation for index creation to improve query performance.
declare @n as int = 0
set @n=RAND()*(100000 – 1) + 1
EXEC dbo.GiveNotes @n
Identifying Performance Bottlenecks:
Further analysis revealed that the query execution was consuming a significant amount of CPU resources on the secondary database. To pinpoint the underlying issues, a query was executed to identify the top CPU-intensive operations.
— Which Queries are taking the most time/cpu to execute
SELECT TOP 5
total_worker_time, total_elapsed_time,
total_worker_time/execution_count AS avg_cpu_cost, execution_count,
(SELECT DB_NAME(dbid) + ISNULL(‘..’ + OBJECT_NAME(objectid), ”)
FROM sys.dm_exec_sql_text([sql_handle])) AS query_database,
(SELECT SUBSTRING(est.[text], statement_start_offset/2 + 1,
(CASE WHEN statement_end_offset = -1
THEN LEN(CONVERT(nvarchar(max), est.[text])) * 2
ELSE statement_end_offset
END – statement_start_offset) / 2
)
FROM sys.dm_exec_sql_text([sql_handle]) AS est) AS query_text,
total_logical_reads/execution_count AS avg_logical_reads,
total_logical_writes/execution_count AS avg_logical_writes,
last_worker_time, min_worker_time, max_worker_time,
last_elapsed_time, min_elapsed_time, max_elapsed_time,
plan_generation_num, qp.query_plan
FROM sys.dm_exec_query_stats
OUTER APPLY sys.dm_exec_query_plan([plan_handle]) AS qp
WHERE [dbid] >= 5 AND DB_NAME(dbid) IS NOT NULL
AND (total_worker_time/execution_count) > 100
–ORDER BY avg_cpu_cost DESC;
–ORDER BY execution_count DESC;
ORDER BY total_worker_time DESC;
Proposed Solutions and Implementation: To address the performance challenges, several actions were proposed:
Removing temporary statistics generated on the secondary database.
Creating the recommended index on the primary replica to enhance query execution.
Executing necessary scripts on the primary replica to ensure optimal performance.
Actions done:
If the indexes is needed, the first topic is to remove statistics using the command: DROP STATISTICS NOTES.[_WA_Sys_00000002_5AEE82B9_readonly_database_statistics]
select * from sys.stats
inner join sys.tables on sys.stats.object_id = sys.tables.object_id
where is_temporary=1
Create the index needed in primary replica CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [NOTES_IX1] ON [dbo].[Notes] ([ID] ASC) include (name)
Execute the script in the primary replica if any additional statistics is needed to create or any other topic:
declare @n as int = 0
set @n=RAND()*(100000 – 1) + 1
EXEC dbo.GiveNotes @n
We could see that right now the primary has all the details and secundary will not needed to create additional statistics and will use the index to improve the query performance.

Cannot create Information Barrier Policy
Hi, I have created two segments within Information Barriers in Microsoft Purview. I have then tried to create a Policy that blocks one segment from the other using both the UI and PowerShell, but I get the same error every time.

Am I missing something? Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just me? Right now, I can create many policies at all.

M365 Copliot’s Approach to Data Privacy
1. You control your data :
Microsoft does not use customer data to train foundation LLMs that Copilot uses.
2. You know where your data is located:
Customers specify a country or region while signing up for a new Microsoft 365 tenant. That selection determines the tenant’s default geography. Microsoft makes decisions on where to store customer data by combining that default geography with the available geographies for each service.
3. We secure your data at rest and in transit
Data residency commitments provide customers with additional confidence about the location or locations where data is stored at rest.Data is in transit whenever a user’s device is communicating with a Microsoft server, or when a Microsoft server is communicating with another server.Encryption both at rest and in transit helps provided protections against unauthorized access, disclosure, sharing or usage of data.

Integrate MS AI into our 3rd party app
Is there a way to integrate AI (copilot) into our 3rd party app? Our app is used by large number of users to access technical content. They have to navigate through tons of content which is not very efficient. The AI for example could based on the user profile, push matching content on the top. This is just one example, there are many more.
I am not sure whether MS NP division has any dedicated team who collaborate with NP organisations like us on such needs, is there a way to contact someone there?
Luckily, I found this community while looking for ways to contact MS. I can already see some interesting discussions in different sections.

New equivalent of HTML Security Settings
Hi All,
I’m creating a SharePoint page for a company and wish to embed a number of things on their SharePoint home page. Ordinarily I would change settings in “HTML Security Settings” to allow content from specific websites however since the change to the new Admin Center i’m unable to access the relevant pages to access HTML Security Settings.
There doesn’t appear to be any information online; the closest I have come is under the ‘Properties’ heading on the below:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/site-collections-page?WT.mc_id=365AdminCSH_spo
But there are no settings which allow me to approve websites; as was possible via HTML Security Settings:

Brainstorming with Copilot in Whiteboard – HLS Copilot Snacks
Brainstorming is a creative process that can benefit from the use of digital tools like Microsoft Whiteboard. With Copilot for Microsoft 365, you can enhance your brainstorming sessions by getting relevant suggestions and insights based on your whiteboard content. Copilot can help you:
– Find and insert images, icons, or stickers related to your topic
– Generate catchy headlines, slogans, or taglines for your ideas
– Explore different perspectives, angles, or approaches to your problem
– Summarize the main points or outcomes of your brainstorming
– Share your whiteboard with others and get feedback or comments
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is your smart assistant that can help you brainstorm better and faster in Microsoft Whiteboard.
In this Copilot Snack I demonstrate the use of free written prompts for brainstorming as well as the use of a document summarization in the Whiteboard prompt box.
