Users not being able to see other users uploaded file in SharePoint document library.
Hi All,
I have made a SharePoint document library where i want my users to not see each other uploaded files and other filled columns in SharePoint document library.
Secondly i also want to know if there is any way to upload a file and fill other columns at the same time so that i can apply permission to stop editing after filled once.
Please let me know if there is any solutions for this questions.

Enable Annotation Tools for Screen Sharing
Hello,
I hope this message finds you all well. I am writing to request an enhancement to the screen-sharing and annotation capabilities in Microsoft Teams, specifically to improve the experience for interactions with external parties.
Feature Request:
We kindly request the following enhancements to be considered for future updates to Microsoft Teams:
Enable Annotation Tools for Screen Sharing: Allow external meeting participants to use annotation tools, such as drawing, highlighting, and pointing, directly on the shared screen when interacting with external participants. This feature would greatly enhance the ability to guide users through complex processes and provide visual instructions.
I understand Microsoft developed something over the past couple of years, but the feature didn’t work as promised. All that needs to be done is to copy the Zoom/Slack solution.
Can someone help me with where I can follow a feature request?

Windows 11 24H2 update KB5040435 will not install
I received KB5040435 which is a cumulative update. Goes all the way through and then says something is wrong and uninstalls. Error code is 0x8000f0922 Tried multiple times. Tried the update troubleshooter, DISM and SFC. I did a restore point of a month ago. 24H2 26100.1080 now.
The process takes a long time to uninstall and go back. Since the Updates are totally automatic, the process will repeat every time there is a new update unless I select the delay option. I have tried to install the out of date hide show utility, but I cannot get it installed.
Am I domed to live with this forever?

Validate open text responses in Microsoft Forms
I’m excited to share that you can apply more rules to your open text questions in Microsoft Forms, enhancing the accuracy and quality of the data collected! Now you can create rules that help you validate the format of answers like emails and URLs. You can also require specific text in the answer and provide minimum or maximum length requirements. Let’s dive in and see how we can better use this in our daily work. You can also try setting restrictions yourself with this template.
Imagine you are creating a customer satisfaction survey. You add the following restrictions to your open text question to ensure the responses are meaningful and actionable:
Input must contain a certain word
To gather customers’ feedback on their overall experience with a specific product, ensure their response includes keywords such as “experience” to guide them in providing relevant feedback.
Input length
In such a form, we usually ask customers for additional comments or suggestions. We can set a character limit for responses, such as no more than 250 characters, to encourage clear and sufficiently detailed feedback that is easy to analyze and take action on.
Email validation
In the end of the survey, you need to ask respondents to provide their email address for follow-up. Now you can validate that the input is a properly formatted email address to ensure accurate communication.
Responder experience
When responders open the survey, they will find default text in the text box reminding them to input answers in the correct format. If they enter an incorrect format, they will be unable to submit the form.
We only listed a few options you can use for your open text questions. Please refer to the table below for all the rules available.

Validation for Sharepoint list (not a form)
I have a Sharepoint list that I have attempted to add list validation to. We are using the list version, not a form.
To add a entry the user clicks new” and fills out the entries and submits.
I have a field “Whos Your Caller”. The choices for the field are Employee, Third Party, or Client.
If Third Party or Client is selected, Then the field titled “Caller Name/Location/Contact” needs to be required.
My research shows that the list validation formula should be
=IF(OR([Who’s Your Caller?]=”Client”,[Who’s Your Caller?]=”Third Party”),IF(ISBLANK([Caller Name/Location/Contact]),FALSE,TRUE),TRUE)
When i test it, I select client and leave the Caller Name/Location field blank. The list allows me to submit, with no error message. However after refreshing I get a error message stating “sync issues couldn’t upload new list item” (image of error below) .
This only appears after submitting the list item and purposely not meeting the validation I set forth above. At that point the only option given is to delete the items or save it (which downloads a csv). IT still does not state what the error is (although I know) or allow correction of the entry.
I would ideally like for the list to NOT allow to be submitted if the validation is not met. When they hit “Save” on the new list item, I want the error to pop up to advise that the field “Caller Name/Location/Contact” can not be left blank.
It appears I have the formula correct for the validation. But how do i get the error message to display on the list item entry itself?
I know how to accomplish this if I was using a form. I could use power apps to create an error message on the submit button. But since this is a list item not a form. Im not sure how to accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Microsoft Stream Admin Center?
Similar to its previous version, are there a new admin center for Stream so that we (global admins) can manage the recordings that was done within our organization?
An incident recently occurred where we used one of our VC accounts to record a webinar but then the recording was saved in a OneDrive of one of our employees randomly.
As admins previously, we would be able to download the recording directly without having to request access from the user.
I hope this wasn’t how Microsoft intends to move forward with the new stream application.

How can I appear “busy” to external users during a date range in Bookings?
In my company, we have a monthly collaboration week where employees come into the office. During that week each month, I don’t want external users viewing “Book time with me” to see my availability. I want to block that time to dedicate myself to internal meetings. I want coworkers to be able to see my availability and schedule time with me via Outlook calendar requests. Can I appear “busy” externally only during that week? This is related to both Outlook and Bookings, but I am not finding a tag for Bookings at all.

Are Proxy Servers Supported in the Linux Version of Edge?
I can’t find proxy server settings in edge. Online advice says to go to “Advanced Settings” in “settings” but there is no “Advanced Settings” in the linux version. The search box in Settings returns no info about proxy server settings. This is “Version 126.0.2592.87 (Official build) (64-bit)”.
Any ideas? Is this capability removed from edge?

Word templates in SharePoint are now opening as new documents instead of the template itself opening
Up until a couple of weeks ago, if I had a .dotx or .dotm file in SharePoint, clicking on it in the browser would open the template so that I can edit it. Suddenly, I get a “Document 1” as if I’d double clicked it from Explorer. This is fine as a user, as I’ve had times where people have a bunch of documents saved as templates as they’ve opened the template and saved.
However, how am I supposed to edit the templates now? I know I can do it via syncing and opening up via Explorer, however this is not ideal as if a document linked to it is in use, my changed version won’t sync or will be uploaded as a copy with my laptop name appended to it. The version of the template that everyone is linked to will remain unchanged.

Delivery %complete Combo Chart Doughnut Secondary Axis & pointer is Scatter w/ Straight Line
I don’t have access to the “Calculation” Sheet that I pulled the below screenshots to, so I’m unable to figure out how to produce the below delivery dashboard that tells you percent delivered while having the blue line move pointing at the location on the Doughnut chart that represents that % complete. Can someone send an excel sheet that produces this graph that includes the sheet that it pulls the data from so I can see how to create this?

1) SharePoint Files dataset public availability – August 20th, 2024
The SharePoint Files dataset will be available publicly starting on August 20th, 2024. Any tenant signed up for the Microsoft Graph Data Connect (MGDC) for SharePoint will be able to access it following the regular steps for MGDC. For details on this and other datasets, see https://aka.ms/SharePointDatasets.
2) SharePoint Files dataset pricing – $0.75 per 50,000 objects
The SharePoint Files dataset will be billed at the reduced rate of $0.75 per 50,000 objects. This differentiated pricing applies only to the SharePoint Files dataset. There is no change to the billing of other MGDC datasets (including other SharePoint datasets), which will continue to be billed at their current rate. Billing for the SharePoint Files dataset will start when it becomes publicly available on August 20th, 2024.
3) SharePoint Files private preview extended to August 19th, 2024
The ongoing SharePoint Files dataset private preview will be extended until August 19th, 2024. For those tenants currently in the free private preview, billing will also start on August 20th, 2024 at the rate of $0.75 per 50,000 objects (as explained in #2 above). We are no longer accepting new tenants into the ongoing private preview.

Clear labeling and protection (encryption) of confidential files helps communicate the importance and sensitivity of an item and protects against exfiltration to unauthorized users, as well as can prevent copy and paste, forward or print actions.
However, there is a situation where labels and protections aren’t enough. It’s still possible for users to take screenshots or pictures with a camera of confidential files. These pictures can end up in the wrong hands of competitors or the public via website posts.
With Microsoft Purview Information Protection, we provide an integrated solution that is built-in, intelligent, unified, and extensible. It identifies and protects sensitive data across your digital estate, which includes Microsoft clouds such as Microsoft 365 and Azure, as well as on-premises, hybrid and third-party clouds, and SaaS applications.

Dynamic watermarking extends protection of sensitive data by enabling an extra deterrent to oversharing by attributing the source of any potential leaks to specific people via their email address, as shown in the image below.
