Microsoft Authenticator not showing a code for MFA
We’ve been having an ongoing issue with nearly all users over time reporting that the Microsoft Authenticator app is not providing a two digit code when a service is prompting for it.
The solution has been to go to Entra ID portal, select ‘require re-register MFA’, have them delete their account in Authenticator, and re-register the device.
Specifically, this is a report I’ve received from one user: Trying to get into my office acct but it’s saying I need a code from my authenticator app. I have it on my phone but it’s not giving me a code.
What is causing this to happen for everyone and what can we do to prevent this?
