Create a new workbook with each new row
Hello All,
I’m looking to link and create a new Excel workbook whenever I create a new row.
For example;
Whenever I create a new row I want excel to make a new workbook that is saved on the internal server.
The name of this workbook will need to contain the information in cells D & E.
A hyperlink on cell C will need to open this workbook.
Reason for this seperate workbook is so that information on a project can be stored in this workbook & the original overview file can be kept clean with only the essential information.
I can understand that this question might be unclear. If you need any more info, please feel free to ask!

Latest Word (16.84) ignores rules and a font it’s accepted before
The latest version of Word for Mac (Office Home & Business 2021) was recently updated – and a font that I’ve installed and that all other apps I have recognize, and that Word had recognized before, is suddenly not recognized by Word, in its list of fonts. How can this be? The font is clearly installed properly, is recognized by other apps that use fonts, and was recognized by Word in the previous version I used. How can it suddenly stop being recognized?
I use rules a lot – lines across the page – that are inserted by hitting three consecutive hyphens and then a return. This same file used many such rules – but the same latest version of Word suddenly has eliminated all those rules when I open the file. How can is suddenly stop recognizing those lines (rules)?
Shouldn’t new versions of Word be tested before released? Doesn’t Microsoft have quality control – that would make sure all things that used to work continue to work when they release a new version?
As a prior software developer, this is hard for me to understand – how such a widely held app like Word for the Mac would not go through testing before a new version is released.

In SharePoint, when you hover over or click a profile image, it opens the contact details with option to “Start Chat” — is there a way to create this link in JSON? Or a way to click a link and open MS Teams directly to chat with the person?
I’m currently using the following, which works but it first opens Teams on the current browser tab and user has to select either open on client or continue on the web:

New Blog | Platform SSO for macOS now in public preview
Today we’re announcing that Platform SSO for macOS is available in public preview with Microsoft Entra ID. Platform SSO is an enhancement to the Microsoft Enterprise SSO plug-in for Apple devices that makes usage and management of Mac devices more seamless and secure.
At the start of public preview, Platform SSO will work with Microsoft Intune. Additional mobile device management (MDM) providers will be added during the public preview. Please contact your MDM provider for more information on support and availability.
As part of this release, we’re introducing Microsoft Entra Join for macOS. This feature uses the Enterprise SSO plug-in to create a hardware-bound device record in Entra ID. Entra Join requires the use of an Entra ID organizational account.
In addition, we’re making three new ways to authenticate available, all configurable with MDM and available as part of Microsoft Entra ID Free:
Passwordless authentication with Secure Enclave: Like Windows Hello for Business, this method allows the user to interactively sign in to the desktop with their local account and password. Once the user signs in, a hardware-bound cryptographic key stored in the device’s Secure Enclave can be used as a trusted credential with Entra ID, giving the user SSO across applications that use Entra ID for authentication. This method allows users to go passwordless with Touch ID to unlock their device and be signed into Entra ID under the hood using a device-bound key. It can save organizations money by removing the need to purchase security keys, card readers, or other hardware. For information on our security and compliance standards, please see this guide.

Forcing SharePoint (or OneDrive) to local user information list
There was (maybe still is) a parameter to put on the URL of people.aspx (I believe it was people.aspx) to force the display of the user information from the site collection user information list (instead of being redirected to Delve). Trying to troubleshoot a ‘permissions’ issue and want to verify that there is an account mismatch for a user (our CIO) before touching anything. Anyone remember this? I had it noted can’t find it nor can I find it online anymore.

How to create a measure that dynamically updates
I organized my data in power query and used power pivot to create a pivot table off that data model. I have the years 2019-2023 as columns in this current dataset. However, sometimes when I refresh, a 2024 column will be added. How do I create a new measure column that will take the sum of columns 2019:2023 as well as 2019:2024 without me having to manually edit the formula to include the new column?
Additionally, I have metrics that I will be conditionally formatting this table on. For example, I will want all values less than 100,000 filled green. How do I make this dynamic so that it works with the occasional inclusion of another column (2024)? I’ve tried but when I select 2019:2023 as my value range, it hard codes the formula and does not apply to the new column.

Unable to uninstall custom app
I’m building an app for my company, and I got it approved for my org by IT. I am testing the uninstall and install flow, but I am unable to uninstall the app.
From Apps > Manage your apps > select my app > click the trash can
“There was an error trying to remove YOUR APP. Please try again”.
I have tried restarting the Teams desktop app, clearing the cache, logging out and logging in. Is there a way to force uninstall the app?

Generating Tables from List of Entries
I’m looking for some help finding a way to automatically generate tables from a list of entries with multiple data points. For context, we use Excel to create a bill of materials table which we then link to a table in an AutoCAD .dwg file for our design drawings. Right now I have a separate Excel file set up with a long list of all the parts we commonly use, with one row per part, and each column has data like catalog number, description, power rating, temperature rating, heat loss, etc. (some columns are formatted for text, some are for numbers). I’ll copy over the manufacturer, part number, and description cells from the data file to the BOM file, then tell AutoCAD to link the relevant cells.
I want to expand the functionality of this table. What I imagine the high-level description to be is this:
User copies/pastes rows for all the parts used in a design from the data file into sheet 1 of the BOM file. The user enters the ID number and quantity for each part and marks specific devices that must be shown in a separate table for torque and temperature specs.Excel takes each entry’s ID number, quantity, catalog number, manufacturer, and description and puts those cells in a table on sheet 2. The table is linked to the AutoCAD BOM table.Excel looks for all the rows in sheet 1 that have an entry for heat loss and puts their ID number, catalog number, and heat loss entries in a table on sheet 3. The values are summed to give the total heat loss, and the table is linked to another AutoCAD table.Excel looks for all the rows in sheet 1 that have been marked for the torque and temperature ratings table, and puts their entries for ID number, part number, torque, and temperature into a table on sheet 4. The table is linked to a third AutoCAD table.

With 98% of organizations using public cloud embracing a multicloud strategy[1], many of our customers use Microsoft Defender Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) in Defender for Cloud to get visibility across their multicloud environments and address cloud sprawl. With the complexities of AI workloads and its configurations across models, SDKs, and connected datastores – visibility into their inventory and the risks associated with them is more important than ever.
To enable customers to gain a better understanding of their deployed AI applications and get ahead of potential threats – we’re announcing the public preview of AI security posture management (AI-SPM) as part of Defender CSPM.
Defender CSPM can automatically and continuously discover deployed AI workloads with agentless and granular visibility into presence and configurations of AI models, SDKs, and technologies used across AI services such as Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, and Amazon Bedrock.
The new AI posture capabilities in Defender CSPM discover GenAI artifacts by scanning code repositories for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) misconfigurations and scanning container images for vulnerabilities. With this, security teams have full visibility of their AI stack from code to cloud and can detect and fix vulnerabilities and misconfigurations before deployment. In the example below, the cloud security explorer can be used to discover several running containers across clouds using LangChain libraries with known vulnerabilities.
By mapping out AI workloads and synthesizing security insights such as identity, data security, and internet exposure, Defender CSPM continuously surfaces contextualized security issues and suggests risk-based security recommendations tailored to prioritize critical gaps across your AI workloads. Relevant security recommendations also appear within the Azure OpenAI resource itself in Azure portal, providing developers or workload owners direct access to recommendations and helping remediate faster.
Grounding and fine tuning are top of mind for organizations to infuse their GenAI with the relevant business context. Our attack path analysis capability can identify sophisticated risks to AI workloads including data security scenarios where grounding or fine-tuning data is exposed to the internet through lateral movement and is susceptible to data poisoning.
A common oversight around grounding happens when the GenAI model is grounded with sensitive data and could pose an opening to sensitive data leaks. It is important to follow architecture and configuration best practices to avoid unnecessary risks such as unauthorized or excessive data access. Our attack paths will find sensitive data stores that are linked to AI resources and extend wide privileges. This will allow security teams to focus their attention on the top recommendations and remediations to mitigate this.
Furthermore, attack path analysis in Defender CSPM can discover risks for multicloud scenarios, such as an AWS workload using an Amazon Bedrock model, and cross-cloud, mixed stacks that are typical architectures where the data and compute resources are in GCP or AWS and leverage Azure OpenAI model deployments.
Stay secure in runtime with threat protection for AI workloads
With organizations racing to embed AI as part of their enterprise-built applications, security teams need to be prepared with tailored threat protection to emerging threats to AI workloads. The potential attack techniques targeting AI applications do not revolve around the AI model alone, but rather the entire application as well as the training and grounding data it can leverage.
To complement our posture capabilities, today we are thrilled to announce the limited public preview of threat protection for AI workloads in Microsoft Defender for Cloud. The new threat protection offering leverages a native integration Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Content Safety prompt shields and Microsoft threat intelligence to deliver contextual and actionable security alerts. Threat protection for AI workloads allows security teams to monitor their Azure OpenAI powered applications in runtime for malicious activity associated with direct and in-direct prompt injection attacks, sensitive data leaks and data poisoning, as well as wallet abuse or denial of service attacks.
GenAI applications are commonly grounded with organizational data, if sensitive data is held in the same data store, it can accidentally be shared or solicited via the application. In the alert below we can see an attempt to exfiltrate sensitive data using direct prompt injection on an Azure OpenAI model deployment. By leveraging the evidence provided, SOC teams can investigate the alert, assess the impact, and take precautionary steps to limit users access to the application or remove the sensitive data from the grounding data source.
Defender for Cloud has built-in integrations into Microsoft Defender XDR, so security teams can view the new security alerts related to AI workloads using Defender XDR portal. This gives more context to those alerts and allows correlations across cloud resources, devices, and identities alerts. Security teams can also use Defender XDR to understand the attack story, and related malicious activities associated with their AI applications, by exploring correlations of alerts and incidents.

Project Desktop – Actual vs Remaining Costs

I have an issue with either my installation or my brain. I always used project this way and never had an issue before.
I have costs resources with a estimated cost allocated to a task. The task is baselined with the estimated cost. When I type in the actual cost (which is lower than the estimated amount) for the activity, the Remaining Cost drops to 0 and the estimated Cost “Cost” is changed to the actual cost I just entered.
The “Actual costs are always calculated by Project” setting is deselected. Doesn’t matter if I change the setting or Task Type, the problem remains.
What am I doing wrong?
