AVD pool – performance issues
Hi All,
Hope everyone are doing well ! I have came up with a question would be helpful to share your experience.
In AVD host pools, I have a scenario where I have 50 users assigned to AVD pool, the users are standard users with same average workload per user. They all use Microsoft apps like outlook, chrome, excel. Currently, I have pool configured to run four D8sv3 session hosts.
But after using this settings for 1 week, users are now complaining about performance issues in their sessions. I feel memory should be the major issue.
If I upgrade the pool to eight D4sv3 or eight E4sv3 or two E16sv3 VMs will it resolve the issue?
Can you suggest either one of these options for upgrading the pools configured ?
Thanks.

SharePoint home page not working
Hi Community friends!
Hopefully somebody is able to help me out. A customer of mine is using a SharePoint community site. The site itself is working just fine. Employees can reach it with a link, and all seems well.
However, one thing is not going as planned. When I lookup this site in the SharePoint admin center and from there I click on the site address, I get a 404 not found page:
It only occurs on the site address. All other pages (including the Home page (home.aspx) is working just fine. I’ve checked if something have been deleted, but nothing in the recycle bin.
I’ve tried to rename the site address in the settings of the site in the SharePoint admin center, but so far, nothing worked.
Hopefully somebody is willingly to let his/her magic work! Thanks very much in advance!

How to get Sharing Details in App Designer
Hello,
is there a method to get the sharing details of the App Designer into my code.
For example I want to display the version and name of the app somewhere in my GUI without programming it directly. So when I create a new version of my app I only have to change the information in the sharing details and it will be updated in my GUI automatically.

Established method for extracting transient part for complicated signal?
So I have this signal that tends to vary in both mean and overall shape, and I believe there is a transient part in the signal that I would like to extract somehow. Given the appearance of the signal I’m not sure which method is reliable. I have tried computing the variance using the movvar function and find that the variance drops after a few seconds. So my question is: is there any good way of identifying transient parts of a more complicated signal? Here is an example of how my signal looks like.So I have this signal that tends to vary in both mean and overall shape, and I believe there is a transient part in the signal that I would like to extract somehow. Risky sign-ins not showing anything
Hi,
For some time already, I am not sure why but I cannot see anything in risky sign-ins in Identity Protection (MS Entra). Even when I receive a summary email (Microsoft Entra ID Protection Weekly Digest) mentioning there were risky sinn-ings detected.
When I click on the risky signings directly in the email to take me to the report, I see no data there at all… When I modify filters to include all, nothing shows up either. It has been like this for few months already. Before, I could see them with no issues.
Has anything changed? Or why I can’t see any records?

Working with Calendar Permissions using the Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK
The Set-MailboxFolderPermission cmdlet is usually used to set calendar permissions, including the permission for the default user to allow everyone in an organization to see each other’s calendars. But you can use cmdlets from the Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK too. The Graph SDK cmdlets are faster, but not enough to warrant replacing the Exchange cmdlet in scripts. We explain why here.

tab key doesn’t type tab character in code editor
i’m writing scripts in the automate tab. when i’m in the code editor and press the tab key, it does not type a tab character, nor does it properly autocomplete the suggestion. Instead, it switches focus to the “Insert action” button. Subsequent tab presses switch focus to other elements of the GUI until the focus ends up on a cell and then just keeps moving over to the right.
I used to be able to type tabs and select autocompletes with the tab button. Then, this behavior seemed to appear after the first time I used the “insert action” button to record something. I can’t find any setting to change back to the original behavior. quitting excel or restarting doesn’t fix it. It’s so frustrating.

Lesson Learned #503: Lessons Learned Using JDBC Logging with Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server
A few days ago, our customer encountered connectivity issues while using HikariCP in their Java application. To troubleshoot the problem, we enabled detailed logging for the Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server. This logging gave me a lot of information and details, following I would like to share my lessons learned here.
To capture detailed logs, we configured the Java logging framework to record the operations of the JDBC driver at a fine-grained level.
To enable the logging I included these instrucctions in the code:
import java.util.logging.*;
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{
Logger globalLogger1 = Logger.getLogger(Logger.GLOBAL_LOGGER_NAME);
globalLogger1.setLevel(Level.FINE);
Logger rootLogger1 = Logger.getLogger(“”);
rootLogger1.setLevel(Level.FINE); // Set the root logger level
// Create a custom formatter
Formatter customFormatter = new Formatter() {
@Override
public String format(LogRecord record) {
return String.format(“[%1$tF %1$tT] [%2$s] %3$s %n”,
record.getMillis(),
record.getLevel().getName(),
record.getMessage());
}
};
// Remove all existing handlers
// Create a new console handler
ConsoleHandler consoleHandler = new ConsoleHandler();
consoleHandler.setLevel(Level.FINE); // Set the level for console handler
consoleHandler.setFormatter(customFormatter);
//consoleHandler.setFormatter(new SimpleFormatter()); // Set the formatter
// Add the new handler to the root logger
rootLogger1.addHandler(consoleHandler);
// Set specific log levels for SQL Server JDBC driver
Logger sqlLogger = Logger.getLogger(“com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc”);
sqlLogger.setLevel(Level.FINE);
Logger sqlDataSourceLogger = Logger.getLogger(“com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDataSource”);
sqlDataSourceLogger.setLevel(Level.FINE);
}
Basically, after enabling this information we could see the following details (as an example):
ConnectionID.
Redirection (depending on connection policy).
Login Timeout.

Multiplot Legend Item remains after line visible property put to “off”
Hi, on a previous post I was kindly showed how to "disable a plot" on a set of plots. What I actually want to do is temporarily remove it and Steven Lord suggested using the "visible" parameter
So I use a checkbox to allow me to toggle on or off the last line plotted:
val = app.VisibleOFFlastplotCheckBox.Value;
ax=app.UIAxes;
t = ax.Children(1); % Get last plot
switch val
case 1
t.Visible=’off’;
case 0
t.Visible=’on’;
end
Whilst this works, it doesn’t seem to remove the legend item, but instead Greys it out.
So to show this, the purple curve below is the one I want to remove / hide (note if remove it, I want the possibility of adding it back which is why Steven suggested the "visible" approach)
And here’s what happens once I set the visible property of the line to "off" – notice the legen item is still present
So how can I hide / temporarily remove the last legend item?
Thanks

How to limit input current of Asynchrous machine?
Hey, everyone,
I wana simulate a induction motor, as shown in the image. I chose DC voltage source(220V), Universal bridge(IGBT) to get a three-phase voltage source, and chose synchronous Machine SI Units block as induction motor. The control mode is V/F, and got ideal 1373 rpm speed, but sadly, the stator current was much larger than the rate current (0.79A), I dont konw why.
Now, I tried to limit the input current by Saturation block, but it can’t conncect to Universal bridge 🙁 .
Anyone helps? Looking forward.

Edge Update Policy is not applied on WIN 11 PRO for workstation device, (MDM by Intune)
Hello,
We found Edge (V125) Update Policies are not applied on WIN 11 PRO for workstation (23H2) device, which is managed by MDM-enrollment. Not sure if it is by design purpose or not.
Even we enrolled the device into Intune, and configure the policy using admin template, and the device has received the policy and updated in the registry, however on edge://policy page, there are not policies displayed at all (in Microsoft EdgeUpdte Policy section). Only normal edge policies are applied.
Could you pls look into it, coz it works on win 11 pro version and can not understand why it is not working on proworkstation, anyway, it is just a branch of pro version.
