Can you do the writeline function without the added terminator?
I know that the writeline function adds the ‘n’ terminator at the end of a string, but I was wondering if there was a way to write strings without the terminator. Lets look at the following example:
s = serialport(‘COM7’, 9600); % Open the serial port
choice = randi(2);
if choice == 1
writeline(s, "Bananas ");
elseif choice == 2
writeline(s, "Apples ");
end
writeline(s, "are good");
delete(s);
Notice how the intended output could either be "Bananas are good" or "Apples are good". However in practice, it becomes "Bananas
are good" or "Apples
are good". Is there any way to just stop this terminator from even activating?I know that the writeline function adds the ‘n’ terminator at the end of a string, but I was wondering if there was a way to write strings without the terminator. Lets look at the following example:

How to download TikTok video without watermark?
I’m looking for some help with downloading TikTok videos without the watermark. I’ve tried a few methods I found online, but they either don’t work or they end up downloading the video with the TikTok watermark still visible. I need these videos for a project where I’m compiling various clips and the watermark is quite intrusive in this context. Can anyone recommend a reliable tool or method that effectively download TikTok videos without watermark during the download process? Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Path to Production Azure OpenAI Instances – PowerSchool Power Buddy
Introduction:
In the rapidly evolving world of education technology, EdTech customers are increasingly turning to generative AI platforms to revolutionize the way they approach course content. Leveraging the power of Azure OpenAI models, these innovative platforms are transforming personalized content generation, course design, development, and even grading assessments. PowerSchool is a leading Education Technology provider of cloud-based K-12 software, with its award-winning software solutions.
Recognizing the transformative potential of Generative AI in education, PowerSchool’s New Solutions division has been dedicatedly exploring avenues to harness the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) to drive positive change. The Azure OpenAI Service, with its advanced AI models such as GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-4, and Vision, has become a cornerstone for these EdTech initiatives. Power School has been rigorously testing these models in various use cases, discovering the immense value they bring. The performance of the platform, the ability to scale API requests across different regions, the security of the end-to-end platform, and compliance with enterprise-wide organizational standards are just a few of the benefits that have been recognized.
Transitioning from proof of concept and pilot phases to full-scale production, Power School is now faced with the task of monitoring, scaling, and optimizing AI applications and cost.
Power Buddy Overview:
PowerBuddy is PowerSchool’s AI assistant, designed to meet the diverse needs of students, families, teachers, and administrators. Its goal is to provide personalized insights, foster engagement, and create a supportive environment throughout the educational journey. In the realm of assessment, Performance Matters PowerBuddy excels by helping educators create tailored assessments aligned with grade levels, standards, and topics. Integrated seamlessly into the Performance Matters platform, it generates questions and passages efficiently. Additionally, PowerBuddy’s conversational chatbot feature assists students with learning assignments. With its adaptability and support for all stakeholders, PowerBuddy enriches the educational experience for everyone involved.
Path to Production
As PowerSchool’s AI applications gain traction across school districts in the US, ensuring observability has emerged as a crucial component integrated into the solution rather than a mere monitoring mechanism. During our initial pilot phases, we identified key observability properties essential for understanding the internal state of our AI systems, including the following metrics.
Latency
Successful calls/Error rate
Processed Inference tokens
Completion Tokens
Total API Requests
We need comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively monitor and optimize and scale the resources before moving to production.
To monitor and optimize Azure OpenAI instances, PowerSchool utilizes Azure Monitor, a comprehensive solution for collecting and analyzing telemetry data. Azure Workbooks are built on Azure Monitor to create custom dashboards and reports, while Azure Managed Grafana enhances visualization with dynamic dashboards. Azure Log Analytics Workspace centralizes log data collection and analysis, providing deeper insights to refine metrics and improve monitoring. The following diagram shows how we can monitor different tools for different use cases.
The initial method involved utilizing Azure Monitor – Metrics and Alerts, offering a straightforward means to monitor and optimize Azure Open AI instances, particularly in single-instance deployments where basic metrics viewing, and simple alert setup are paramount. The accompanying diagram illustrates the process of monitoring Azure Open AI instances using Azure Monitor.
In scenarios involving multiple Azure Open AI instances spread across diverse regions and models (as exemplified by PowerBuddy), a more sophisticated monitoring capability proved necessary. This advanced functionality should seamlessly visualize data from various Azure Open AI instances and formats, highlighting the relevance of the subsequent approach – Azure Workbooks. These workbooks furnish dashboards showcasing total OpenAI requests within specific regions, latency across multiple instances, total tokens across resources etc. configurable to custom schedules.
Using Azure Workbooks provides a scalable platform to monitor and optimize Azure Open AI instances for production, especially beneficial for large-scale deployments requiring data combination and visualization from multiple sources and formats. The following diagram shows the total processed inferenced tokens across two different regions.
In cases where Azure Open AI instances are deployed in a multi-cloud environment, necessitating resource monitoring across different cloud vendors, a more comprehensive monitoring capability is essential.
The third approach is to use Azure Grafana Monitoring and Reporting. Grafana supports data sources from other cloud providers, enabling the monitoring and optimization of Azure Open AI instances in a multi-cloud environment. This provides a comprehensive view of resources across various cloud environments as would be needed in a company like PowerSchool which uses a multi cloud infrastructure. Additionally, dashboards can be exported and shared for collaborative monitoring and optimization efforts. The following dashboards show the total alerts, warnings, severity, and conditions.
In leveraging Azure Log Analytics Workspace for monitoring and enhancing Azure Open AI instances, a centralized and scalable solution emerges. This workspace facilitates the collection and analysis of log data from Azure Open AI instances and other associated resources. Empowered by the Kusto Query Language (KQL), users can efficiently query and manipulate log data, crafting bespoke insights and solutions. Dashboards within the workspace display vital metrics like total processed inference tokens over the past 120 days, employing dynamic KSQL queries for real-time analysis.
To address this challenge, we collaborated with the Microsoft Global Black Belt team to develop comprehensive monitoring solutions such as Azure workbooks comprising dashboards and insights for each metric outlined in our observability manifesto across multiple OpenAI instances. Additionally, we fine-tuned our alerting thresholds, switching between dynamic and static thresholds based on traffic patterns, alert frequency, and specific use cases. Here is the sample dashboard that we have developed to measure the performance of the AI Apps distributed across different instances.
As our understanding of usage patterns across products evolves, we are committed to continuously enhancing our observability and monitoring processes within Azure Open AI. One key recommendation is to iteratively monitor traffic, usage, and patterns across products, updating dashboards and alerts to deliver maximum value. Our experience at PowerSchool underscores the importance of continuous improvement to meet evolving needs in education technology.
Conclusion:
PowerSchool is leveraging Azure OpenAI models to transform education through generative AI, enhancing course content, design, and assessments. To monitor and optimize Azure OpenAI instances, PowerSchool uses Azure Monitor, Workbooks, Managed Grafana, and Log Analytics Workspace for comprehensive telemetry data analysis and visualization. Collaborating with Microsoft’s Global Black Belt team, PowerSchool develops monitoring solutions for scaling AI applications in production, emphasizing continuous improvement and iterative monitoring for enhanced observability in their AI applications.

MATLAB-ADS (TADS) interface not pulling accurate simulation data from ADS and displaying erroneous/repetitive plot legends
Hi, I am using the TADS interface to work and better analyse my simulations on the BSIM3 MOSFET which I have originally done on ADS first. I am facing the following issues:
1. Upon establishing the interface I notice that for instaance when I am plotting the Iprobe1.i (Ids:drain-source current) vs. VD( drain voltage), I get the same form as is supposed for a BSIM3 model (multiple lines for increasing levels of VG (gate voltage) from 4 to 18V in steps of 2 (bottom to top in the graph)), the data points for x and y match the values in ADS, however the legend on the side is quite misleading and shows multiple lines for VG=4V,6V and so on. (Matlab figure is attached, screenshot here). I have tried individually checking off these multiple inputs on the legend using the Plot browser option but it disrupts the plot entirely. Kindly help me in figuring out the solution.
2. In the main GUI, as you can see (screenshot below) the Save Data button is supposed to save all the data points as per the choices for all the dependent and independant variables however, the data that is getting stored is erroneous and repetitive for all levels of VG, even though the original simulation data in ADS is correct. My assumption is something wrong is happening between the transition of the data from ADS to MATLAB and I am not able to figure out the problem in the code for the Save Data button if there is one. (I have attached the code with this post as well). Please help me in figuring out the problem behind these issues since this interface is not that commonly used yet and there are low to no examples on this.Hi, I am using the TADS interface to work and better analyse my simulations on the BSIM3 MOSFET which I have originally done on ADS first. Find exact vector order in another vector array
I am trying to find a way to grab indivdual cells within a cell array that I can then use to find the exact order found in a larger matrix array.
I am having a difficult time trying to find a way to grab the exact order/vector in each cell array to locate the indices in the second larger matrix array.
For example, my cell array "att_event_codes" is the array I’m grabbing my desired vectors to find in the larger matrix array:
att_event_codes{1,1} : 9 10 12 11 20 12 33 21 42 22 18
att_event_codes{1,2}: 9 10 12 11 20 12 33 21 40 41 22 18
If I grab, for example, att_event_codes{1,1} as a vector I want to use:
vector = (att_event_codes{1,1});
I want to take that vector assignment to find the exact order of event codes in my larger matrix called "event_codes" (1×19277 double).
I have tried several matlab functions such as find, ismember, and strcmp and have been unable to figure out how to get them to work taking into account the entire vector rather than working with individual items within the vector. For example:
vector = (att_event_codes{1,1});
mask = ismember(event_codes,vector);
test = find(mask)
test returns 1×14953 double
Another way that I’ve tried (which is probably a better way to do this):
[~,test] = ismember(vector, event_codes)
test returns 1×11 double:
1 2 3 8 4 3 25 11 3655 5 15
The correct (desired) answser for this "test" would return an index of 3647:3657.

Incompatible Sizes for ode45 Output Assignment
I am trying to propagate orbits for a class project, and I’d like each orbit that is solved for using ode45 to be properly labelled instead of seeing ‘data1’ through ‘data11’ in the legend for the plot3() graph. If I can solve for each orbit without overriding it in the while loop, then I can just plot3() for each orbit individually, that’s why I have the idea of using the counter j as an index for an additional dimension in the ode45 output matrix.

Throws the following error:
Unable to perform assignment because the indices on the left side are not compatible with the size of the right side.
Error in Project (line 74)
[T_ode(:,j), trans_Orbit(j,:,:)] = ode45(@(q,x) xdot(q,x,Mu), [0 T(j)],x_0,opts);
The thing is, this fails after j = 8 iterations. It properly assigns the outputs from ode45 considering an additional dimension, but not past a certain point, the reason for which I cannot understand.
Again, if I can save all of the orbits without overriding any, I can print them all at the same time to allow for a proper legend. ode45, indexing MATLAB Answers — New Questions
Input command not showing the prompt until answer is put in the command window
Currently I am using Matlab online, and whenever I run an input command, it won’t show the prompt until I input an answer.
For example:
R = input("Input the Resistance in Ohms:n");
Imax = input("Input the upper limit of current (greater than 0, in amps) to plotn");
When I run my script, the command window is blank until I enter the answer. Once I input an answer, the command window displays the text that shouldve shown before my answer, and start working normally for any future input commands. To be more specific, i’ve added a picture of what happens. When I run the script above, my command window is blank, but once I input the number "5" as my answer, the "Input the Resistance in Ohms:" prompt will show up before my answer. Then the next input prompt will show up before I put in my answer as it should’ve done with the input command before.
I haven’t seen any similar issues online and I unfortunetly cannot try the dekstop version of MATLAB at the moment. Any help is appreciated!

How do I use my data set in an equation?
I have a 4145×6 data set collected by a fNIRS device. I need to use the formula log(Ib/Im). Ib is a mean value of 6 values, so a 1×6 data set, and Im is the 4145×6 data set. Issue regarding contents not moving with scroll bar in Word documents or Excel spreadsheets
Hi,
I’m currently trying to troubleshoot an issue for a customer of mine, where the contents of his Word documents or Excel spreadsheets don’t followmove along when moving the scoll bar. It just shows the page number, but the documentspreadsheet contents don’t move with it. The issue happens for other users on the PC and also in safe mode for WordExcel.
The PC is running Windows 10 and Office 365.
Things I’ve tried:
UninstallRe-install of Office 365
Checked for ‘Disable hardware acceleration’ but the setting doesn’t exist anymore in new versions.
Updated Nvidia graphics driver.
Checked to ensure that scroll lock isn’t turn on.
Rebooted PC.
Any ideas or assitance from anyone regarding the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Static meeting link for different attendees
Our third-party appointment booking software requires a single static meeting link to send to students who book virtual appointments. We’ve used the “Meet Now” meeting configuration to generate a link that will not expire and send everyone to the lobby to ensure one student can’t join if the link is currently being used by another student in an appointment. Unfortunately, this method still does not meet our security needs as it seems new students can see previous chat history and past students can see new messages from appointments after them.
What feature and configuration can we employ to use a single static meeting link for virtual appointments with a different student attendee each time?

Connect ServiceNow to Azure DevOps with No Code and Real-Time 2-Way Sync
Unito is a Microsoft partner with a new integration for ServiceNow to Azure DevOps. Anyone can sync records in ServiceNow to Azure DevOps work items with real-time 2-way updates between fields.
How does it work? Users create no-code 2-way integrations called “flows”. The flow represents the connection between ServiceNow and Azure DevOps.
You start by selecting a table in ServiceNow and a project in ADO.Then, you choose a flow direction for item creation. Do you want manually created records to automatically add work items in ADO; vice versa; or both?Next, you set rules with an “if this, then that” logic to filter out unrelated records or work items. Typically you would add tags in ADO and only sync work items with those tags, but you can also filter by custom fields or any other native field.Finally, you set up a table of field mappings populated with drop-down menus that include data pulled from ServiceNow and ADO:
Here’s a longer guide to connecting Azure DevOps projects to ServiceNow tables.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
