Including hyperlinks when linking cells in different sheets
Hello! So, I have a file with several sheets – the first is a master list of cells linking to external resources, while the other sheets are divided by topic. Each cell in the master list sheet contains the text name of the link (for example “Health Equity”) and a static hyperlink (for example https://www.phaboard.org/wp-content/uploads/Health-Equity.pdf).
What I need to do is link both the cell content AND it’s hyperlink on another sheet. With this example, that would be the sheet containing all the health equity resources. These individual topic sheets contain the external resources as well as other content, and are ultimately saved as PDFs and included as part of an online training course, so the external hyperlinks need to be included.
The goal is to be able to scroll down the master list and click on each cell to check that the link still works – the webpage hasn’t been changed, etc. If a link does need to be edited, I want to be able to edit both the title (the text in the cell) and the hyperlink itself from the master list sheet AND have them both automatically update in the linked cell on another sheet, so that all I have to do is re-save the sheet as a PDF.
I know how to link the text in the cell to a different sheet, using either paste special>paste link or the formula =’sheetname’!$G12, but this does not include the hyperlink. I still have to update that manually. Does anyone know a way for the external hyperlink to be included in the formula (or multiple formulas) so that both are updated simultaneously? Thank you!
